- Raising the seat tub bottom in the Hobie Adventure Island. This gets your butt up out of the puddle that normally accumulates there.
Don't assume anything about how you think it's going to look or work until you've watched the entire video. This is a very nice modification for the AI.

Great video, and could not agree more that the seat is too low, I own the tandem island and that is a real bug bear for me, I am surprised that on such a stable kayak that costs the most that they did not implement the pro angler 14 seat into this design. What a craft that would be. Shame because every single time I get into my TI I get a wet bum and it is not pleasant, for such a pricey piece of kit I am shocked this is allowed to happen in an otherwise fantastic craft.

Yes, I've been on the foils. The TF is a truly amazing craft. Tremendous acceleration. Will spend more time with it this fall when the winds pick up again.
Whats the name of the foam material?
i reckon that would be fine even with the amas removed....balance should be OK.

Where can i buy the foam mix ?
The Pro Angler seat wouldn't be a good choice for a sailing craft. It would put you too high against the heeling moment in good winds and make it hard to get your head under the sail. But it would have been nice to have the seat bottom an inch higher. The Tandem Island is not nearly as bad in this regard as the Adventure Island, however.
hi tom ive looked at the AI Seat Riser ....ive put in a captain's chair in mine no wet bum but the captain's chair is very nice to park your bum on not to mention the back rest is Excellent ...... great videos tom........
I know some guys like the captain's chair. For me the rise is too much and makes it a bit harder to move and duck the sail on tacks and gybes. But if you like it, great. Everybody has their own requirements. You just have to find the right solution for you!
hi tom you can make the mast head a bit longer that will help you ive done that and it's fine put a sleave in side the top part and epoxy it and cloth on the out side ... 8..inches will be fine I all so have a jib on as well good fun I love sailing you get so much more speed in light wind

I have a Hobie Sail kit for our Revo and PA14 and because I have raised the seat in my PA i'm trying to raise the sail about 8" so the main sheet line doesn't hit my head (I also use a raised, about 12" block on the read of the yak too). Thank you.

Yes, it worked. All videos of my AI made after the date the video was published are made with the new seat riser.
