There's many stories about CO'S dying within 5 yrs post retirement. I'm glad you took the step to enjoy life. Take it slowly and don't rush into relationships.
My 3rd story from you coz I'm new to your channel. Nice listening to various life stories we can learn from, get inspired from it, or get motivated from. Good job!
Wow i was born in Massachusetts as well and still live here. I'm buying a house and a ton of apartment complexes in the Philippines in June. It's good to see a native doing well in the Philippines.
I'm in Thailand and I flew over and checked out Duma last year (Met you and Jen at the Valencia park), one noticeable difference between Duma (really the PI) and Thailand was how much more friendly the expats are there. I met guys everywhere (mostly Americans and Australia). Verse Thailand the Europeans tend to be less outgoing and friendly.
Great Interview with Doug, Mark. He should fit in just nicely there, got the right attitude. He was right about people who find themselves in Jail, it's all about not being able to control their emotions also resulting from bad attitudes towards anyone else, especially those seeming to do better than them. Bob. Veteran. NZ.
This fellow seems amazingly tranquil and calm. His level headed approach to life and calm manner will help him to overcome obstacles Good for him Marty
I know it doesn't happen every day but I know a retired (after 28 years) c.o. from California. His best friend, also a c.o., was killed by an inmate in San Quentin. Still, their pay is well-deserved just for going to prison everyday.
Oh that's right. I've heard one Filipino guy who,if possible he doesn't want to get out of prison because he's afraid he had no one or home to get bact into
Another great interview Mark, sometimes your show is more interesting than the daily news on TV in Germany. Are there in Dumaguete no German guys you could interview? It would be interesting if there are living also guys from here. Have a nice weekend ahead! Michael
Glad I found your channel! Looking forward to more videos. :)
Great interview Mark. Doug has hit the ground running and I’m sure will love it in the Philippines. Thanks for sharing.

This guy's story is a real deal. I worked as a nurse for 2 yrs in the Dept of Correction, and that's what I observed about inmates' psychology.
Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience 😊

He must have a pension.
That’s a big help in the PI
Anywhere. I hope he doesn’t compromise it.
He has a good pension .My son in law is a detective in 3 yrs he’ll be retiring for 20 yrs service and he’ll be receiving 4K a month
