It is VERY important for brides to know the difference between NATURAL and NEUTRAL makeup when talking to your makeup artist. Many brides tell their makeup artists that they want natural makeup and then they are disappointed when they get their photos (I am a photographer) because it looks like there is no makeup at all. Really what she wanted was neutral glam, not natural makeup.
They also better have a picture of the makeup they have in mind and the colors they want for their wedding. Bc that’s why they don’t get what they want 🤦🏻♀️
Re the original post & comment absolutely! I don't understand why people are disappointed or peaved when they don't show a photo of what they want & id think it was pretty obvious that you'd ask for neutral glam - at least to me anyway! I'll be getting married in the next few years; I have a look in mind but will also probably bring my own foundation. I LOVE Tom Fords relatively new foundation - pricey but worth it for longevity & it's soooo good on my combo dry skin. I think the Natasha Denona Glam Palette would be a great choice as well & also the Hourglass pressed powders for a dewy/glass looking finish - I swear by then anyway. I'd advise that most people get a test run of their makeup as well so you know before the day whether it's what you actually want.
@@AnyaAnnika67 I have 18 large & mid ND palettes, I'd be doing my own make up and would use Glam or Biba for my wedding too, depending on the rest of the vibe in dresses / decorations, the time of year I'm getting married etc... Guerlain bronzer and blush, Dior highlight, waterproof Mac Stack & Anastasia dewy set 🥰 Enjoy your wedding day!
This is very true and I am happy that you called out the distinction. But keep in mind-those of us who don’t wear makeup often, just don’t know this terminology. I often wonder do makeup artist carry around sample look books?
Indian wedding makeup is sooo different from a christian wedding. Could you maybe get an indian model and present your version of indian wedding makeup please!
My Son got married last night. The Brides makeup was super similar… The brides gown was a V-neck/ tank top. The MUA brought the champagne/golden highlighter onto her collar- bones, shoulders and her Shoulder Blades in the back…looked sooo pretty
You made me fall back in love with matte eyeshadow. Your explanation on how to use mattes in the crease and achieve a seamless transition look makes so much sense. Feel like I had an epiphany after that 😂
Have you ever tried their foaming cleanser? It smells like Irish spring soap but is amazing at what it does - doesn't dry my skin out but sooo luxurious & cleans my face like no other product. I have the foundation but tbh I'm a bit meh about it; I prefer Tom Fords new foundation & I have multiple skin 'problems'.
Oh gosh this is happening to me now; they do a peachy neutral palette which I'm looking forward to trying! Mine aren't quite hooded as I have very big eyes but the fine lines are creeping in & have found that eye shadow is 'bunching' in on the out corners & it's difficult to get it not to crease. Shame we can't get the eye shadow primer the UK or at least I don't think we can. Looking for some ideas for a day time eye cream as the one I'm using doesn't seem to be doing the job anymore. I think the Estée Lauder synchronicity night time eye cream is fabulous though.
@@AnyaAnnika67 I am using the Cerave eye cream in the morning by itself and evening together with The inkey retinol eye cream… works for me to a certain extent because of course nothing stops aging m…
When Morgan begins an eyeshadow tutorial wirh a palette i actually have, i pay attention. Been married 23 years in October, so no wedding in my near future, but still....😅
This is my favorite beauty tag video. I have found the best eyeshadows ever from seeing my favorite creators and mua one and done recommendations. Amazing video!
I'll be sure to watch the other tutorial. As a wedding guest, this is pretty timely. I don't have to worry about professional photos but I do have almost a week of events (destination wedding). Any ideas for less expensive foundation that also has great longevity? I have normal/combo skin and I currently own Fenty Soft Matte and NARS light reflecting foundation.
I love the maybelline superstay foundation, it’s a full coverage and long wearing matte foundation. It’s great because it’s waterproof, transfer proof and sweat proof and when it dries down you don’t feel it on your face(dry down doesn’t take long, maybe a 1min). You can also sheer it out by mixing it with a moisturizer which will give it a soft matte finish and the formula will perform just as well which in my experience is 15+ hours. I have normal to dry skin so this may differ for you but it’s $10 and I think worth a shot. Also match your shade to the fit me shades even if it’s a fuller coverage
Beautiful makeup look, Morgan! But spf giving flashback is somewhat outdated info. SPFs containing the physical sunscreen filters (titanium dioxide and zinc oxide) may give some flashback. Easy fix is to use a sunscreen with chemical filters. The La Mer foundation actually has chemical sunscreen filters and probably why you don’t see the flashback lol it was just interesting to hear you say skip spf but the foundation has spf in it 😂 But it’s really any setting powders that contain silica (mostly setting powders that say HD) that give that awful flashback.
Hi Morgan I and my husband celebrated 🍾 our 33rd wedding anniversary on 16th June and in 1990 makeup was very much heavier, coming out of the 80s it was still pretty colourful but I was very tanned so I tried keeping to a bronze golden look which at the time looked beautiful, but as always times change and we have to move with them. Thank You lovely 🥰 🌟
Beautiful look! The only thing I'd say is I have the La Mer foundation & despite loving their skin care I'm not a super fan of the foundation. I'd also recommend at a similar price point Tom Fords new foundation - honestly I have dry & oily combo skin & it's amazing! I love the Hourglass pressed powders for a glassy look as well. I'm totally gonna try the CT setting spray & Viseart palette; does anyone think that the Natasha Glam palette would be a good choice as well? I won't be doing my makeup for my wedding myself but I'd be happy to bring some bits out of my own collection; I'm no pro at applying makeup especially eye makeup but I'm getting there slowly! I totally need to check out the O/S primer as well but I fear it'll be an eBay job as we can't get it yet from Sephora in the UK. Congrats to ya'll getting married this year 😊
So, is La Mer a long lasting foundation? Which one do you REALLY prefer, La Mer or the Dior Air Flash? I'm only asking because I have my daughters University graduation next month and, of course, I want a great, long lasting foundation. I already own the Air Flash but I'm happy to get to the La Mer if that's a better one. Honestly Morgan, your makeup always looks perfect and ideal for a wedding! This look is gorgeous too 😍 Love ya 💗🤍💗🤍💗🤍💗
@jillstarkel4425 I know 😫. Thankfully, I was able to grab one just before they completely disappeared. Dior's effort to be a "clean" brand is the only reason it was discontinued. So Dior is giving us what they want rather than giving us what we want!! So irritating 🤬
Honestly I'd recommend Tom Fords new foundation at a similar price point; I have both & by far prefer this one. You won't regret the purchase - I always wear this on special occasions & the shade match is spot on.
I recently bought the Lemaire Foundation. I don't like it when first applied but the longer you wear the better actually looks. But I still have a whole list of drugstore foundations that I enjoy much more than this. My favorite Foundation is buy unicorn glow it's the drop Foundation it's $14 and it is fantastic. I wouldn't recommend anybody spend that kind of money on Lamar it's just not worth it
I used your video from last year as a guide for my own bridal makeup :) I've been wanting to show you how it came out but I don't know how to send it to you so you'd actually see it haha
I've heard the sephora spray foundation is a dupe for the dior. I never tried the dior one but I really like the sephora one. I do love the la mer foundation too. It smells weird lol but it's beautiful.
Hello Morgan. Thank you for the make up tips,as always you looked amazing. I kindly have a question,How does one reach out to you or your team by email. Thank you!!
I heard ur supposed to follow the directions for the one size primer. It says ur supposed to pat it in not run it on your skin... I don't have it, that's just what I've heard
Make sure to tell your makeup artist if you are sensitive to certain products/areas of your face. I did my cousin's makeup on her wedding day, and I didn't realize that she was sensitive to certain eye liners, I applied a liquid eyeliner to help blend the fake eyelash band and her eye immediately watered and started smearing her entire eye! She had forgotten to tell me and didn't realize what I was doing until it was too late!
You STILL need to wear sunscreen on your wedding day! Just opt for a chemical sunscreen as opposed to a physical one. Chemical sunscreens don’t have flashback.

Surely any professional MUA would clarify what the bride was wanting, and show her an example of natural vs neutral make up.
