That’s really cool dude. I’m mentally strategizing mine. You gave me a ton of inspiration. What an AWESOME thing you did by incorporating the classic play sets. 👍🏼
I still haven't taken my Turtles Street Scene diorama out of the box. Same with the firehouse. Probably need to get on top of that before I get too old and my rheumatoid arthritis won't allow it.
So the wall keys are interchangeable! I'm going to po a couple of the toon sets from NECA, and the pictures make it look like they are, but nowhere on the box or in the product description do they say that you can change the layout of the doors and windows. I don't get that. Thanks for the informative video!
The toon is my least favorite of all The colors are…of course toony And mine are both loose, much worse quality control than the others (Not saying yours will be that way)
Fantastic review, great to see the differences between the SDCC TMNT version and the generic version. I hope NECA comes to the party with additional props/accessories for these.
I revisited this video as neca's reissuing this diorama, never fails to leave me impressed w/ the view of the different city scapes..glad they're issuing this color, just because its the most adaptable to different figures of the three diorama color schemes..
Really been looking forward to this release since watching your review of the SDCC version. Patiently waited for it to be listed on Amazon & last week was added with $92 price tag (b4 tax) for several days & luckily was able to secure an order at that price (as now up to $113 or so). Best price I saw otherwise was Fresh Figs for $99 (sold out) & then Entertainment Earth for $105. I plan to display my SHF Marvel IW line collection which should look pretty cool with the likes of flying characters (Iron Man, Falcon, Captain Marvel & War Machine) in flight poses off the top floor with or without the city backdrop. Not sure if gonna use the city backdrop as will have to get a look-see in hand. So much possibility too with the street area in front of the dio for your action figures & accessories if you have the area in your display (which I do) with this dio in the backdrop. A few 1:12 scale motorcycles & cop car to add in street area will be a good start. After watching this post I'll likely pick up a 2nd piece for the back-to-back display (& larger top floor area) if I'm able to get another favorable price. Kudos to NECA for producing this amazing product for collectors. Thanks for the very high quality review (once again) & all the comparables as this is the best & most comprehensive review I've seen of this product, by far.
I was IMPATIENTLY waiting for DCBService.com to get it in...about 6 weeks after I could've ordered it from Neca via Amazon for like $105 (plus shipping). I saved about $45 total, but had to wait 6 additional weeks... I probably would've just paid extra to have it early, but oh well now...GREAT sets.
@@dHuntersReviews Yeah sounds like DCBS was the way to go as the NECA via Amazon shipping charges are a ripoff (for this size product) IMO so I don't pay those. I'm glad I waited for the separate listing on Amazon with free shipping although I have to wait until June or July for a ship date (not an issue for me). Meant to ask you if you found a good source/price to pick up your John Wick figs as I have not been able to find the Wick 1 version under $95, if you are interested in sharing. Usually you indicate in your vids but I don't recall such in the JW review video.
@@dHuntersReviews Thanks, yeah sold out now on the Japan sites so may just pickup the JW v2 version & see if JW v1 possibly comes down on Amazon over time. Personally I prefer the v1 look a bit more when comparing to the v2 prototype that's out on UA-cam.
Hello. Would you mind telling me how tall is the dropdown gate/door? I just ordered this and a 3D printed actual door with a doorknob and just want to make sure they're compatible size-wise.
Put the ghostbuster rooftop on the NECA roof. You’ll have to prop the back of the GB roof since it’s so deep. It wonder what that would look like on top of the TMNT roof.
Hm....yeah, there really was no need to put that NECA shipper box within another box. I've seen very precious items that people want to keep the box pristine (or delicate items) shipped with much less.
Great review dHunter! I've been thinking about picking this set up. Really impressed with your combined city dio. You can have tons of figures & photo ops with that behemoth, lol. Do you have pics of it anywhere else? Some of the images of it in your video were really dark.
I can show you an older pic of my setup before I got the newer diorama, sorry for the dark video, I will need to get a better light in that room! imgur.com/f06qh4G That was my city display BEFORE these 2 dioramas. Had to move a lot of stuff around to make it fit now though...
Awesome video. Just picked up two of these bad boys from my fav toy shop Frank and sons yesterday didn’t imagine these things would be so heavy until I was carrying em them both to my car lol. But where did you get those fire escape stairways, street lamps, and roof top pieces you have showcased on your action figure city setup???
Do you have any theories on why NECA never divulged that the backdrop was two-sided? I've been trying to figure out why they withheld that information, even at the last minute. They could've ended up with so many more pre-orders..one would think, but perhaps not. I know I certainly wasn't interested in the daytime look, and really wanted to utilize that backdrop.
They revealed that information on Twitter and in sons of their late solicitation photos. Would’ve been intelligent if they made sure it was public knowledge from day one.
I've been thinking about using the generic diorama as the diorama for the NECA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II Secret of the Ooze action figures with just the nighttime cityscape.
No comparo to the DCC BAS Batcave Diorama? How would you rate this one compared to that, considering DCC Batcave goes for around $125 currently, if you carve out Alfred?
Something I pointed out before; but have you ever seen a building that basically has a sidewalk on the second level? I mean I totally understand why they did this to have more space to display your figures, but I'm not sure if it exists in real life. And if so, what would be the purpose of that?
@@dHuntersReviews I think the proportions on this thing look pretty solid. Personally I wish the sidewalk would have been increased in size (to maybe twice the size of the existing) as it feels like the yellow line is too close to the bldg. IMO.
I don’t think that’s what it’s for, an added bonus perhaps. No way they made it compatible with other companies accessories intentionally. I believe they added those for future accessories, I think the cartoon version might come with some different stuff.
I'd prefer to have 'extra' bricks left, then to be shorted on them ( and I 100% guarantee the machine fills them by apx weight, so you'd get slightly diff amounts between sets ) I also left a couple windows "open" to have figures half in/out-Deadpool in his boxers is perfect for that ;)
@@dHuntersReviews didn’t know anything about 1:12 scale pre-made dios. I saw quit a few pics with dios on Instagram but I figured that those guys scratch built them. This is awesome !
I've been checking everyday..and *finally* they arrived. You've definitely learned to never buy from that company again. But yeah, awesome you finally got them.
That’s really cool dude. I’m mentally strategizing mine. You gave me a ton of inspiration. What an AWESOME thing you did by incorporating the classic play sets. 👍🏼
It had to be done.
Great video, just ordered one from BBTS, so hype.
Great reviews man....love the collection and set up. Just getting back into buying toys and doing toy pics.
Your channel has been a godsend.
Thanks for the kind words and the view!
I still haven't taken my Turtles Street Scene diorama out of the box. Same with the firehouse. Probably need to get on top of that before I get too old and my rheumatoid arthritis won't allow it.
Fantastic.. Very comprehensive review indeed.. This is a must have.. This will be perfect for the Neca Gargoyles or TMNT.
Perfect for almost anything

Fantastic review - bravo. Is it possible to get dimensions of the brick and windows/doors for those that want to recreate it? Thanks
You want to know how big exactly the doorway and windows are?
@@dHuntersReviews That would be great, I plan to make this myself, as I can't afford the real thing, your review is an excellent reference point.
Windows 3.25 inches wide 5.0 inches tall
Door about 3.2 inches wide about 7.8 inches tall

You’re quite welcome.

Agreed, I hope they give us some kind of expansion set.

The dark one will probably never get reissued

Can you stack these vertically if you put the two lower floors on top of each other and then the two upper layers on top of each other?
Won’t lock into place so it won’t work
@@dHuntersReviews thanks buddy
Hello. Would you mind telling me how tall is the dropdown gate/door? I just ordered this and a 3D printed actual door with a doorknob and just want to make sure they're compatible size-wise.
I’ll have to measure them for you
Please remind me
Thank you for measuring the depth of the diorama. Needed to know if it'll stick out off the edge of my shelf (it will). lol
No problem, happy to help buddy.
Put the ghostbuster rooftop on the NECA roof. You’ll have to prop the back of the GB roof since it’s so deep. It wonder what that would look like on top of the TMNT roof.
I don’t think it would
It has sidewalk would look weird floating in air
You could recreate the side-scroller Robocop game with these. That would be awesome.
I know exactly what you’re talking about! Yes!
32:25 What is the guy in the tank top
God I can’t remember his name
It was like the crook or something
Hm....yeah, there really was no need to put that NECA shipper box within another box. I've seen very precious items that people want to keep the box pristine (or delicate items) shipped with much less.
How many predator figures you think it can hold?
Just one diorama
30 if you cram them in not too hard

It gets lots but I want more
Technically, this is 1:10h scale

I did not compare them as they are completely different types of dioramas, The Batcave is absolutely amazing. One of the best dioramas in the scale.
You didn't ask about comparing it to the Batman v Superman Batcave?
@@dHuntersReviews Nah, didn't consider that one of comparable quality.
Something I pointed out before; but have you ever seen a building that basically has a sidewalk on the second level? I mean I totally understand why they did this to have more space to display your figures, but I'm not sure if it exists in real life. And if so, what would be the purpose of that?
2nd floor Bldg. overhang. Only 1st floor has the sidewalk (which has a bit different design with shading in the sidewalk cracks)
That's a good point, there are definitely buildings with ledges, but this one proportionately seems a little bit extreme.
@@dHuntersReviews I think the proportions on this thing look pretty solid. Personally I wish the sidewalk would have been increased in size (to maybe twice the size of the existing) as it feels like the yellow line is too close to the bldg. IMO.

The 40 different spots are for flight stands
