Nothing really beats the unreliable narrator. Yes, Slenderman could have done this to him. At the same time we could be entangled in the narrators insanity, a victim of his sick mind. Psychological horror really is the best.

It’s the only time the slenderman was truly scary to me, because he wasn’t the big bad wolf, or the evil monster attacking from the woods. It’s equally likely that this monster which took your family apart and put you in a mental institution was only the manifestation of your own mental instability. In that way the slenderman is all too real and any one of us could be haunted by him or something like him.
I found you in 2012, right at the end of highschool. It took me years to be able to play the video game without fear lol everything you've ever done has been awesome. The only story that every fucked with me was cupcakes though. I only say that in hope others remember 🤣
