Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005, even forcefully removing settlers. Isn't that what you wanted? What did Hamas do to build up the country? Nothing. They diverted enormous contributions toward rockets, launchers and tunnels instead of infrastructure and education. Then they attack Israel, not for any independence or two-state solution but to spread their fanatical religious beliefs. Also there exists no fiat currency that is even remotely a viable alternative now. Some OPEC nations about a decade ago were floating an exchange that sold barrels on gold futures, or some other such construct. That would be devastating for many reasons. But even there, US and EU could flood gold markets whenever they want.
