I've been gc1 / gc2 for a few seasons. The main difference I see between your plays here and the other players is that you have a much stronger understanding of positioning on the field relative to other players; and you're taking that into account to do things like save boost, make smarter first touches, to know when to go to backboard for a save, and probably most importantly avoiding double commiting with tmate. Your plays and saves are simple because you naturally position yourself well to begin with. I think this is where gc's (and I) are lacking most.
Sure, but the speed at which he is doing everything is ridiculous. Everything he is doing is simply faster than everyone else, positioning definitely helps that, but the speed at which he reads the plays and whether he can beat the other players is on another level.
Squishy, I think my problem is not taking my finger off drive! I think us GC1 players think we are better than we are because we think we are playing fast but in reality we are waiting boost and not positioning well. Watching you play it seems like you have full control and are reading the game perfectly! This video was a great help for me!

i think the reason squishy says “people claim they can do this stuff but i don’t see it” is because he’s spending 2 or 3 games in a rank😂 that’s a tiny pool of evidence to pull from. i’ve played probably 1000 matches or more in the C3 and low to mid GC’s. i have been double reset on and consistently full field air dribble reset on tons and tons of times.
@@natedouglas7781this I can flip reset but not in all situations just specific ones usually, but I can full map air dribble and double tap in champ, I’d say a lot can, there people playing tho where I’m confused because they have no mechanics speed positioning or game sense but are still champ, it’s a crazy rank
Ngl although the mechs you show in the series sometimes are a bit crazy the general rules you’ve said have gotten me playing better than I’ve ever been. Dont challenge when your opponent is closer to the ball (mostly) and don’t over complicate yourself. Used to airroll way too much now I’m trying to keep it clean and simple. In regards to the comments about good mechanics in Diamond and above. I 100% see flip resets and air dribbles in Diamond. I dunno if they're smurfs or hardstuck, I personally can't do any of those. I think the reason you don't see it, is because you only play those ranks a few times before ranking up. You don't consistently play Diamond for 10+ games for example. So you're only seeing a small snapshot of each rank. The tips on positioning has helped massively, even without good mechanics I'm playing a lot better in Diamond. Love the content, big fan, keep it up!
Literally like 1 out of every 4 games i play in diamond, someone is doing flip resets or some crazy shit that shouldn't happen within that rank. I play with friends so it might happen more often as a result of being partied up. Anyway, great video as always.
"I'll just make a simple touch to their back wall, nothing too crazy." *Opposing team starts to 1v1 each other for no reason and one of them does an air dribble double reset musty double touch into his own net* "See, it's about making the easy play"
Squishy makes holding back onto GCs so easy. I'm low diamond at best still trying to figure out aerials. I just work too much though to stay consistent.
the difference between EU and the american servers are actually insane, i don’t think i’ve seen a single flip reset in this series yet but in my c2 lobbies players are doing cross map air dribbles into flip reset doubles, granted they’re probably used to be gc1+ and dropped down but even so i come across it every other game but in this series haven’t seen a single reset or double tap from the opponents
Seems like at this rank, no matter how much Squishy tries to tone it down, players quickly get discouraged realizing they are getting outplayed by such good control. Then it's probably not too long before they are like 'yup another smurf... gg go next'. I think players are a lot less likely to go for the flashy stuff, when it doesn't feel like they have juicy space and a favorable scoreboard to get away with it, especially when they are getting whooped by their opponents. But all that said, its still great to know that simple play can be super effective, with enough understanding of flexible less risky decision making.
The insane mechanics people are saying they see at these ranks are usually in 3s because it’s full of pre-mades with Smurfs. I’ve seen loads of crazy plays in champ that are way beyond my level
since squishy reads all comments, i so hope for an answer to this. at 1:28 after you made a play, you went again and it feels like the correct play was to steal their boost and go behind your teammate, bc he should have better view of the opponents. felt like you autopiloted, but i wanna know if it was the actual correct play. btw that spot is the most common for a double commit, people steal the boost and want to keep going but they arent pros they lose momentum basically leave the mate in a 2v1, or the mate goes since he has been watching the whole time.
"Nothing too crazy, you can all do this as well, ... also I didn't air roll!" *Proceeds to be 300% better in speed, precision of touches, hardness of hits, decision making, 50/50s, aerial control, quick turns, recoveries, counter attacks, pressure, positioning, reading the opponents, car control, reactive defense, etc.* 😂
As a GC2 I've seen champ 3s hit flip resets and other crazy shots/double touches. It's not too often it happens but some games you can clearly tell they are more mechanical than others. Hell I've seen champ 2s chain wall dashes there may be some consistency issues with these players but they are out there.
Awesome series to show us what’s going on for road to SSL. I feel like this experience is great for the viewers but terrible for your opponents 😂 be nice my guy they need their elo
Holy im gonna switch to na servers tomorrow ( no hate squishy i know u are insane and u are my favorite player of all time ) but im 1550 in eu atm, and i remember when i was at 1470, but can do triple resets, always full speed. Insane saves, so hopefully i can get to 1600 tomorrow in na. 90 ping is playable, love you ❤
Remember when you did the only passing in solo standard? You should try that again a road to ssl solo queing 3's and only play support. That'd be dope.
I wouldn't say the mechanical diamonds-gcs are consistent but they definitely can do it. Diamonds are more of a peak, but c3 gc1-2 definitely can hit them more often than not. Better to treat it like they can in my experience.
I’m a high gc1-mid gc2 with consistent mechs (not as consistent as squishys) and get called a Smurf all the time, but I admit my positioning and challenges I make are not the smartest, I will use ur rtssl vids to help me analyze some replays and see if it can help me get ssl
This is the rank that I have been stuck in for awhile your tips are making me better I just wish you could see the consistency and skill of my opponents. Your don’t look the same. And I know it’s the same rank man but I’m telling you it feels like I’m playing GC2s every game
Yeah these are the lower level gc’s when you easily get the win, very rarely you find gc1s that can do a ton of crazy consistent mechs however they lack in other areas of their game like gamesense. The average gc can do air dribbles at a good level and flip reset well 1/10 times
i’ve seen it the last few vids, and i can promise u a single flip reset off a dribble/wall shot is not ‘too much’ it’s a common occurrence in champ2+, or atleast it is on eu idk ab NA, but i promise it’s not too kuch
yh I can't lie I have gone against gc2-gc3 in gc1 and I had to sweat my head off, It's kinda crazy that Squishy is saying he's not seen that kind of consistency in GC, at times I even get gc1s who have pretty good mechanics, where they can reset air dribble or whatever but it's just hard to defend
hey squishy, i was wondering why you removed the controller cam just like the ones in your older videos. i learned quite abit from it! i was wondering if its gonna make a return anytime soon
It is interesting how far you can get with pretty minimal mechanics with insane consistency. I'm D3 and you haven't done anything that I absolutely can't do yet.

When i was in gc, i was able to flip pretty well. Almost constantly, my highest rank ever is gc1 div 4. Keep up the vids, squishy
I want to see a series called “clipping to SSL”!
Always a good day when u post a vid. Thanks for what u do man
Surprised it took this long for players to catch on tbh
"Nothing too crazy, you can all do this as well, ... also I didn't air roll!"
*Proceeds to be 300% better in speed, precision of touches, hardness of hits, decision making, 50/50s, aerial control, quick turns, recoveries, counter attacks, pressure, positioning, reading the opponents, car control, reactive defense, etc.* 😂
Moment of silence for all the bodies left in Squishy’s path over the years
I love squishymuffinz with all my heart
Wish i could be as calm as you could when it comes to rocket league, i get so frustrated at myself when i make a mistake or lose
Keep up the content squishy love the content. You're the goat!!!
are these pre recorded? (like before last season ended)
As a GC2 I've seen champ 3s hit flip resets and other crazy shots/double touches. It's not too often it happens but some games you can clearly tell they are more mechanical than others. Hell I've seen champ 2s chain wall dashes there may be some consistency issues with these players but they are out there.
Don't care u suck freelo 😂😂😂😂
kinda random but the background music is so nice, very nostalgic
Awesome series to show us what’s going on for road to SSL. I feel like this experience is great for the viewers but terrible for your opponents 😂 be nice my guy they need their elo
squishy is forever goat
Muito bom, você faz parecer tão simples kkkkkkk
Hope yall have a great life and time and day and week and month and year ❤🙏
bro i swear it’s not us who think we are champ gods, its the opponents, some of the ppl i verse are just wayyy too nutty
Are u gonna do the question of the week segment any time soon?
This is the rank that I have been stuck in for awhile your tips are making me better I just wish you could see the consistency and skill of my opponents. Your don’t look the same. And I know it’s the same rank man but I’m telling you it feels like I’m playing GC2s every game
FINALLY BEEN WAITING FOR THIS (IMMA GET MY FOOD)
Who else loves this series?
anyone know the name of the song that starts from 6:35?
hey squishy, i was wondering why you removed the controller cam just like the ones in your older videos. i learned quite abit from it! i was wondering if its gonna make a return anytime soon
I’ve been watching like all of the episodes and as a champ I might get better from watching you
Will you also be doing 3s Squish?
It is interesting how far you can get with pretty minimal mechanics with insane consistency. I'm D3 and you haven't done anything that I absolutely can't do yet.
Ur horrid shush u can't do shi ur d3 uninstall
Which controller has better durability? I bought two dualsense controllers and the left stick got possessed by a demon. When I go right slightly, it goes max left..
It’s expensive af. Some say the new batch got some stick rework from Sony. Idk
Did you guys know? He actually played an RLCS tournament a day ago. I almost missed that information in the video.
squishy in gc "Do Gc's even flip reset? I don't know but I didn't air roll"
We need ghost goals like flakes!
