Tried this formation, i did not enjoy it as much I felt as though my players had very poor positioning while building up the attack. And my defenders were living massive gaps in the defense. I prefer the nahweezy formation you reviewed a few months ago. (Im in elite for reference…)

It's usually because the rcm has an higher def awareness stat. The highest goes in the middle just how the AI works. Dumb I know but that's how it is.

Do you what the most authentic AI formation? 4321. Balanced 50 50 balanced direct passing 50 5/6 2/3 1.
Everyone’s instructions on balanced except one of the wingers and the 2 CMs that go on stay back while attacking cover center in order to defend in 4-4-2.

I use Goretzka and I often find him running to the edge of the box and sometimes even making a run so a M/H would be better

H/H on the 6 can work well but only if you are really good at keeping possession when you do your build up, it gives more early pressure but could leave a potential gap if you make mistakes in your build up.
I feel like for most people someone like Zubimendi would be the safer play here.
