They need to copy the Maverick, offer all trims with either a 1.6T hybrid or a 2.5T, drop the 2.5 NA its too weak and economy sucks compared to Maverick's 40mpg.

2.5 non turbo is a slouch for sure. Hybrid would definitely help. I would still choose this over Maverick mainly because of the looks and towing capacity.

I disagree, everyone who has tested the turbo will complaint about the NA being slow... Well it is definitely slower than the turbo but it is onpar with all the nonperformance crossovers on the market. I own the NA Santa Cruz and have no complaints about it's performance. In a year of owning it I have never felt that it has not enough power to do what I expected. Not everyone needs the fastest car on the road... 🤷‍♂️

I should say its too weak for its MPG. I think people are willing to tolerate less peak performance if its super efficient, and visa versa. So 22mpg combined is great for the turbo because its so fast, whereas 23mpg combined for the non-turbo is not so great because its probably about as fast as the Maverick hybrid but the Mav does 40mpg. @@photo_n_art

@@photo_n_art Whats the mpg that you are getting?

@@MattTheCarguyI don't drive it like a racing car so I get actually a better mpg than advertised. On highway with speed around 70 mph I get around 30 mpg but onece you go over 80 mph the mpg will drop. Around town without racing between traffic lights I get 24-25 mpg depending on the distance and traffic condition. The trip computer shows my total average in a year of ownership 25 mpg... So in reality this is not the most gas efficient car out there but not the worst either. For a comparison my Mazda 3 with a 2.0 148hp engine was averaging 26 mpg town and 33 mpg highway 🤷‍♂️
