The movie its about is a good movie too. (if you didnt know the song is about a movie about a serial killer. the lyrics are talking about scenes in the movie. Ie: using a shovel to slit someones throat etc.) it was one of dannys favourite movies at the time so he wrote this song about it.

So glad to know that there are people who grew up in and cherish the scene still to this day like I do.. I mean some of the greatest music and shows to ever come out of an era. You can’t recreate this shit. ANYONE who I get to listen to all these scene bands and alike that came out of the era becomes a fan. It’s pure gold.
P.S. don’t know wtf asking Alexandria is doing now, it’s nothing like this and so I just come here and reminisce.
The collab of Asking Alexandria and Alesana was amazing and it happened during the the peak of the scene music back in 2009. Hell, even Shawn Milke was brought to the stage a couple of times to perform this song live with Asking when both bands were touring in 2009/2010. Good times. 🎧

watched the movie Mr Brooks again recently and it took me instantly back to this song still a classic and still one of the best songs written about a movie in my opinion!
How can you look at this and not say they were better before? A full engrossing story, orchestra, a satisfying breakdown to the final realization of the narrator. What a beautiful story, wish they would do something like this now. A completely fulfilled vision.

I love how well Shawn sounds during the chorus. His voice helped make this song so much better.
The scream at the ending and it’s overall tone reminds me of the movie during Mr Brooks death. A perfection audible presentation of dying and not wanting to leave.
