Trampa's debut LP is here! What are you guys making of 'Disrespect' so far? Which tracks of the 10 are your picks? What do you make of the genre experimentation on the album? Drop all your thoughts in the comments! 💎💙
Yo I gotta say , I'm very impressed with this debut Trampa album. 10 tracks, all bangers, only 35 minutes so it doesnt overstay its welcome. There's a great mix of Trampas signature sound and a bunch of him experimenting, doing genres I never would have thought he even COULD touch. It’s got a cohesive minimal sound with really neat samples and an overall spooky atmosphere that helps tie it together and feel like a full album instead of just a bunch of singles. Dare I say, it’s a pretty classy album and I can’t really get enough of it rn. Great stuff! edit: youre absolutely right about the dubstep being pretty samey to each other just on this album, and overall nothing new for Trampa. But that doesnt really bother me personally - he's doing his thing on his debut, and you could even say the songs being so similar helps add to the album feeling cohesive. plus, as someone who hasnt really been a huge trampa fan before and who hasnt listened to much of his music, i'm kinda shielded from feeling like "oh, hes doing THIS again." great review as always tho boss!
This Trampa album has to be one of my favorite albums of the year. its classic trampa, and yet very diverse, almost all of it executed right. 2020 wasnt great for him but this album definitely makes up for it. Love it
This is such a good Album! My favorite ones were the tracks that UKF Dubstep posted in their channel! Your Luv, Sick Head, Generals, and Shank. And tracks like Pull Up, and Back 2 Back are fantastic! Definitely the best Trampa project yet! For the first debut album that’s impressive! Definitely the Dubstep album of the year for me.
Very interesting album, not at all what I expected. Best tracks are absolutely Generals and All Night, the departures from Trampa’s usual style are so wild to hear at last and I’m loving every second of them.
I think this album may be Trampa’s best work yet. It’s okay to have a signature style, but I feel like trampa’s tracks were too similar, to the point where I felt like it was an insult to my intelligence to call some of his songs different songs. But, the variety on this album makes it the first project from him in years that I’ve enjoyed.
Incredible LP. The only real issue I have is that there's one ID he teased back in november which should have been on here imo, but sadly we didn't get it. My first impression was "good LP, that's it doe", but a few more listens and the fact we finally got the RF VIP really elevates it higher in my ranking. I'd give it an 8,5-9/10. His production quality is amazing, no song is worse than really good if u ask me, I love both his heavy and experimental side, the atmosphere is great and the voice samples are basically the best thing about it. Absolutely loving the british charme they encapsulate and convey. Fucking amazing. Review was amazing as well mate.
This album isn't amazing or anything, but I really think it's quite a fun listen. Sounds like he had a lot of fun putting it together. The experimental tracks were a big surprise to me, and they're executed quite well. I do agree that we do get too much of a particular approach here with Pull Up, Your Luv, Shank, and Illest having quite similar ideas, but I also think there is some variety within the dubstep. Disrespect is stop start and imposing whereas the others are more full on, sick head being the only riddim track on the album, and generals achieving the deeper sound effectively. Also, the production across the album is much better than I've heard from him before. The atmosphere is consistently eerie and gloomy. Admittedly, I can't say there's a track here I love all the way through, not many special ideas here, but I think it's a really fun and cohesive listen. Also can't go without mentioning the 90s breakbeat and rave influence across this album. Has a vintage sound, and I like that about it.
Unrelated, but are you going to be making a tribute video to Pierce Fulton, who sadly passed away? You don't have to, if you weren't a fan of his music or didn't listen to him much, but its still a loss for the edm community rip.
l agree with you that his style is quite same for a long period of time, but when i heard disrespect, pull up, illest i was pretty happy with that. my first thoughts were like “wow, another banger, sooo cool” maybe this is trampa’s personal feature to make heavy bangers and not change his style generally
For me your luv is best on EP, really all elements are there.Biggest disapoitment is generals, such a waste of oportunity to have some heavy track, shank is also kind of.
might be a bit controversial but i hate trampas music since it all sounds the exact same to me, it all just sounds like clones of jet fuel and runners (also people do tearout so much better than him imo). this album? its not good and is honestly one of the worst things ive heard all year. same thing as always from him and the experimentation blows chunks, dude even somehow made space laces sound boring. its telling the only part of this i liked was the intro on the first track.
yeah the space laces collab i was disappointed by, knowing space laces can get creative, the track was very generic, but i did hear both their styles there, it was just too generic for them
@Lord Necrobrine Almost nobody enjoys every song a producer puts out. It's something that I myself keep reminding myself as I'm working on an album on my Metronoid channel.

Personally not massive on Trampa's style but I enjoyed this quite a bit.
I’m exactly the same way. Glad I could enjoy something from him fully.

That space laces collab quite underwhelming IMO. it felt like trampa uses same pattern as "Runners" that i've been heard for many years.

Back 2 me was fantastic and generals was simple and well done. All the others were ok but they kinda felt like filler.

What's this? opposite day?
Generals and Shank are the most unique track of the LP and in contrary Your Luv is the weakest of the whole album.

I like Trampa because his stuff always sounds CRISP. Even if the ideas aren't always the best, the production almost always carry through.
Disliking the album isn’t really controversial (all good if you like or dislike), but this is a pretty crude way to put your distaste honestly
"Jet fuel" haha

majorly surprised at how much i loved this one - Space Laces collab kicked my ass and stole my girlfriend
