- About 85% HD because of those still crappy quality Angel episodes. But I did manage to get Faith's episodes in season 1 in widescreen so that's a small improvement.
Why spend my time "remaking" an old video instead of making new ones? idk man. But this has always been one of my favorite videos from me lol. So I decided to "remake" it now that I have HD episodes, remake is in quotations because I didn't really want to change anything about it. I'm proud of it as it is, so I only changed a few tiny scenes and the audio may be a little different too because I no longer have the same sound effects I used back then. SOOOOOOOO yeah. Think of it as my own "remaster" lol like they did with the BTVS episodes.
Oh yeah. Coloring is different too cause I don't have the old project and it was too dark anyways.

Probably the best Faith and Buffy video out there!!! My favourite part is the voiceover of Faith and your editing at 1:35, it gives me chills all the time, it's so on point, as is the whole video actually! I've always wanted to make a video about Faith and Buffy too (because duh), but yours is just so perfect already!! *-* And now this HD version!!!! Are you trying to kill me?? 😍 Where did you get these? Vidding Buffy in HD is just goals!!! I think I changed a lot of things audio wise. But with the video I only really changed the part where I used Faith looking in the mirror and a part of the chorus with Buffy and Faith waking up. The rest was smaller adjusments on where I cut the scenes but I see what you mean though lol cause I admit I watched that video a lot of times too. But thank you! Glad you liked it!
I think it looks to different because of the HD and maybe the transitions. But I like both.

I can totally see why you updated/remastered this video once you got the BtVS episodes in better quality - I mean, the original version of this video was already awesome, but with the HD clips, it's just incredible! And I also must say, I totally agree with what you wrote in the description of the original version - even though, in many ways Faith & Buffy are polar opposites, in some ways they are also very much alike, and your video really did a good job of showcasing both, those contrasts as well as the similarities.

Where did you find AtS season 1 in widescreen? I know it's been on streaming services. Ditto the dodgy, but useful HD restoration of BtVS without channel logos (or being in French). Somebody really needs to disseminate these rip updates. *EDIT* And I just found the BtVS rips in one of my usual haunts. At last! I had just about given up on these. Now we just someone to notice our need for AtS.
NileQT87 did you find the 1080p version of Buffy or 720p? I can message you about the 1080p if you need it. And I got the Angel episodes from iTunes. Only got the ones with Faith though lol.
1080p. Hallelujah. The place starts with an R. I used to check there all the time hoping for someone to take pity on Buffyverse fans, but it had been a while since I had mostly given up.
I was pretty heavily involved in the HD remaster discussions on forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?s=8798fbbe3af21e6ab2bffb90002173c3&t=215038 (same members behind the Facebook petition group) where these things got ripped apart shot by shot, so I'm well acquainted with these remasters and what went wrong.

Although the video clarity is better in this HD version I still prefer the original video as I prefer the original SD version of the show itself. I absolutely despise the cheap looking HD remaster that Fox did and that was obviously used as the source material for this video. You did an excellent job with the re-edit, congrats on that, it's just the HD remaster itself that wasn't done properly. The color correction is bad for a lot of scenes and the visual effects you can tell are lazily upscaled. Buffy and Faith are great characters and this is a great video I just think the original is the better presentation, that's just my opinion.
I get it. I agree with you on the remastering being a pretty crappy job. I must say I haven't actually watched an entire episode in HD, last time I rewatched the show it was in the original format. I just skimmed trough the remastered episodes and I do love how clear and sharp they look but yes the colors are all messed up and I think most scenes that used effects look "wrong" like 0:04, 0:32 and I think 1:29 is the most noticeable in this video (Faith looks like... sharp and blurry at the same time idk lol) , must be the upscaling you mentioned. Also the fact that in the scene where Faith is pushing Buffy underwater I had to crop it cause you could clearly tell that wasn't Faith, I think someone had said it was Buffy's stunt double. So yeah I think that for viewing wise the HD is a total mess. But I prefer it for editing? Idk if that makes sense. Working with the original episodes, you can't really do anything with them cause whatever effects you try to add or something the quality just gets worse.
