Cho Jung-Sok's acting is simply sensational. It is refined, bold and firm but also torn, sensitive and vulnerable. As I have been watching Korean dramas for many years this was one of the most refined performances I have seen so far. I don't know how he did it but hats off to him.
#ChoJungseok is always great in his roles but this one is exceptional; he really exudes power in this role. His battle of words with the Dowager Queen are always so clever. Loving the series very much.

After watching K drama for the last 10 years, I have rarely stumped upon such a good actor as Jo. I looked at his background, he started with theatre. I really think this matters a lot. He is so much more of a seasoned actor that other men starring on K dramas. Huge difference.

He is an excellent actor and I was truly impressed with how he portrayed the King with deep emotional content. Episode 13 was absolutely brilliant for me with all the revelations. I had to watch that episode again after seeing the finale. I look forward to seeing him again in other kdramas.
The series is incredible, story, locations, clothes. The actors' interpretation. And especially the actor Cho Jung-seok, who I didn't know. His eyes are as bright and round as the stones in the game of baduk. I'm marathoning all the films and series he's starred in. That one scene he was asking why she'd come back was unforgettable, i literally stopped breathing. Watched that scene 10 times and their acting, just wow. Also their dialogues were really well-written too, i had to read the subs 2 times to understand their allusive sentences.

Yep. Many of the best Korean actors are theater trained, and a huge number of the older ones (50 and above were theater trained, and it shows).
