I always really look forward to your update posts because you are the only content creator who includes the Camera 2 API & Widevine Netflix playback support in full reviews and is very detailed. ❤
Great device. But you are right the 2x tele is a bit weird putting in here The 3.2x with macro capabilities from the Xiaomi 14 would be better or a good ultrawide as this device would be perfect for vlogging. (if they fix the external mic issue) They even allow for taking 4k videos in the folded state which is something I miss from Huawei P50 Pocket and Oppo FInd N3 Flip.
The 50mm tele is not about the zoom range as much as it's about getting the right subject/background compression for portraits. 2x digital zoom always looks worse than a proper 50mm portrait lens, even if the details are on par (usually they're not). I'll admit I do think the xiaomi 14's telephoto would be a bit cooler to have because I do greatly enjoy macro photography, and that extra range helps justify its existence for many, but I'll admit that I find this recent trend of adding 50mm portrait lenses to flip phones cool! I wanna see more photography focused phones include that focal lenght.
The screen on the outside is the whole point. Having a smaller screen means I only see notifications alongside limited interactions (Potentially making me use my phone less, as I won't wander off to a social media app). If I don't have a screen outside, I have to open my phone for every notification I get, making the flip/hinge redundant. But I do get that it does make it more flimsy, maybe Samsung could go back to the smaller screen.
Generally nobody in China uses cables to transfer files between phone and pc, do everything online/with wechat so perhaps that's why they don't care about only USB 2.0
Camera got a firmware update and you see from my samples it’s fine. Overheating and USB 2.0 are the issues and then the Xiaomi software they never learn.
Han doesn't know how to set up camera settings on Xiaomi Mix Flip. (Intentionally) When you set up camera on Xiaomi Mix Flip is better than Samsung, Motorola...
Hi Chris, i want to buy a high tier camera phone, i'm between Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Honor Magic 6 Pro and Oppo Find X7 Ultra, which of these would you recommend to me, taking a general look at the phone?
Im wondering if the camera cover lenses reeeally need to be as big as possible. Im pretty sure Xiaomi could have made them smaller and gain a bit extra display. Other than that i really like the look of this phone, that rear screen especially.
No flip phone is designed for intensive tasks like gaming because of its inherent limitations and split battery. There’s a good reason why Samsung doesn’t include DeX on the Galaxy Flips. I would recommend the Flip to casual smartphone users rather than power users. Compared to the Galaxy Flip, there are a few pros and cons. Although I’m not a fan of flip phones due to their limitations.
Yo i need some of your advice, currently is it worth to get the Mi 11 ultra for 299$? I want it specifically for its camera and zoom capabilities, would you recommend it to me? Or is it worth paying 100$ more for s21 Ultra? Does S21U's camera justifies the 100$ price difference? (I don't have much money to afford latest and greatest s24s and Xiaomi 14s)
I agree with you. I prefer zooming to ultra-wide. However, as you mentioned, 3X is more logical since 2X is now cropped to the primary camera. It’s an odd choice, but I do notice that 4X offers better zoom capabilities compared to the primary camera.
Wow, is it really USB 2.0?? Would be a dealbreaker for me. Waiting that long when transferring media to my PC is not acceptable, not for any phone over $100 in 2024.
For a first gen it isn't bad. There's a few pros over the Samsung. Give it a few iterations and it'll be a lot better than the z flip (minus the software side of things)
The only thing this Mix Flip has that is better than the Galaxy Flip 6 and Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is its battery 🔋 size. If you want a Flip, buy the Galaxy Flip 5 or the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, you can find them quite easily at $600-$700.
Not only that. The Mix flip cover screen is larger, almost 2x higher resolution, much more usable and certainly better looking than Z flip 6 (the ugliest among all except for fanboys). Apart from the significantly larger battery cramped into slim profile, it also charges much more quicker than Z flip 6 or Razr 50 Ultra. Battery life and camera sensors on Razr 50 Ultra is kinda pathetic so difficult to recommend this to anyone. Nothing great about Z flip 5 and Razr 40 ultra, infact they have much more worst battery life and cameras. For the same price, I'd suggest Oppo N3 flip which still have the best battery life and cameras on flip phone till date. The cover screen is more usable and supports almost 100 apps now.
If you see it that way, then you shouldn't have a smartphone at all. What do you think Google does with the data from the assistant, which by the way runs permanently in the background regardless of the phone... Yes, Apple also collects your data. There is no device these days that DOESN'T collect your data. There are even refrigerators that are networked.

Yeah some odd moves and the USB 2.0 type-C port.

Xiaomi 14 Optical is 2.6x only

Mix flip has macro lens on 2x module
Finally ! Been waiting for your review. Really love your honest review man

I hope in the future a brand make a flip phone with just a protection shell on the outside. (so whitout a screen/display on the outside)

Would probably use the outer screen to display the calender, would be very helpful
Seems like a nice one, but for myself I think I will always steer more torwards the tablet like folds because less "compromised" for me

I have a question. When you buy phones from china can you change the language of the settings and the camera and does it support 5g?
Only Chinese and English and yes 5G works and 4G.
@@Techtablets thank you for the reply
Hi, will you be reviewing the google pixel range?
No plans to buy them. No google contact.
So cool!
Hey Chris, can you compare pixel 9 pro xl to s24 ultra and 15 pro max
I plan on importing this phone and using it on the tmobile network in the US
I don't understand inches
Why
Hanstechtalk said it has the worst camera and a lumpy hinge
Edit: also the cover screen is not fully usable

@@Techtablets how about the cover screen? Can all the apps properly utilize the cover screen?
Not all no. It's most useful for very minor tasks and apps.
@@Techtablets
You can use 99% of apps on cover screen.
looking forward to your OnePlus Open 2 review
Hi Chris, i want to buy a high tier camera phone, i'm between Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Honor Magic 6 Pro and Oppo Find X7 Ultra, which of these would you recommend to me, taking a general look at the phone?
None. Buy vivo x100 pro or x200 pro
why not have the outer screen on the other side of the cams? selfie reasons?
Exactly that reason for selfies 🤳
Im wondering if the camera cover lenses reeeally need to be as big as possible. Im pretty sure Xiaomi could have made them smaller and gain a bit extra display.

@@Techtablets Thank you mate
charger is provided by none in Europe nowdays
I have just bought the Oppo Find N3 flip still think it's got the best cameras on a flip phone nearly a year down the line
Can we use all apps on the outer screen?
Yes but it's limited with the Flip.
Find N3/Open is still one of the best foldables there is. I can't wait for the Open 2.
Anyone knows when its gonna release globally?
Never
@@tanvirmaali oh nice, here take this 🖕
Personally I prefer a zoom cam over an ultrawide, but maybe more than 2x would have been better
Yea like 3x would have been more usable as 2x digital on the main camera is just as good.
I agree with you. I prefer zooming to ultra-wide. However, as you mentioned, 3X is more logical since 2X is now cropped to the primary camera. It’s an odd choice, but I do notice that 4X offers better zoom capabilities compared to the primary camera.

It sure is and makes no sense whatsoever
No ultrawide? Xiaomi really? You should know and give what consumers want.
They should it doesn’t make sense or the USB 2.0 type-c port 🤦♂️
Unrelated but would you ever review AR glasses such as the xreal air 2? These look very interesting and innovative.
Probably not because I have issues with AR glasses causing dizziness and headaches.
