I've been listening to Cigarettes After Sex for years but I just realized this, the best way to enjoy their songs is when you are all alone, maybe driving on a highway in a winter night, enjoying tea on a rainy afternoon or just lying on bed trying to fall asleep. It's about facing all your inner loneliness and moving forward
i do this all the time, I do it so I feel comfortable enough to cry. I like listening to it with my girlfriend. we both hold each other and for a brief moment my life doesn't seem all that bad. I cry too but. out of happiness I have her to be with me and comfort me.
This band truly never fails to mesmerize me with each song.

You know when people say that 'you haven't lived long enough to hear your favorite song?' This is the best song ever created, in my opinion. I can't stop crying. And I'm still wondering how they still make their music this good while it's almost all the same. This song sounds like heartbreak and falling in love at the same time.
Exactly how I feel, heartbroken whilst falling in love. Seeing my best friend who I've had feelings for a while get with someone and distance herself away from me without realising she's doing it. Hurts.
It’s like listening to a good song that never ends , I hope they never stop making music like this
I was introduced to CAS by my ex boyfriend, and the first song I have ever listened to was Heavenly. Most of the time when were on call, we would always listen to CAS, until it reached the point that I became a fan. We used to listen to Attention a lot, and it felt so good to listen to that song with him. However, things went blurry between us and we ended our relationship. I still listen to our favorite CAS songs from time to time and although they feel like bittersweet lullabies, I still reminisce each time we spent together. This song was written so beautifully- so beautiful that it hurts. Pistol will forever be a song for my longingness and misery. To him, I hope you're always taking care of yourself, I am still wishing the best of things for you.
Literally every song Greg & his band put out is like a movie. Every single record tells such an intricate & heartbreaking story that I keep wanting more and more. Their sound too is so unique & atmospheric & it transports you into the story.
How long has this band been around, why have I not heard of them, are there any other projects the members are associated with, do they tour much, and what cultural subtype would you say their fanbase consists of?
I've driven many nights on lonely stretches of highway while listening to them. They're perfect for that among many other occasions.

I used to sing CAS songs for my boyfriend every night because he had trouble falling asleep, he couldn't sleep at all without my lullabies. My favorite song to sing to him was "K." because I used to listen to it when I first started crushing on him. Through all of our good and bad times, there was always a CAS song to perfectly describe how I felt in the moment. He was the best boyfriend in the world, I would give anything to have him back in my life. He committed suicide last month, on 10/6/22. I feel like I'm too young to feel this type of loss, I'm only 15 and I'm afraid I'll be broken forever. Part of me is even more afraid of moving on from him, he was perfect to me in every way. Why couldn't he see himself the way I did? It was young love, we were only together for 1 year but I was so convinced he was my soulmate. How am I supposed to move on after losing my soulmate? Every night since his death I sit outside and sing for hours just to make sure my love is getting a good sleep in heaven. I don't know what happens when people pass away, but I'd like to hope that he is somewhere watching over me, waiting for us to be together again one day. This song is exactly how I feel right now. He's on my mind all the time and part of me is hopelessly waiting for him to come back. I love this song so much, the way it makes me feel. I can't wait to sing it to the sky tonight. I love you Liam

I'm so sorry. Unrequited love is a bitch. I know from experience how much it can hurt. Try distancing yourself from her if possible. It's easier to move on from your unrequited love when you don't have to see them constantly. The lockdown in 2020 definitely helped me with that lmao

Same for me but it’s just a simple Valentine’s Day date, I remembered that she played songs of them while we were seating by the dockside looking at the sunset. The memories and vibes still hits me whenever I listen to them, it was saddening sometimes but i got used to and enjoyed it.

I'm glad they're still doing music because I thought they were gone after the Cry album, and I'm very thankful they didn't. CAS is definitely my favorite indie band out there. I love how therapeutic their music is and calming.
you dont know how much i love cigarettes after sex. It's calming, soothing and pleasent to listen to. It makes me cry but feel happy too. It makes me feel better about myself. All their albums are good, it's relaxing it makes me sleep. I cry to sleep listening to them but it feels so good. Id do ANYTHING to go to a CAS concert. I love love love this band.

CAS has a unique sound, I've been having a rough time recently and songs like these calm me down. Music is truly a blessing for us all.
It seems this band can do no wrong. Every song of theirs is so dreamy and casts such a magical spell on me. I can easily listen to an hour loop of this song.
I love this song.
It's different than the other cas songs, but it still has the core essence.
I like that the lyrics aren't intimate anymore. They're more heartfelt and confrontational.
This is probably the first song that would play in my mind, when I'm out looking at the moon reminiscing.
The intimacy isn't physical anymore, but it's emotional. That's how life is. Once we get past the intimate impulses (we were all young once), we start valuing emotions a lot more.
I'll be content if this is the last cas song. It feels like a fitting end to a journey. Like running off into the sunset, past the horizon.

I love this band, really loving this latest release! For the magic to work, put your headphones on, lay down on your bed with the covers on and close your eyes, and as you drift off to sleep you’ll be dancing with your soulmate, the one you’ll love forever. Now I saw this on another comment on a different song by the same band so I will leave it here because I found it so sweet, ever noticed that this band doesn’t do like a music video? There’s nobody dancing or a certain guy doing an action as the song plays or two people dancing to the track, it’s just the cover for the song or album, that’s the magic. Every poplar artist would do that, but this band doesn’t do it and it is for a creative reason. You are the music video, you listen to the song and create one but for yourself and you can certain run wide with your imagination. That’s how you’ll enjoy these songs, it isn’t about someone else’s story in like a music video where it follows a set of characters, you make that part up and personally that’s how the magic works. I’ll be here listening to these songs until the day I find my soulmate, I might not be alone as many others might be doing the same thing, one day we’ll find the one we will be with forever and that time will surely come.
