- Young girl describes quickly reversing her life-long struggle with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and OCD with advances in modern neuroscience. Using diagnostics gained from QEEG and MRI imaging, Dr. A. Elahi, neurologist, applies transcranial magnetic stimulation to specific brain regions and significantly reshapes this young girl's brain disorder and life. She is also able to overcome chronic pain and poor eating habits as result which lead to significant improvement in weight.

This is exactly what people need to hear, like her, my brain simply just broke one day. I woke up out of the blue with depression for no reason, some of us have depression caused for no reason. I tried many pills, to no avail. Nor does it get to the root cause of the issue. I’m not saying TMS is permanent, but even to buy a couple years of peace from depression is a beautiful thing. Hopefully I can embark on this adventure soon.
I've had it for depression and anxiety and I'm like pretty much cured
Price?
@@ivannovoselac3518 in Australia it's rebated by medicare. So i was $20 out of pocket per session. But different clinics could charge a little bit more out of pocket.
Would love to hear an update on how you're doing now
@VileStail yeah still in complete remission. Had the other side of my head done to treat anxiety (to the point of mild paranoia and physical IBS symptoms with it) and also now completely gone.
I will note that we are super lucky to have it rebated by Medicare here in Australia, it's a new addition to medicare. Was very expensive before this.
Generally I'm a bit flat at the moment bc pregnant and the sickness that comes with that is making it hard to leave the house but it's like my brain doesn't know how to become depressed anymore. It hits a wall and bounces straight off.
@@nelliemilne1724 That is amazing news! So happy to hear that it worked for you! I've been struggling with chronic anxiety for the past 15 years. Lately I started getting panic attacks too, so I'm currently on an SSRI and starting CBT therapy. I'm just doing some research on TMS, in case I need to look for other options. I've been hearing some positive things about it. Congratulations on the pregnancy!
Great to here this beautiful lady have such success
U are so lucky!!! I am so happy for u. I hope u always feel normal and it never comes back! Im having a very hard and it has just come out of no where. God bless you
ask your doctor about this
She is so articulate.
good video ✅
She seems very smart and witty.
(The lisp is very adorable)
Omg her talking about her thoughts of sewer slide are what I’m going through exactly right now and it’s terrifying…
So happy for you
You're not crazy. I have OCD and I'm not crazy
Thank you
I have severe panic disorder, anxiety and depression. Currently I’m agoraphobic. I still leave the house but public spaces are very hard for me. I have been dealing with this for 2 years now and it’s wrecked havoc on my life. I have been pointed in the direction of Tms, and I’m interested but hesitant because I’ve heard it can have an adverse affect with anxiety and that’s the last thing I need
Yes--when not properly used and applied, TMS can increase anxiety. However, when done correctly, TMS can be extremely helpful for anxiety disorders and will not worsen it.
I’m a current patient. This facility is very thorough and adapts to every change.
@@CG_Lord Adapts to every change of what?
How r u now ?
I have two large round 81mm magnets that I bought from Harborfrieght. When I place them to the left, front side of my head I can alleviate my anxiety and ocd.
I cant afford TMS yet, but soon, I'll be getting the treatment.
DIY magnets work well for now.
I don’t think that’s safe for you
I just started TMS treatment, they are doing 18 minutes 45 seconds on the left side of my head for depression and 10 minutes on the right for anxiety. I have horrible panic/anxiety when I go to certain places so i avoid them. This will help right? I hope so because I'm losing my life here
How much does it cost?
@@gsa7512 my insurance covers it, most do. I have a $15 copay so its $300 a month for me. I think its 35 sessions total
@@jrman413 TMS had no effect for me. It didnt make me improve at all unfortunately. About 3 months ago I was put on Paxil and it helped me so much it turned my life around and ive been able to return to work. I still have a lot of work to do, but im atleast able to work now with not too much anxiety but still avoid so many situations
@@jrman413 why do you say that
@@jrman413 Im sorry you have that mindset, be well.
TMS is contradicted in patients with Bi-polar, how was she able to do this safely?
Thank you for the great question. It is NOT true that TMS is absolutely contraindicated for bipolar depression. It IS TRUE that when TMS is used in the same ('cookie cutter') fashion as is with unipolar depression (as many centers often do), TMS can in fact trigger mania in some (although not all) bipolar patients. There have been, in fact, numerous clinical trials showing how TMS can be used to treat bipolar depression WHEN USED properly with keen choice of how and where the brain is stimulated. If you would like to learn more about the clinical research showing benefits of TMS in bipolar patients, please email us at info@neurospabrain.com.
me depressed 2 it sucks I game to be distracted from my life that sucks, I game about 10 hours a day if not more

I have heard from a number of people that TMS is very painful to have done.
The severity of discomfort or pain experienced by patients with TMS depends on several factors including type of TMS machine and coil used, patient's 'motor threshold settings', specific TMS protocol, and patient's pain threshold. At our center, we assess level of patient discomfort and modify the intensity, protocol, and coil angle to ensure patients do not experience any pain or significant discomfort. Close attention to patient reaction, availability of alternative protocols and coil angle can make a huge difference. The most common way patients at our center describe TMS is a 'tapping sensation' on scalp.
I had no pain at all
It did for me, however so worth it.

Did you ever have severe depression and anxiety before like as a child.
This patient has not reported having severe depression as a child. But, many patients who experience severe depression or other mood disorders later in life, have had some form of the disorder when younger.
