Played American 🏈 and went to high school with Chris. It's so surreal seeing him on the biggest stage. We are from a very small mountain town. I wasn't close to him, but I remember hearing him play music in school at a friend's house. Her brother was one of his bandmates at the time. We always thought he was good but could never have dreamed of this success.

Chris Stapleton, as a veteran brought tears with love for of patriotism for all Americans. If I was an artist I would respectfully decline the invite to sing the national anthem.God blues America. He is the best of this generation, world class. He opened the blues to my soul.

Such a heartfelt and mesmerizing performance. His CMA performance of "Cold" is probably my favorite. What's not to love about his music. I did see an interview before he sang, and he was a bit nervous about doing it. He didn't have anything to worry about.... spectacular!
I didn't know about his interview before he sang, it sounds like that bit of being nervous is one of the reasons he does so well because it was also a form of humility & honesty!!! From the inner heart!!!!
