I really dig this
sick
That's awesome! When you were doing the bottom lam, after you poured the colours and started laminating you added another resin on top to wet it out. It was an clear resin?
Thank you
Rafael LG correct. I didn’t let the colors wet out enough, so I came back with some clear to seal it up
this may be dumb question....so when doing the white, black, and individual colors. how much hardner did you put in. it seems like it would take a long time to do that. and some colors would kick. I am just starting to experiment with color work so just wondering.
Not a dumb question. I mixed the black and white a bit hotter than normal, maybe a couple drops extra. I mixed the MEKP in the three colors per side before putting them down and moved quick. For me, the key has been to put the resin on the board as quickly as possible. If it sits in the cup, it goes off faster.
@@ghettosurfboards4554 well it looks great. When doing colors I'm always unsure how fast to kick resin.
You have to just give it a shot. Some colors react differently to the MEKP - some faster, some slower.
whats the piece you cut off?
Which time? If it’s what I’m thinking, it’s the laps from the bottom to the deck and eventually from the deck to the bottom.
did you use rice paper for your decal? put in on after the resin cause the tint job?
Yes to both. I get my rice paper logos printed through boardlams.com and I put the laminates on after the lamination is complete because of the tint/pigment.
Sexy, thanks for the response. I laminated a magenta tint long board last night my rice paper logo still stood out, but I learned my lesson on a pickle green board and went way to heavy on the color, couldn't even see the tape line on the cut lap. I like your relief cuts too.
Thanks for the kind words!
