I Switzerland, you were on "Urnerboden" that is the biggest Alp in Switzerland because they have enough place for all the cows. Until 1877 it was forbidden to stay there during winter. The Via Alpina, a trail from Liechtenstein to Montreux leads directly over this alp. According to the news, Portugal has done its homework regarding the pandemic so I guess it is not a bad place to stay during winter.
This is so interesting to know, thanks! No cows when I was there, though. I guess they moved them for the winter.

Some gorgeous scenery you have passed through. Dog poop and punctures, occupational hazards of cycling and walking etc. I guess if you should find that you are not totally happy with the winter sun that you find, there is always the opportunity to move on, head elsewhere. Stay happy.
