Check out his performance of this song on Singer 2017 Episode 6. After almost being voted off the competition, he really went all out on that one, and won the episode. I read that Lara Fabian congratulated him.

His lack of experience with both English and dance moves (which he put a lot of work into afterwards), made for a pretty awkward performance. He received his lowest score - 6th out of 8. Someone said in a comment that he was asked what other song he should have chosen instead, and he said "anything".

Please also watch his version of the song from back in 2017. He was trying to win a contest and the enthusiasm and force he used in this version makes it a totally different song. It's easy to spot this version as he's wearing a powder blue suit!
Many people marvel at the performances of Dimash or Floor Jansen, but when it comes to interpreting this song, there is no one like its original lyricist, whether in English or Italian, no one puts the emotion that the enormous Lara Fabian puts into it.

This is one of my most favorite Dimash songs. He is an all around wonderful man and performer. I feel so blessed to be able to experience Dimash.
Thank you for reacting to Dimash again. I love this song and it's a good performance. But the best performance of Adagio is the one from The Singer competition 2017 in China and he also plays the piano there. There is no version which is better than this one.

A really beautiful song❤️. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance literally hit me physically every time🤯. And you can see there that I’m not the only one.
I love his outfit with his blue suit and white shoes. If you watch several videos of him, you will see that he often falls on his knees during many of his performances. So a Dear gave him knee pads as a gift. I don’t think he wore them on stage though. Although he has certainly gotten one or two bruises😂.

Hi Jennifer. You give so much detail on Dimash's singing, the technical issues involved from the instant that he engages himself. Stopping at so many different stages, in the end, becomes appreciated in order for one to at least get an idea of how Dimash manages to navigate his instrument through the song that ultimately affects his entire performance.
Myself being a musician with a daughter who is a professionally trained singer, I know the amount of practice that goes into training in order to produce music of any kind on the highest level. So, trust me when I say that I highly appreciate your commentary. Continue with all that you do on your channel for the benefit of so many out there who can at least learn something from it. ❤

Thanks, Jen, for returning to Dimash. There are, indeed, numerous versions of his "Adagio" out there, and I tend to agree with those who name the one from Singer 2017 as their favorite. It may not be technically his best, but the raw emotion that he displays in that version makes it stand out to me. I also agree with those who reference Lara Fabian. Her live performance in "From Lara With Love" is incomparable. Watch her and see how and why she influenced Dimash.

Jennifer! Well what can you say about Dimash. As you said his voice seems to break all the "laws" of vocal folds. His music isn't always to my taste ... Me lleva a pensar en la voz de Dimash y el elemento terapéutico que supuestamente tiene en muchas personas. A menudo he comentado sobre la capacidad de Dimash para transmitir emociones profundas a través de su voz (incluso cuando existen barreras del idioma, Dimash parece capaz de transmitir el sentimiento vocalmente). Por los videos que he visto y los artículos que he leído, Dimash es un ser humano muy enfocado (¡obviamente talentoso!), que tiene un profundo sentido de conexión con las cosas simples de la vida: familia, fe, belleza, niños, amistades y respeto. 'Adagio in g minor' - today, known as one of the most popular compositions of classical music; composed of alleged fragments of Tomaso Albinoni's; in 1958, joined together by Remo Giazotto (* 4. Sept. 1910; † 26. Aug. 1998 - Italian musicologist, music critic, and composer).

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly".
This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific parce.
The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself.
The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music composition and different lyrics (Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance).
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer of this new version.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Julie Anne San Jose, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , …
They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love.

My favorite version of this is from the Singer competition in China. This version was pitch corrected probably because there were issues with Dimash's in ear monitors and he was having a hard time hearing himself. If you watch a fan cam version of this performance, you can hear what parts needed pitch correction.
