Best fishing is under the dam. Here in Michigan we lost 2 of the best spots below dams when they both burst on the same day. Keep up the great videos we enjoy the hiking and fishing videos you make.
Well done on that first stream - those fish are probably quite used to seeing anglers! Ah, but that second stream! That was a real jewel (as was each fish!). Thanks for another great outing!
We used to live in Afton WY and fished that stream regularly. There are many other good streams in that area with virtually no fishing pressure, unlike the one you are at, which shall remain unnamed.
Great Fishing! Artificial Waterfall are one way of putting it.I would call it for what it is, a dam. A bad thing for all the life in that water, for sure. But fun to watch your adventures as usual.
I dry fly (ultra light weight 2w) on small streams in U.K. for small brown trout.Starting to use tenkara rod this year as well.Caught 2 already this season on it and liking it a lot.
Jesshh.... you started hitting them, I heard your voice change and I said, this dudes on them and knows it and is juiced! 5 seconds later you said " I'm happy and... where I'm supposed to be. " If one has ever experienced that Moment they can't help but laugh and be filled with joy to watch another experience it. Thanks for the Laughs and Joy this AM! Stunning, beautiful, outstanding presentation...pun intended, and nice catches!!
First off I totally enjoy your adventures and I would love to be able to fish those locations. Anyway, I am just getting started with tenkara and I was wondering, are you fishing these flies as dry flies or wet flies.
What Dragontail rod would you recommend for the Wyoming back country? Creeks and lake… Awesome videos looking forward to getting my feet wet in Tenkara… Literally 😆
Tenkara Fly Fishing can do what ever they want. I see what you did there... Most regulations where I live says you are not supposed to be so many feet above and below dams.
Very interesting spot and some very nice trouts! Could you please explain below this comment, or in a future video if you prefere, how to handle those fish that could potentially damage the fishing rod? That's because I recently broke one for this reason, even though I usually fish for trouts no bigger than 25-30 cm and my rod was a nissin level line 360 6: 4. Thanks!
I was just thinking about this very thing. We have fairly large, powerful trout and char. It just occurred to me if a stronger fish broke a section, it's gone! 🤣
It's rare to break a rod like that on a fish that small. That rod should be able to handle a 30 cm fish. My guess is that you were holding the rod at too steep of an angle. You don't really want to hold the rod past 90 degrees (vertical) when you've got a fish on.
Such beautiful fish in a beautiful location, with the leaves turning in the creek perfect! God bless you man, thank you. I have a question about taking curl out of line. I use the line straightener but it doesn’t seem to straighten out very much am I doing it wrong? What do you do to keep your lines straight without a curl?
I take about 2 feet of line between my hands and tighten the line. I do that section by section until I've done the entire line. I've never used a line straightener.
The gear link isn't working for me but I am interested in what line you tend to use the most? I know you have mentioned it in a video before but I don't remember which one.
what is the name this tehnik fishing u dont heave eny gear only rod and line :) nice i can fishing this tehnique in normal river or lakes ? and wher i buy that rod and ewerything to make the fly :) ?
I love the complete disregard for the "No fishing" sign on the fence. Stick it to the man Tristan!

Tristan, been watching your SUV RVing channel for years. just discovered your tenkara channel. WHAT A HOOT! Keep than coming!
You find the most beautiful places to fish and I wouldn't even think fish that size would be there.
I like videos that document small dam removal and the good habitat that quickly returns.. I wonder about the future of this one.
A unique dam location and then, a perfect tenkara creek! Very nice!
Thanks J!
Thanks for all your hiking and fishing videos
Most enjoyable video i have watched in a long time.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
Awesome job love watching your video
thank you for taking us along! i could feel every fish you caught,,, that was a beautiful spot
Thanks for watching!

It sure was! Thanks Michael.
Awesome creek you found. Very nice yellowstone cutties!
Thanks Ed!
That Zerosum is a sweet rod.
It is indeed!

Hooked, excuse the unintentional pun, on your videos. Very addictive. One question, do you ever take a trout or two to eat?
Nope. I didn't grow up eating fish, so I never acquired a taste for it.
Great Fishing! Artificial Waterfall are one way of putting it.I would call it for what it is, a dam. A bad thing for all the life in that water, for sure. But fun to watch your adventures as usual.
Blows my mind how many streams and rivers you guys have over there with trout.
They're everywhere!

6:35 that sign says no fishing lmao
Love your fishing trips, thanks for sharing all your adventures
Thanks Maria!
You fish very nice spots!

Yes, it was! Thanks.
Very beautiful cutthroats and scenery. America has pristine wilderness areas.
It has no shortage of beautiful areas, that's for sure!
Dam, those are some nice fish!
They were beauties, for sure! Thanks for watching.
@@TenkaraAddict Always dam good fish at a dam :^)
No fishing and swimming. 🤣 O right then
No problem. I don't fish and swim at same time anyways...
Lol
I like watching your videos.
Thanks Norm!
Complimenti 👍👍👍

Don't have enough information, sorry. But you might find this helpful: tenkaraaddict.com/choosing-tenkara-rod/
@@TenkaraAddict I actually got ahold of Brent @Dragontail and ended up choosing the Hydra…
6:44 Was that 'No Fishing' sign just a warning that the fish don't bite in that area?
Tenkara Fly Fishing can do what ever they want. I see what you did there... Most regulations where I live says you are not supposed to be so many feet above and below dams.
he could fish where he was standing the sign was for the fenced area on his right
Lol yeah it was just about the area to my right, where I wasn't fishing 😁

There are big tenkara rods made for big fish. I don't really do that kind of fishing, so I normally fish skinnier rods.
@@TenkaraAddict I'm afraid I was doing just that😅.Thank you for the advice!

Just a question, in USA you don’t have a closer period for Fishing ?
Huh?!
yes if you are fishing for trout every state has a open season and a close season depending on what body of water you are fishing.
It is different in every state. In this state (Wyoming), there is no closed period. In the neighboring state (Montana), there is.
That that first fish was a monster have fun with you sharing everything loving it good medicine man
Thanks John!
Nice👍
Good day to fish! I have one question if you may? What is a good non Chinese made tenkara company? On the cheaper side. Lol
If it's not made in China, it'll be more expensive by definition. Nissin is probably your best bet.
The gear link isn't working for me but I am interested in what line you tend to use the most? I know you have mentioned it in a video before but I don't remember which one.
Sorry, yeah the gear link is funky sometimes. It's this stuff, size 3.5: dragontailtenkara.com/products/oni-ryu-org-ll
@@TenkaraAddict No worries. Thank you

It’s in the video title “tenkara”
Tenkara. Yes, you can fish it in normal rivers or lakes. Search for it online and you'll find several places that sell tenkara gear. Have fun!
