It's not black and white. You should listen to criticism when it's valid and logical, which is exactly what Stev-O did which is very impressive. Most people do one of two things, they either ignore fans, and negative comments completely, or they listen to all the negative stuff people say, and let that effect then negatively. What Stev- O did is recognize valid criticism, and addressed and corrected it, which is admirable.
BAM made them who they are today,,, your welcome losers. 🙄 It's so annoying when ppl get sober and think they're so self righteous when they did so much worse S*it how embarrassing
Of course fans want to hear about him! Nothing wrong with that. How they spoke about him here was lovely. But it's different when he's being used as clickbait, and they're boldly saying they believe a gossip focused subreddit instead of talking to Bam himself. If they can't talk to him, then they shouldn't be gossiping about him. You know? Talking about him like a friend versus gossiping about him... totally different things. Steve (and all of us) are constantly evolving... constant works-in-progress. Him having empathy for someone he used to envy is actually a really beautiful message to send out to his audience. I'm impressed.

I watched the video Brandon did with Bam at the Castle about a year ago. It sucks that Bam can’t keep it together for more than a few months. It’s like something bad happens and he falls off the wagon. I know from my experience with alcohol whenever something bad happened I’d pick up a drink not understanding the drink was where the bad started. Once I got that right with myself I haven’t had a drink in 2 years.
@@GODEES77 It happens to the best of us - its a chronic disease. Then some of us that had a harder time than others keep trying and eventually succeed. So while I get you think you're being supportive, I wish people wouldn't say things like "It sucks he can't keep it together more than a few months" as if it's never going to be okay for Bam to try again and get a little bit longer of a stretch which is better than before. Healing is not linear and takes time- so long as he tries to minimize harm to himself and no harm is done against others them why are we "Shaming" people. That's what keeps people from trying again. I know for a fact because I have been stuck in that cycle myself about eight years ago. Anyway, food for thought!

I just met Novak in Castle Rock, CO at the Recovery across America 2024 event. Really awesome dude.. lit made my life. As a recovering speedball addict with arms that looked like a zombie movie(1 year 1/2 clean) dude was down to earth, nice, and had TIME to hear what you had to say.... I love the guy. They are all legends to me and totally changed skateboarding culture for better or worse !!! Glad to see, these two in particular, still alive and well!!... not to mention sober!!
I got really tired of this episode because of Steveo and Scott's "banter' or interview questions - It's true that they may just be friends talking but they have to realize that there is an audience who does not really know the background and history necessarily when coming into watch this, so to see two people ask questions and then pick apart someone's answer, it seems more like trying to antagonize than have a professional podcast where people know what the hell is going on. That's just my perception though.

Idk why, but this interview with Novak felt more like, critical and meanspirited than normal. I love when he's on the show, but for some reason the normal brotherhood bond I see between Steve O and him just isn't there. Kinda sad. Just doesn't feel like Steve's heart is in this one.
I don't think 96 was a low point in skating, I think with or without the X games skating would have taken off, because I was 16 in 96 and everyone was skating, and everyone was heavy into Jnco's and grunge etc, and with that brought skateboarding. I remember a huge group of use brbought a quarter pipe, and railes, and all kinds of stuff up on this hill with cement at the top of it in MN, like a make shift skatepark and everyday of the week there would be 10 to 40 people up there hanging out skating, and there would be girls, and just everyone went there it was a thing. Then the city came and took all the stuff we brought up there. But Skating was huge in the 90s like 93 and it was growing by 96. Maybe the money wasn't there for "PROS" until the X games, but popularity for normal kids was definitely around.
@@ashleybrown4754 Because skaters didn't like Tony hawk. He was the least popular skater, and everything was street. Not cause skating wasn't popular, Tony just wasn't liked, he was lame. This is from a skater who hung around groups of 30 or more skaters, back in the 90s. Tony Hawk making money doesn't have anything to do with the popularity of skating. The amount of people buying skate equipment does, and skating was extrmely popular in the grunge era which is the exact era we are talking about. All those grunge metal kids skated, and that was insanely popular. Ramps were not, it was all street, companies like Plan B, Girl, Etnies, DC Shoe, Droors before that, Shorty's Venture, all these companies were around. The issue was small skate companies didn't know how to properly monetize the business, because they weren't business men they were skaters. Tony Hawk has zero bearing on how popular skating was. Tony Hawk was the skater people liked who didn't skate, that's just how it was back then.
I'm so sick of Steve O trashing Bam. Bro you're a successful tv icon that is " Sober" Even if Bam still gives you shit you should be the bigger person! Get over it!

@psychobillynumbnuts1 on radio bam novak was the first person to come up with getting boobs lol but steveO turned it down lol if Novak did it instead it would crush steveO's ego big time.
The goats of skating are Rodney Mullen, Chad Muska, Tony Hawk, and Bam.......to me atleast. Maybe not necessarily the GOATs but the most influential to me. Another one of my recent favorites is Johnny Giger

thank you steve o!! while i love your journey of sobriety, it does get old hearing about it non stop. refreshing to get some new material to talk about for the audience!
After watching the podcast with Poopies i see right through stevo and the other dudes egos and bullshit so clearly now. Dude acts like he's always trying to help people when in reality it's about him making money and now that he has gained some success it's like he thinks he better and was also bogus for bringing up poopies financial struggles and like made it a joke about him asking to work an honest job. The entire podcast you guys did is a clear example(there are many) of him bringing guests on and "Taking their inventory" and making them share there drunk log even if there clearly uncomfortable. They are also always so focused on WHAT you used, HOW MUCH, HOW OFTEN. This is the opposite of what a true A.A. member does. Especially when talking about his overdose he said "i was trying to keep that lowkey cause im not proud of it could maybe cut that out" and their reply is "welp everyone knows know hahah" and not only did he not edit it out but actually choose to clip it and make an entire separate video of it so he could make more money. Another thing is that he brings guests on and try to convince them that they have a problem. I know people in A.A. hate this but their ARE people who Drink and do drugs 2 -3 days out of the week and dont develope an addiction and can moderate it their whole lives. So stevo id love to hear what your HONEST A.A. reply is to this. YEAA DUDE. Get tf outta here with all that fake ass "Love"

From 91 to 94 was a super low point in skateboarding. Tony Hawk couldn't even make money.
Always love when Novak is on the show!
I'm so sick of Steve O trashing Bam. Bro you're a successful tv icon that is " Sober" Even if Bam still gives you shit you should be the bigger person! Get over it!
I find it very funny stevo says he doesn't want to exploit bam while at the same time exploiting bam if you don't want to talk about someone then don't talk about them how can you say you don't want to talk about them while you're on camera talking about them steve-o's got a bad habit of that if Steve-O really didn't want to exploit or talk about them during the podcast and he would have said that to Novak before the cameras were rolling but he didn't it was literally one of the first things he talked about dude literally says he waited for the cameras to start rolling to bring up his name
Why does Steve-O contradict Novak so much?
I'm 25 mins in and have been thinking the same. I don't remember that being a thing last time he was on
I was thinking the same thing!! It seems like SteveO has this I’m better than you attitude with him
Because Steve-o is a narcissist
Thankfully Scott is trying to make up for steves tude
Christian Hasoi's dick shaped board snapped the first trick.
Novak is a level headed guy now. Glad to hear he’s doing his thing. Nothing phases him
Steve-O was kind of a dick to Novak this time around, contradicting everything smh.
Cuz he sees himself too much in him
@@psychobillynumbnuts1All these clean and sober people are weak minded
@psychobillynumbnuts1 on radio bam novak was the first person to come up with getting boobs lol but steveO turned it down lol if Novak did it instead it would crush steveO's ego big time.
I don't think so
He just questioned him
The goats of skating are Rodney Mullen, Chad Muska, Tony Hawk, and Bam.......to me atleast. Maybe not necessarily the GOATs but the most influential to me. Another one of my recent favorites is Johnny Giger
This is a good representation of healing Thanks boys!
That Adam Friedland podcast really warped Steven O's mind 😮
Always a great guest
Novak looks so good now days. I'm glad he's stayed sober for so long and is paying it forward.
Glad to see Novak looking mean. I saw a recent vid of bam. Do you guys thing bam has a cult going?
I love Novak on the podcast, I think they are some of the best
It’s good to see Novac healthy and sober
Dreamseller was an awesome book. Novak kicks ass and im so proud of him
That was a great episode. It's always great to see Novak only on the up and climbing and having the much deserved success with his recovery and his treatment centers etc. Congratulations bro
Edward James Olmos is the guy Steve O was thinking about 👍🏻🤣
Everyone always gets American Me and American History X mixed up
The cool thing about this podcast is it’s like watching the home shopping network at the same time
Can you explain this?
@@ejr7155 lol just a lot of ads. Kind of a meme at this point as far as how much stuff Steve-O is always trying sell his fans .
@@GregQuilts thank you xo
Is it just me or does it seem like Brandon Novak like to embellish his story and SteveO tries to keep him honest haha
thank you steve o!! while i love your journey of sobriety, it does get old hearing about it non stop. refreshing to get some new material to talk about for the audience!
YEAA DUDE. Get tf outta here with all that fake ass "Love"
speaking of trying to sell a house is like me every time i take a blue chew and me and lex go to town its a habit but replace that habbit with fume vapes........im sorry im just sick of the dumb segways
Shut up! MOON PIE is awesome!! I have nothing but pitties! The best companions ever!!!!! I work at the venue in Peoria Il, where you will be stopping in a couple months, used to be a runner, but now promoted... will definitely be checking out you show!

Got my tickets for Newark OH the day the pre-sale started
Wow Brandon Novak. I hear he's sober now
He’s been sober for multiples of years. He runs his own sober living homes and is active in the recovery community.
@@jaredblainemuzikThat was more than obviously sarcasm
Lmao
Lol he kept saying that jokingly the second or third time he was on
Aye the duo we all need!! Love the podcast Steve-O!! 💯
Always the best guest!!! Besides pontius lol!
That blows I hope bam can find another come back he was skating great and seemed a lot happier addiction is a hell of thing
Steve-0 just has an arrogance towards bam
Finally novak not talking about sobriety every second.
Growing up in the CKY era being a kid this lore is awesome as an adult 😂😂😂😂
SteveO, im glad you found MooMoo cuz pibbles really are the best road doggos. i wish you guys the best of rides bud.

Damn Novak, my old man was exactly the same, literally he was in the same club but in Australia

YEE-HEAAA DUUUDE! I’ll be at the San Diego show 💯🔥
So rad, 🤘🏼 helping me towards sobriety.
Mt. Rushmore of skating… Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Nyjah Huston, and cant decide between (Reynolds, Daewon, or Danny Way, not sure)
Brandon Novak, YA FARRRKN LEGEND 🤘🏼
This episode made me relapse. Thanks guys!
I gotta catch your show
Love when you have Brandon on, keep up the great work guys!
I just bumped into WeeMan at the gas station getting his van washed.
Scott stop interrupting people with stupid questions. Nobody watches this podcast to hear you talk
At first I was like why bring such negative shit to this but dude he really is like judgmental a fuck to woman.
234 episodes in and he’s still doing it 😂
Getting away from Bam was the best thing for Novak and Raab

*Edward James Olmos* in
*’American Me’*
Much love to the both of you❤
Great episode.
The poker game in cky2k is sooo underrated
John Conner aka Eddie Furlong would be awesome! I watched Detroit Rock City the other night, make sure to ask questions about that one
No addiction talk 👍
