Well, they can't all be winners. 😅 Have you read this one? 👻🖤
I am about to get it next week and I’ll let you know how it goes 🖤🖤🖤👻👻👻
So far, it was my biggest reading disappointment of 2021.
I really liked the book but didn’t like how the ending went by way to fast and all of the answers were packed in the last page or so. Also I’m also angry at how elin handled every situation
Yes! I felt the exact same way about this book, especially when it came to the protagonist. This book almost ruined my reading month, but thankfully Sarah Langan’s Good Neighbors saved the day for me. Your eyeshadow looks so beautiful!
I literally thought about our conversation when I finished this book! I knew exactly what you were talking about it, very disappointing. I can’t wait to read Good Neighbors, it sounds awesome! Thanks so much 😊
I'm starting it today
Yes there is a sequel coming in 2022. The Retreat, I think. I won’t read it either. I only read this because of the setting
Yeah me too...I was craving snowy spooky. Did NOT like this book at all.
Subscribed after watching this lol I totally agreed with everything! I literally didn’t care about one of the characters and I just wanted it to be over.
Welcome!! Haha I’m glad you also agree, this book was such a disappointment it’s sad lol
Same! Just subscribed. She hit the nail on the head with the entire review. The setting had SOOOO much potential, but the characters and plot did not deliver 😢
@@TheEdulanto87 I was so disappointed in this! I thought it’d be a favorite of mine for this year but sadly it was the opposite! One of the worst
I just finished this book and I’m confused at the end…who was touching her back again?
its not bad for a debut. but i would love to see if the writings gonna be better in the sequel.
I’ve read much better debuts, so I think this one is way too much of a disappointment for me to check out a sequel.
Yep...not going to read sequel....to many on my tbr to probably read her again
I just need to know who tf was in the trolley or whatever at the end???? Was that a set up for a second book bc it came out of no where and the book felt like it wasn’t wrapped up at all.
just finished it - and yep, i'm with you on all of this! sian x
So so so so disappointed!
“Accidentally unlike able” YES! I didn’t dislike her as much as you, but I really didn’t care about her and I think we were supposed to root for her
Finished reading it this weekend. I was a bit disappointed and somewhat confused. The epilogue was unnecessary. Why did Laure feel the need to flee the hotel? How did Cecile get a hold of Laure's 2nd phone to trick Elin to meet? That timeline doesn't make sense. I can see Cecile getting the phone AFTER the penthouse incident, but before? How? It was never explained.
I agree, there were quite a few plot holes that were never quite explained. The timeline is all over the place and isn’t cohesive at all. I agree about the epilogue, I found it to be a very weird way to go about it all.
@@ErinMegan Glad I found your review while searching here last night. My wife and I are now following you on Twitter. Just me following on Instagram as she doesn't have an IG account. We're both avid readers and look forward to your reviews.
@@michaelmachota2214 Ahh I just followed you guys back! Thanks so much for your support, it means so much to me! 🖤
I don't think I've heard one positive review for this one. That's a shame. I was looking forward to it.
I’ve seen some positive reviews on goodreads, but they aren’t as common as the negative ones! 😳
You’d think Elin would learn from her mistakes after she almost got MURDERERD after finding Laure…but no…she still makes so many more stupid mistakes.
Was so excited too...did not love it. Gave it 2 1/2 stars because I liked the snow setting and spooky sanatorium...liked the short chapters...fast moving. Did not like ending at all...also NOT an Elin fan either.
Ugh I really wanted to read this one especially because the protagonist is a female detective but your complaints sound like something I’d complain about too lol so I’ll pass on this one
That’s how I was as well, she was a really awful protagonist. It was really hard to read at times.
Oh man! I just bought this book and I was so excited to read it 😢
You might like it!! Some people have really enjoyed it.
@@ErinMegan maybe so, but I was hoping it would be atmospheric and creepy even though I knew it was a thriller and not a horror, but I don't think I am going to get that. Bummer.
@@cindywingetbooks yeah I know what you mean! I think that’s really what it ended up lacking and made me dislike it so much. All the elements didn’t really come together like I would have wanted.
@@ErinMegan such a shame. I will still read it soon and see how I feel about it since I already shelled out the money to buy it 😉
I was super disappointed by this book. I was so excited about it and it was just... a total mess. It was really boring until the end and then the end was wayyyyy too much. I was so happy when the book was over.
I 100% agree with you. So sad that I didn’t love this one because I felt like the potential was really there.
This & the lost village has been getting bad reviews everywhere
Seriously??? Noooooo, The Lost Village is one of my most anticipated reads. I just got it in the mail, I’ll have to read it asap.
I just bought The Lost Village as well! I was so looking forward to reading it
