We have entered the fight to defend the true Catholic Church!

A powerful homily given by Fr. Thiago Geraldo, EP, on the eve of the Heralds of the Gospel Cooperator Congress in January, 2020.

David was the very image of the founder of a religious order - different than a priest or a bishop, who can be chosen for this or that position, parish or diocese and who will be succeeded by other priests and bishops. This is not how it happens in the lives of founders of religious orders. (God chooses a particular founder for each order) Why? Because God desires it. As the Gospel says, "It was God Who wanted it."
For the Heralds of the Gospel, of which everyone here is a part, it is Msgr. João Clá Dias who has been chosen...
"This man, Msgr. João, about whom I do not take the word of the media for, not listen to what malicious tongues say about him; this man whom I have seen with my own eyes - whom I lived with for 23 years and with whom I still live - of him, Msgr. João, I can say: I am a priest today, giving this sermon and celebrating this Mass for the Cooperators' Congress, because one day long ago, when still very young, I saw holiness in his eyes. I saw the purity of his habits and customs. I saw his fidelity to the true Holy Church. (for more of this story, listen to the homily.)
Today we celebrate St. Francis de Sales, a holy bishop of noble birth, who suffered through situations similar to those of Msgr. João. When he was still a young boy, he lived in a castle, in an area that is now part of France. A heretic entered the castle where he lived and began to argue with his father, who was a noble. The Saint could not argue, as he was just a little boy. St. Francis de Sales teaches us - he was known as the "Saint of sweetness" - that he is also the "Saint of combat". He took a stick, went to the castle's chicken coop, and confronted his own chickens saying:
"You heretics! You cursed ones! You will never destroy the true Church!"
He, who could not fight with men because he was too young, fought with chickens. Soon this young boy grew and began to study law and theology. At the university, he no longer debated with chickens, but with creatures much worse than chickens - heretics. St. Francis de Sales caused such a reaction to his arguments that the heretics drew their swords right there within the university! St. Francis de Sales, this Saint that the Church celebrates as the 'Saint of Sweetness', which he is, had united within his soul these two virtues: he is a Saint who is both combative and sweet... It is obvious that, like Msgr. João, St. Francis de Sales was calumniated (entire books were published against him since they did not have internet and television)...
And, the great declaration that we make during this Congress, which has not yet officially begun, but whose dawning we already sense in this Mass - made by everyone dressed in this habit, this beautiful tunic emblazened with the red cross - is that we have entered the fight. Thanks be to God!
In a world that only defends the devil, the world and the flesh, we say in a loud voice,
"We belong to Jesus Christ!"
"We belong to Mary Most Holy!"
"We belong to the true Catholic Church, founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ,
under the maternal mantle of Our Lady and the purifying fire of the Holy Spirit!"
"We do not recognize any other but the true Church!"
And here, Msgr. João has a very important role, because he is the Founder of this religious order, he who opened our eyes to the persecution that began in 2019. And do not have any illusions - the devil will not rest from trying to destroy this work. But we will not rest until we have sent all of the devils in the universe to the depths of hell!
