Beautiful work! Too flashy for my own taste, as I would have done a paint matched push to open shadow reveal door for that application, but it’s me. Love your craftsmanship and attention to detail. Only thing that you want to watch out for, if you don’t glue equal size material using same type and quantity glue on the other side, the door might warp with solid oak strips pulling the mdf, causing it to bow. I once glued 1/4” fir plywood to 3/4” particle board. Two very stable materials and it bowed like crazy.
Very nice. Did you measure the jamb to stand proud of the drywall? If one wished to make a door and add trim, the jamb should be measured to be flush with the finished wall, correct?
It's 10/10 for sure - not really relevant to your attic door but with the white oak mdf for the window sills - are you concerned at all about potential water damage - say you left the window open and it rained over night? Curious what you do to clean / maintain your finishing sponge? Thanks for the bowed board clamping trick - always learning from these videos and love that you truly care about all aspects of the room(s)
Hey Ryan, Thanks a lot. Tbh im not that concerned about water damage, more than likely the finish I used should work to repel it but worst case I sand it down and refinish. The sponges I use for finishing I buy from the dollar store and are usually singular use. I may maybe get a second project out of one but usually I chuck them out. Thanks for your support dude.
Love the door. Only thing I would change about it is having a recessed handle but that would be a headache with the oak veneers and what not. Do you have white oak coursing through your veins/arteries at this point? Lol love the dope projects.
I considered a recess handle but with the mdf core it makes it slightly more difficult. I also thought one of the strips curving out to make a handle would be cool but the door was fancy enough for the space its in so I kept it simple. Thanks for the support my dude
What do y'all think of the new door?????? YEWWW
Looks good, where do you get your lumber from?
I'd be happy with doors like this anywhere in my house, let alone an attic door I'd rarely use!
Thanks so much
Amazing looking door man... I have refurbish all the old hollow core doors in my home. People love them.
Its the way to go
Yeeew! Nicest attic door I’ve ever seen!
Yewww, Thanks Dude
So cool. Love the detail of rounding over the pieces to make them stand out. Keep it up!
Thank you! Cheers!
The first seeing you with the door made you look like a giant 😂
What kind of oil did you say you used at the end? I love the finished color of it! None of that orangey look that I loathe! 👏🏻
Thanks, I use osmo oil in “raw”
@@RadDadBuilds looks fantastic. Thanks!!!
Looks epic!
Thank you

Thanks bro
It looks great, how long was the work in hours?

Do you mind sharing the hardware as far as latches, handles, hinges, etc.?

What about fire code protection? Does it meet requirements?

Why not make it taller since you have the room to do so ?
