This is one of those songs that grows on you
Whoever is on the cowbell is killing it
this song reminds me of how I felt when I knew a relationship was over. it's like, the exact moment it's over for you. you memorize every thing about it, lying face down on the couch, the way the ceiling fan rattles softly, the way the air was humid and somewhat oppressing, and how empty you felt after being walked out on yet again.

Never thought I would be listening to this after 7 years of it's release. The beat is calling for help, the vocals are conveying despair and sadness. The combination of both of the latter creates this masterpiece. Music like this don't exist anymore. Music used to portray feelings and mental statuses one could relate to. This song is a gem to be treasured.

I liked their first album more, but this song is one of my favorites. Definitely top 5 from them. Waves is also really enjoyable.
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Young the Giant and every song they've ever released... Their music is both soothing and energizing. The lyrics to "Mind Over Matter" are a poetic masterpiece. My fav is "Firelight" for it's "rock you like a lullaby quality and "My Body" is the perfect workout jam! The rest of their jams are equally stimulating - LOVE them :)

I remember me and my sister went to watch Incubus in Las Vegas. Young The Giant was the opening band. We both fell in love and been YTG fans ever since that night.

this song has a very 80's vibe in general. that bass. AND teachers has an even more ozzy feel :) If that makes sense. I think he sounds more like ozzy in the chorus

YTG latest album is too polished...overproduced...group got too lackadaisical with lush arrangements...needs to be more naive and less slick...still luv them they just got too caught up with studio technology...
This album is literally half of the music that they've ever produced. At this point the album can't be judged at all, as it's encompasses an equal share of their music. Sure, the self titled album was great, but this was just as great too in its own way.
I understand where your coming from but in all honesty it's good for a band to evolve. I mean, black sabbath used to be a blues band.
