What I like about the Chiefs defense is they always have a plan and they’re willing to bet it all on that plan. They make a choice and they commit. It’s rare they look confused.
@@LegitJonex Yes. Good content. It'd help ME if you got a bigger pointer to direct the eyes of the viewers a little better. My eyes aren't that sharp, any more and I don't always see the unmodified mouse-arrow. But I can usually figure out what they're in, unless there's an ambiguous TE/WR.
It’s easy to forget about the Chiefs Defense. This is not a star studded group but as a unit they play good ball. Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo more times than not puts them in position to be successful by mixing the looks to confuse opposing QBs. One thing I have noticed about the Chiefs defense throughout the season is the bend but not break mentality. They have given up yards and big plays but they have never been dominated throughout an entire game and left their offense stranded. Against the Bills in AFC Championship they started fast which allowed for the offense to get off to a fast start. That is called complimentary football. It will take more of that to be successful against the Eagles in the Super Bowl.
"You can hit the quarterback, just do it right" Say it louder for the people in back! The whining this season about QBs faking going out of bounds or faking a slide was ridiculous. If a dude is right on the sideline he should be easy to take out of bounds, just don't miss. You don't have to go flying at the guy full speed and send him flying into the photographers. And don't tell me these guys don't have good enough reflexes to bail on a big hit if the QB slides right before he's in danger. If you go chasing him down to the ground, that's your problem! You don't have to hit a QB who is lying on the ground, he's already down! I'm just throwing this out there, but at 21:37 you're saying Bolton (#32) should be further inside...is he trying to help Chenal (#54) with #73 on the Bills? When the play happens it looks like they were double teaming him to close the gap. Didn't work, but obviously two guys have a better chance of moving one guy.
@ hilarious. original. if you were unbiased you would know that the officiating impacted the chiefs negatively as much as, if not more than, the bills in the AFCCG. unfortunately, you aren't.
Always enjoy your commentary and breakdown of the game Legit! When you were breaking down the over throw from Allen at 2:45, looks like they we in some sort of man/zone combo. It looked to be man up top, and Cover 2 at the bottom with McDuffie. The two high safety look usually indicates zone as the middle of the field is open, and you can usually figure it out by looking at the corners. Are they looking at Josh or their receiver? Bills also have two backs in the backfield, so KC should be in more of a 4-3 over look with those 3 linebackers, #54 should be in that B gap between Danna and Pennel, Bolton in the A gap between Pennel and Jones, and Tranquil in between Karlaftis and Jones ready to attack that C gap/4i. Danna and Karlaftis have outside contain of course. Cook #6, is 12 yards off but can afford to be at 8-10 yards based on who his immediate threat is which is the inside flex TE below who I think is Kincaid. When the play runs, you can see at the bottom that Hollins runs a shitty dig route, Kincaid a drag and the two RB's literally to the left flat so McDuffie takes them because the flats are his responsibility. If Cook is at 8-10 based on how the route was ran, then he's probably picking that pass for sure, but he should actually stay with his deep third based on the routes ran to his side. Hollins crossed his face so he needs to pass that off to Reid just in case one of those backs ran a deep route to his side. Bolton's pass drop is decent, but he has to flip his hips and shuffle with Josh's eyes instead of turning his back to chase where he'll then be underneath Hollins instead of behind and you have Cook over the top as well as Reid #20 who has his choice of playing his deep third, robbing the middle, or bracket Cooper if he felt the corner on his side needed help, which he didn't, so he robbed the middle to where Hollins was at. Just wanted to add a comment for the first time and talk a little football with you sir. Keep up the great work.
That’s the key question. Was he hurt or was it coaching malpractice? Maybe it was something Spags came up with during halftime to limit Cook. It’s certainly curious. I didn’t hear anything after the game about Cook being hurt. Given that the Bills were using the same plays over & over again, even when they were unsuccessful makes me think this was a coaching decision.
They were doing a lot of hurry up offense to keep KC from substituting. A lot of the time they were doing it Cook was on the sidelines. If they brought him back in they would have to give KC time to sub as well. That's a rule change that happened a few years ago. They were trying to wear the defense out. KC has one of the hardest training camps though and I'm sure they practice at a high tempo too. It's hard to wear them out.
From the side angle, Dawkins doesn't look as upright as he does from the end zone on that first clip. From the side, his posture looks OK, but yeah, the pad level is high. From the side, you don't notice it as much until he gets straightened-up, immediately on contact. Maybe they shouldn't stick their QB in the bottom of a pile with his own guy landing on him on the very first snap. That's the kind of play that can rattle a QB's cage and throw him off for the next few plays, which is sort of what happened on that first 3-and-out by Buffalo. Bad throw and KC misses a gift-wrapped interception, but settles for the incompletion and a QB knock-down on their first passing play on 2nd down. That didn't go down as a hurry, but it sure looked like one. KC #20 is Reid, #32 is Bolton, #13 is Johnson, #69 is Pennel, #54 is Chenal 9:28 - Bolton's first to that wide-open lane, so he fills it, right away. Chenal has a free run with no blockers on the 2nd level. He knows the FB doesn't have the ball, so he's just running flat out HB, and then just the HB as soon as he can see (and he sees very early) that the FB doesn't have the rock. That little hitch the HB makes, before he breaks outside helps Chenal gain on the play. Chenal will be a big key to KC's run defense. Philly may try to expose him in coverage, and KC will try to avoid stranding him in coverage a whole lot.
16:10 - #23 (Tranquill) can't use his hands that far down the field, but he can use his feet to get out of the way and head to the flat. The TE who picked him can't swerve into him, so he should be able to dance out of the way of the TE and pass him off while he heads to the left (from offense POV) to pick up the short crosser. It looks like he saw it coming, but let himself get tied up by the TE. That said, that underneath route was wide open clear across the field.
What is one thing you noticed from the Chiefs defense on the first two drives of the game against the Bills?
Love it you the man

Their communication was amazing. I did see the lack of physicality and that needs to be fixed for the eagles considering how strong their o line is

Wowzers. Been enjoying your vids. Appreciate the actual breakdowns instead of just whining about refs
Thanks for watching! It’s easy to complain about the refs but the film will always show the full story.

Wasn't 32/NB's best game, he brought it last SB against the Eagles. Hope he brings the fire again this one.
How confident are you that the Chiefs defense can slow down Saquon Barkley?
In Spagnuolo we trust
Saquon going crazy I see him running for 170 yards+
Darth Spags Rises 🔥
The trenches looks like it will be Eagles to take. I want the Chiefs to win but Eagles might dominate.
I'm confident that they can with the right game plan. They did it to Henry. I'm not betting against Spags.
Are you making a vid on the other drives from the chiefs? Plz continue with the QB sneak as well can’t wait to tune in
Chiefs didn't have to stop the running game. Stop the screen game n shut down Allen from running. Defense was huge late game
Nice breakdowns. Keep em up
