You have the best showtime with the Gaia2 and you made me happy- it is so much u You can do withe the Gaia2. Thank you so much for sharing and the languagedifferens doesn’t matter, your teaching was so clear as water with sunshine! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
almost ten years i watch your demo Mr. Ujie hope you always healthy... great demo i own original Roland Gaia back then, at 2019 sold due the pandemic... now here is the Roland Gaia 2..
The display is super sharp and using the mod pad as a mouse made me laugh, pure genius. Huge potential for distressed and harsh digital sounds rarely found in outboard gear. Thank you Katsunori Sensei!
Using the pad as mouse is really a nice touch... When you have a software background, that kind of navigation on such a small screen is, of course, pretty tedious.
Looks like a super untamed versatile second board to complement a piano/organ board (SV2, YC73 or Electro) live. Looks like you can get tons of interesting, different pads and leads out of it. I don’t care about the “philosophical” discussion of something sounds analog or digital. It has to sound amazing and surprising. The Wavestation for example sounds (and is) digital, but it’s synthesis is still capable to produce incredible pads and soundscapes… let’s see if Gaia 2 can be a good alternative
Modwave is the one that resembles this synth. Or rather, this is inspired by the Modwave, I think. Wavestation is awesome, now succeeded by the Wavestate.
I was thinking the same thing, but it’s so long since they’ve added any new synthesis to their compatible hardware list I almost wonder whether they will drop the function.
The original Gaia was a rompler with its own qualities and quirks, but it got the job done. This is a completely other synth. But being ZEN-based, every owner of a new Roland synth doesn't need this. Every new Roland synth is based on the same ZEN-technology.
This is not a ZEN core synth. not compatible with zenology. it has some technology of ZEN inside but thats it. it has 2 VA OSC and one WT osc , much more effects then any zencore etc . ;) i bought one so i can assure you its not the same as my fantom
It's a wavetable synthesizer, what do you expect? Also how does something sound hardware? Either something sounds analog or digital. People complain about the most trivial things. When was the last time you released any music?
I would choose option 1 between GAIA 1 and 2 as well. Of course, that's not within the scope of this selection. ROLAND is only recognized for the JP8000.@@chakko007
Really? I'm not sure that's quite true. It is true that certain aspects of many modern synths are software based, but I think the Hartmann Neuron (in spite of it's many shortcomings, lol!) proved that it can still be a great synth, even with software elements. Katsunori-san (and many other very creditable reviewers agree) it's certainly a real step up from the last (rather poor) effort. This doesn't sound like a vst to me. Reminds me a bit of Arturia's MiniFreak.
@@MPHORROCKS Agree, but the last thing that this developer has in mind is the sound! harsh, gritty, plastic and so digital. Sequential, even Behringer! has more decent synth sounds engines. Thanks.
@MPHORROCKS Fun fact: the Neuron had a plugin version (called Neuron VS). It's available for free now (no DRM) if you have an old Mac to run it on. Perhaps that can settle the "plugin vs hardware" debate 😉
You can only use arpeggios and sequences if you can use clicktracks when performing live. If the synth doesn't provide that, those sections are worthless.
it sounds verry metalic it should sound warm like the legend ROLAND synths and still no aftertouch 22 polyphonie is to less it looks nice like the minilogue (in the mean time he was sounding metalic to i guess has somethings to do with the metalic silver color :D ) is not for me anyway cant use this in my productions

Love your demos❤
Maestro de maestros . Enhorabuena por el vídeo y su trabajo 😉
Great demo thank you:)
Fantástico, como siempre. Muy buena presentación del producto. Gracias.
Bonito esse synth é.
11:11 This really sounds like a lead patch I made with my Korg Minilogue XD.

Good candidate for omnisphere Hardware integration

Loopop to check out its specs Katsunori to check out its soul.
😂👍
Yamaha Montage M review ?
I read that the presets are ❤❤❤❤❤ly
Looks like Spire VST by Reveal Sound (Plugins VST, AU). It is a pitty that it does not have drums.

Roland has created the Korg Radias
Does this anything new that my Fantom 7 can't do?
No
Nope
To what can it be compared? Out of price.
A poorly tuned Minilogue Xd w poor user osc
It most resembles the Korg Modwave.
The original GAIA has a thicker sound that resembles hardware more,
while the new GAIA 2 has a sound that is too much like native plugins.
It's a wavetable synthesizer, what do you expect? Also how does something sound hardware? Either something sounds analog or digital.
People complain about the most trivial things. When was the last time you released any music?
Have you ever had experience with hardware? If not, I can understand your response.
GAIA 1 sounded pretty bad for hardware.
I would choose option 1 between GAIA 1 and 2 as well.
Of course, that's not within the scope of this selection.

What's the GM like?
This isn't a Gaia1 or one of the ROMplers like Integra-7 or Juno-Di.
that sequencer refused to cooperate
Wow.. Roland finally used normal pitch & mod wheels instead of that goofy joystick. I don't even see the notorious d-beam!
Those spare JD-Xi mini wheels had to go somewhere, from the looks of it 😅
I would have preferred them on some Boutique, not this.
A big VST inside a big plastic box. Nice, Roland. Thanks musctrackjp

Having a dedicated controller for a softsynth isn't a bad thing.

I guess VA is no longer popular
Roland makes a lot of VAs, and VA VSTs are super popular.
