  • I thought I was going to be much older before my hair started to fall out.
    Here's how to reattach your dreadlocks when your roots get too thin and the loc just gives up hope. By the way, you can use this method to also do dreadlock extensions.

    Thanks for another method. I crocheted, if thats a word, 2 locs back so far. 11 years with locs and I just started maintaining them properly. Losing some was a wake up call.

      I cut mine n kept it now I have relocked my hair n reattached the locks I had cut of I didn't use braids I just use a crochet needle size 3.13 n pulled the lose ends of the cut locks through the new lock n then continue pulling the through in a downwards direction until it was all combined into one lock . happy with the results . no one can tell the difference

    U could've fed the new growth through the loc you added in different directions strand by strand. I use a $1 crochet neddle (1.25mm) from Wal-Mart. It's alot more secure and stays in after washing the hair. I've done it to some of mine 3 years ago and they haven't budged.

    • @justinlocs
      @justinlocs  6 років тому +1

      +Leonae Nichol I'll try that next time a loc falls out. Thanks for the advice!

    that's the same thing that was happening to me. I started out with a small patch of my locs shaved then over time I noticed it's going further and further back. I had stopped over twisting my locs so whatever new growth I had the barber was shaving it off. One barber kept catching my locs in the blades which was causing my locs to thin out...i had to combine a lot of them along the edges...I just stopped going to him...so now the times I don't re twist my locs, I just make sure I twist in the new growth so the barber doesn't shave it off.

      Mrs. RockKitty (VixxVoodooKitty) the same goes for me but I cut mines off by mistake got a double tape but it's all good it grew back so now I'm not gonna twist it to much

    OKAY this video needs a new title - "attach your longer locs to your loc-free patch" because this video is NEEDED. I can't believe the UA-cam Gods smiled on me today and I found this video.
    The love of my life has a patch at the front like yours (but a bit shorter) and he hates it. He thinks it's a balding thing, which it isn't really because it's nice and thick and healthy looking. Anyway, I thought it could work to cut one of his longer dreads at the back half way down it, and then attach the cut-off half to the front patch, and if it worked then to carry on 4 or 5 times until the patch was all loc'd up. He was looking at me with a "you dare take scissors to any of my locs and I will take them and damage you" kinda look in his eyes... but now I've found this video there is hope for my life and for his short patch!
    THANK YOU MUCH LOVE

    You need to cut ALL of your hair off. This does not look good. I’m not trying to be mean at all. I’m just being honest
