Your explanation makes sense, but I wonder if maybe Luni felt really pressured by the community to make an update which lead to some mistakes in the gacha club app that no one is happy with. Maybe not, but this is just my interpretation.
no it really wasnt that, gacha club and gacha life needed updates because the version they were made for was too old and people wouldnt be able to download it. This is why it needed update so it is downloadable on newer devices
Luni said himself the updates were compability updates, he didnt feel pressured or anything to update because if that was the case, wouldnt he have added more content? All this was for was for it to work on newer devices because the games were getting old
No one in the gacha community is pressuring luni into making new updates. iOS users are just fine with the little gacha content we have access to, everything luni did was full-heartedly his own intent. The thing that confuses me the most is that nothing was added on to the iOS version, which makes me believe that luni was trying to make the game buggy on purpose so that people would talk about gacha club more; makes sense considering gacha club’s popularity is declining in numbers since there’s no new updates. That or he’s just a shitty programmer.
Tbh w/ Chibimation nearing the end of it’s production, knowing Luni is most likely aware of it (considering he requested Gacha Plus not be put on the App Store or whatever), him suddenly becoming more active AND the announcement of Gacha Life 2, I just think he’s trying to gather his fan base again so potential profits don’t diverge to another dress-up app. But you didn’t hear it from me. 🤷
I mean he kinda had to, especially after Hatsumi Rou. People were gonna start making Gacha apps similar to Gacha Club but not too similar, which would cause Lunime to become completely irrelevant in like 10 years when an app would be available for everyone.

Thank god, I thought this was only happening for me! I seriously hope that Luni sees this and is able to fix it soon, it got me really frustrated when I was making a gcmm and my ocs just deleted after I exited the game and wasn't even able to get them back!
@@OhuhmohYeh meanwhile android users got new hairs and stuff why does iOS always suffer I mean I have a android but the god damn thing is that is hard to edit videos on phone +android can have slow internet sometimes for example I had my android phone for like 11 months and is already slow and not working but I had my iPad for like 7 yrs and it works perfectly 😭
Finally, someone mentioned the ads!!! I was looking into it and couldn't find out why Gacha Club had ads again, and I was starting to think it was just me!!! 😭 It literally makes making videos such a hassle and not as fun when I am constantly being stoped by ads from going in and out of the studio!!!! 😭😭😭 Edit: Also to those who are having problems with characters not saving when you leave gacha club, I had this problem a couple times in the past. What I started doing is that when I make a new oc or something, before I exit gacha club I go into gacha studio and on the left there is a thing that says "Save/Load". If you click on that you should see a thing that says Save Scene and below it are some number slots. If you click on one of the number slots it should save your OC, I know that those slost are for saving positions of characters in scenes, but it seems to also work when saving your OC. It works for me, but I am not completely sure if it will work for other people. Sorry if this made no sense or if this doesn't work.
This is why I wait to update gacha. I always wait when a new update comes out to see what people think of it, and if it has bug fixes, then i'll update it. But if it is worse, in this case, I won't update it until it's fixed. Yeah I just opened gacha club yesterday and it was like that and I was so confused, I thought my app was broken until this video showed me that it was happening to everyone
From what I got from Luni’s community post, he’s making Gacha Life 2 so it’s easier to update and it’s better, and that he acknowledges the problems with the new Gacha Club. I am excited for GL2, but I hope he still fixes Gacha Club instead of just replacing it with a new game because GL2 is probably going to release in October, a couple months away, so we may have to put up with all these glitches until the new one comes out if GL2 is his top priority.
I still hope that Luni fixes Gacha Club as well, but some gachatubers said that never got this "update" at all. Which is tbh very strange. But apparently it's a bug not an update. I don't think Luni would ever make an update like that. Especially if it will upset the gacha community. ;-;
Well I don’t think gacha life 2 will be out for iOS users bc like gacha club everyone was using gacha life and gacha club took look to be uploaded to iOS so iOS users might have to wait like idk 2 yrs or 1 yr again😭😔 Tbh I think that gacha 2 should come out on iOS first so is kinda fair but yeh he can’t control it I guess

this is honestly so sad for rising gachatubers (including me) or just gachatubers in general. I’ve been trying to keep my channel alive with using old screenshots but it honestly is not very easy. I don’t hate him or anything, hes responsible for creating the entire gacha community and its a big thing I was into a couple years ago and am just now starting to enter the community again (, only to not be able to do anything because I’m on ios). but you cannot deny he doesnt care about gacha much. how did he even let this bug slip past him?? Yeah I noticed this glitch a few days ago on my old main phone (switched yesterday) and assumed the fact my phone was already super glitchy (apps refusing to open or just un-installing and refusing to reinstall) was the problem, but when I switched to my current phone I spent hours transferring character because import/export wasn’t working and when I opened it today they were gone, including one or two new ones. Luni needs to fix this, the game is practically unplayable right now.
0:49 For the line on the bottom you need to go to settings, click on control center, add “guided access”, click allow (you also need to add a password), and turn on guided access whenever you make screenshots. It’s annoying and a bit of a hassle for those who like to go back and forth while making videos but it’d the best fix I found for the line
This problem had happened while I had just finished a oc that took me *days* to finish, I’m overall infuriated because I was planning to redesign all my ocs and the progress not saving is terrible for me. I have a huge thing to make by the end of November and the project will take possible months as the idea for it is still in creation.
I had spent like half the day making a bunch of ocs after a random bit of motivation and LUCKILY I screenshoted them cause I lost 98% of the progress, I reallllly hope the progress saving and import/export gets fixed cause those two are literally so freaking important
I thought it was just me having all these problems. I had to keep re creating my characters 3 times, my exports weren’t working, I couldn’t exit the game and everything mentioned. Now I have to wait for it to be fixed before I can put out another video. The update made me think something was wrong with my iPad but now I’m glad to find out other users have this specific problem too.
Finally somebody who talks about the progress Honestly I thought I was the only one, so I just restarted the app completely and started all my OC’s from 0. I just hope it won’t happen again but I think Luni will fix this, maybe.
You know what, this makes me feel better about switching over to using a mod for my videos. But I feel really bad for IOS users who can't do the same thing so easily. I hope Luni fixes this problem fast, because it will become a big issue and it may even cause some gachatubers to just give up making videos if all their hard work is suddenly gone when they leave the app.

Normally, apps don’t update by itself on my phone, but gacha updated itself and thank god my OCs are still there- Either way, I don’t like the new update.
I have a very quick idea to stop the progress glitch: Once you make an OC, before closing or clicking off, open studio, and place your new OC anywhere in studio. I used to have this glitch on Samsung and that worked (no idea why). As an extra layer of security, you can save your OC in any empty slot you have in the “extra characters” area. Just place your OC in there, then copy your OC. Hope this helps!

Guys I do this all of the time to save OC's! I'll tell you it so go to studio and you look to the side and it says "Save/Load" And press it and press any kind of spot to save I recommend the bottom ones, And yeah it saves everything!

As an iOS user, the line doesn’t have anything to do with the game itself, I haven’t updated my Gacha club, but I’ve been dealing with that line for about months, and it’s just the line iOS users swipe to get to the Home Screen. Sometimes when I take screenshots it’ll have the line I’ve the actual game, and sometimes it’s in a black frame. The way to get the line in the black frame in the unupdated version of the game is to leave and reopen the game. Once you do that 1-2 times it should return back into black frame mode. Once it’s in the black frame you can easily crop it out with the rest of the black borders. Please be careful about what you’re regarding as a new bug/glitch since that line has always been there I’m afraid. Same thing with the ads, they were always there even before I updated the game, and I thought I would say this just in case I’m not the only one who’s already been experiencing this stuff (Not trying to be rude by the way)

The one way I have kept my characters being saved is by pulling on the Gacha before I leave every time. Somehow this fixes it most times, idk why though. Smh it’s like the one time I want to start making videos again it all messed up. But I’m glad it wasn’t just an issue with my device like I thought!
The update should’ve been so it can be in the size of the iPad screen if you have a iPad, because for most iPad users it’s just the game with a black outline around it

It’s gotten worse. In case Gacha Club IOS users were unaware, there is a trick that keeps you from losing your progress, and that is, before closing the app you can go back to the title screen from the settings menu and it would keep your progress. However, I tried it this morning and the trick seems to have stopped working because it just reseted my progress so you can’t use the trick anymore. At least, that’s what is happening for me. Maybe other users aren’t having the same bug?
I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS!! It started with those random adds, bc I haven’t seen adds in gacha for a LONG time and then I made a oc and clicked off the game, it saved but then I made another one, I put a lot of progress into and BOOM it’s gone. 😭😭 I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s experienced this we’re all begging luni to fix it.
The oc resetting thing has BEEN happening to me, if its the same as it has been for me, it should just be as simple as playing around with the oc in studio mode before closing the app
I thought I was the only one dealing with this crap lol. After the update I also noticed ads and the first time I got on after the update it deleted my oc after I left. It’s working fine now but I’ve always dealt with the line. This update was a mess 😅
I can relate with that one because I get random ads and the little blur line whenever I take screenshots of my OC and for some reason. I don’t like the update at all.

I’m glad I came across this because I was wondering if I just didn’t remember the ads somehow, and then I had just made a new character and when I came back the character was gone and I thought for sure I had done something myself that hadn’t saved the progress. Luckily I haven’t used export/import in a while.
it removed what I was working on such as my new character and when I opened gacha again, it was gone. I need to copy characters so I can remake it but I can’t and it frustrates me so bad.
I'm hoping this gets fixed soon. Since all my progress was deleted/it wouldn't save and I'm trying to work on a project. Lost all my ocs and stuff multiple times. I'm glad I saved all the offline codes, at least.

YES! I redownloaded gacha recently and i didn’t even know it got updated. I spent like 20 minutes creating a character for a video and when i exited the app and came back like an hour later, it reset. This needs to be fixed.
yeah I just made two OCs that I was planning to use to add to lore to my Gacha stories or what not, but they didn’t save and I hadn’t yet screenshoted or used them or anything 👹👹

Dude luni needs to see this, I have force update on so I couldn’t control it, I’m okay-ish with the export and import, but I took 3 HOURS to make designs for my fnaf au, and I went to the bathroom and came back and opened gacha club to find that all my progress was deleted.
Thank you for bringing up the progress resetting. I haven’t been able to use Gacha club since every time I changed my oc and left the game everything reset. I can’t even blame myself for updating it my device updates automatically
For the saving character issue, clicking and exiting out of studio mod is what helped me. I do this before closing the app all the time ever since I've first lost character progress and it has worked. Hope this helps!
Bro I just spent an HOUR making three new characters like I worked so hard on them and then I went out of the app for not even five minutes, and they reset to the previous characters in the slots. I'm so mad and upset and really hope this is fixed 😭
I’ve found a way to sort of save my progress- but it involves the ‘transfer data’ thing. So what I do is: I make an update to my Gacha and then I go to the transfer data button, I press it and if it’s successful, my progress is saved.
This happened like a couple of days ago, I finished make a Oc of a character and i thought it could have saved, and I realize and i thought it was some bug so I try to shut down my my iPad and come back and it’s still there one thing caught me off guard was when you go in the app and it was vertical, I was confused so now I had to use a different way of saving which is hella annoying I hope Luni does something cause I’m about find his iP and track him (jk but seriously 💀)
Well that already does that to me slot the adds and were the progress dose not save but I know how to save your OC! so all you have to do is stay in the game for a little while and it saves I hope that helps!
An easy way to save progress I’ve learned is after your done with the game change the hair or icon of a default boy (changing the pose also works) and your progress should be saved

I've actually been dealing with those problems for a really long time already and they have just recently increased with the new update so it's not helping with the fact that they made the game even more harder to play I have to keep clicking in and out of home and to studio just so my things will save and I have to do it multiple times otherwise it wouldn't save I have been doing this for a few months so I am quite used to it but sometime that glitch does help me when I accidentally changed something about a certain character which I didn't mean to but the most part is I hope they fix this glitch soon.
I thought I wasn’t the only one. I’ve been experiencing this ever since I re-downloaded the app, and I didn’t even know there was an update. I literally grinded so hard for gems and coins and whenever I go back to the home page AN AD POPS UP. My progress also keeps resetting and it puts me back to DJ Lv. 1. Even my coins went to 0 and all the units that I pulled for like Shizu, Orion and Cor. Cry is gone :(
For me, I didn’t have to update it, the app just became a high school bully on its own. Some people have different problems with the app. For one, it may be the ads, for another, it might be the code, or more. For me rn, it’s the codes and the loading screen, but for others it may be different. ANOTHER THING CUZ THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! Y’all are talking bout how Luni needs to see this and realize this and fix it WHICH I 100% AGREE WITH, but, he has acknowledged it. I think it was from one of Flotandys (idk how it’s spelt tbh) vids about the situation (or some other creators vid bout the situation) mentioned that he is aware of it, but Luni has moved and isn’t in close contact with ‘Charlotte’, who I assume is a close coworker of his for the game, and that he needs a month to go there and figure the stuff out. The most we can do til then is wait this out and pray that this is fixed. Fingers crossed 🤞

Yeah I just opened gacha club yesterday and it was like that and I was so confused, I thought my app was broken until this video showed me that it was happening to everyone

My iPad updates itself too rip.. also I don't use it for gacha club most of times I use my phone with mods in it but I'm still sad abt this update..
From what I got from Luni’s community post, he’s making Gacha Life 2 so it’s easier to update and it’s better, and that he acknowledges the problems with the new Gacha Club. I am excited for GL2, but I hope he still fixes Gacha Club instead of just replacing it with a new game because GL2 is probably going to release in October, a couple months away, so we may have to put up with all these glitches until the new one comes out if GL2 is his top priority.
I still hope that Luni fixes Gacha Club as well, but some gachatubers said that never got this "update" at all. Which is tbh very strange. But apparently it's a bug not an update. I don't think Luni would ever make an update like that. Especially if it will upset the gacha community. ;-;
Well I don’t think gacha life 2 will be out for iOS users bc like gacha club everyone was using gacha life and gacha club took look to be uploaded to iOS so iOS users might have to wait like idk 2 yrs or 1 yr again😭😔

this is honestly so sad for rising gachatubers (including me) or just gachatubers in general. I’ve been trying to keep my channel alive with using old screenshots but it honestly is not very easy. I wish I saw this video before I updated gacha club but I didn’t. I really hope this gets fixed because I don’t wanna keep dealing with this and I’m sure many others don’t want to either.

Basically what I’m trying to say here is that iOS users have always, ALWAYS gotten the short end of the stick when it come to GC. It took MONTHS for the iOS version of GC to come out when it came out for android, the recent gacha life update STILL isn’t out for iOS when all that has to be done is copying assets from GC and placing them in GL (something which shouldn’t take that long, but idk shit abt coding so I could be wrong), and then this shitty update where all it did was add ads, delete ppl’s progress, and essentially just make it another one of those “pay-to-play” games- just replace “pay” to “WATCH-to-play” and it applies to iOS users’ experience playing Gacha Club ever since this update came out.
Tldr: if luni hadn’t rushed the iOS update, then none of this would’ve ever been a problem in the first place. And ppl who try and blame iOS users, like YOU are doing, is only going to make it worse.

I don’t hate him or anything, hes responsible for creating the entire gacha community and its a big thing I was into a couple years ago and am just now starting to enter the community again (, only to not be able to do anything because I’m on ios). but you cannot deny he doesnt care about gacha much. how did he even let this bug slip past him?? I hope they become more in touch with the community and bug fixes and what they want in the future, but I wouldnt be surprised if he didn’t fix it for months.

Yeah I noticed this glitch a few days ago on my old main phone (switched yesterday) and assumed the fact my phone was already super glitchy (apps refusing to open or just un-installing and refusing to reinstall) was the problem, but when I switched to my current phone I spent hours transferring character because import/export wasn’t working and when I opened it today they were gone, including one or two new ones.
Luni needs to fix this, the game is practically unplayable right now.
0:49 For the line on the bottom you need to go to settings, click on control center, add “guided access”, click allow (you also need to add a password), and turn on guided access whenever you make screenshots. It’s annoying and a bit of a hassle for those who like to go back and forth while making videos but it’d the best fix I found for the line
As a chronic guided access user bc of rhythm games, I can’t take screenshots in guided access, I have to turn it off
This problem had happened while I had just finished a oc that took me *days* to finish, I’m overall infuriated because I was planning to redesign all my ocs and the progress not saving is terrible for me. I have a huge thing to make by the end of November and the project will take possible months as the idea for it is still in creation.

I thought it was just me having all these problems. I had to keep re creating my characters 3 times, my exports weren’t working, I couldn’t exit the game and everything mentioned. Now I have to wait for it to be fixed before I can put out another video. The update made me think something was wrong with my iPad but now I’m glad to find out other users have this specific problem too.

You know what, this makes me feel better about switching over to using a mod for my videos. But I feel really bad for IOS users who can't do the same thing so easily. I hope Luni fixes this problem fast, because it will become a big issue and it may even cause some gachatubers to just give up making videos if all their hard work is suddenly gone when they leave the app.

I have a very quick idea to stop the progress glitch:
Once you make an OC, before closing or clicking off, open studio, and place your new OC anywhere in studio. I used to have this glitch on Samsung and that worked (no idea why).
As an extra layer of security, you can save your OC in any empty slot you have in the “extra characters” area. Just place your OC in there, then copy your OC.

Guys I do this all of the time to save OC's! I'll tell you it so go to studio and you look to the side and it says "Save/Load" And press it and press any kind of spot to save I recommend the bottom ones, And yeah it saves everything!
I can deal with everything else, but the progress thing drives me insane! I can’t edit or create characters without it resetting on me! Same thing with trying to set everything up in the studio! It just screws everything up! I really hope they fix this because it is a huge problem for me!

As an iOS user, the line doesn’t have anything to do with the game itself, I haven’t updated my Gacha club, but I’ve been dealing with that line for about months, and it’s just the line iOS users swipe to get to the Home Screen. Sometimes when I take screenshots it’ll have the line I’ve the actual game, and sometimes it’s in a black frame. The way to get the line in the black frame in the unupdated version of the game is to leave and reopen the game. Once you do that 1-2 times it should return back into black frame mode.
Once it’s in the black frame you can easily crop it out with the rest of the black borders. Please be careful about what you’re regarding as a new bug/glitch since that line has always been there I’m afraid.
Same thing with the ads, they were always there even before I updated the game, and I thought I would say this just in case I’m not the only one who’s already been experiencing this stuff (Not trying to be rude by the way)

The one way I have kept my characters being saved is by pulling on the Gacha before I leave every time. Somehow this fixes it most times, idk why though. Smh it’s like the one time I want to start making videos again it all messed up.

I’ve been experiencing these problem as well. It’s so annoying and I hope it gets fixed soon.
It’s gotten worse. In case Gacha Club IOS users were unaware, there is a trick that keeps you from losing your progress, and that is, before closing the app you can go back to the title screen from the settings menu and it would keep your progress. However, I tried it this morning and the trick seems to have stopped working because it just reseted my progress so you can’t use the trick anymore. At least, that’s what is happening for me. Maybe other users aren’t having the same bug?

I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS!!
It started with those random adds, bc I haven’t seen adds in gacha for a LONG time and then I made a oc and clicked off the game, it saved but then I made another one, I put a lot of progress into and BOOM it’s gone. 😭😭 I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s experienced this we’re all begging luni to fix it.

The oc resetting thing has BEEN happening to me, if its the same as it has been for me, it should just be as simple as playing around with the oc in studio mode before closing the app
I thought I was the only one dealing with this crap lol. After the update I also noticed ads and the first time I got on after the update it deleted my oc after I left. It’s working fine now but I’ve always dealt with the line. This update was a mess 😅
I can relate with that one because I get random ads and the little blur line whenever I take screenshots of my OC and for some reason. I don’t like the update at all.

As an IOS user I’m rlly pissed at this . I know Luni will Fix it but now I can’t even take breaks creating videos. I don’t usually exit the games but it’s a huge problem. Export and import is really important and I don’t get ads but it’s frustrating.

I’m glad I came across this because I was wondering if I just didn’t remember the ads somehow, and then I had just made a new character and when I came back the character was gone and I thought for sure I had done something myself that hadn’t saved the progress.
Luckily I haven’t used export/import in a while.
it removed what I was working on such as my new character and when I opened gacha again, it was gone. I need to copy characters so I can remake it but I can’t and it frustrates me so bad.

YES! I redownloaded gacha recently and i didn’t even know it got updated. I spent like 20 minutes creating a character for a video and when i exited the app and came back like an hour later, it reset. This needs to be fixed.

Dude luni needs to see this, I have force update on so I couldn’t control it, I’m okay-ish with the export and import, but I took 3 HOURS to make designs for my fnaf au, and I went to the bathroom and came back and opened gacha club to find that all my progress was deleted.
Fr I’m glad it’s not just me. I commented yesterday about it and still haven’t got a reply, but the update is horrible.
Thank you for bringing up the progress resetting. I haven’t been able to use Gacha club since every time I changed my oc and left the game everything reset. I can’t even blame myself for updating it my device updates automatically
For the saving character issue, clicking and exiting out of studio mod is what helped me. I do this before closing the app all the time ever since I've first lost character progress and it has worked.

I’ve found a way to sort of save my progress- but it involves the ‘transfer data’ thing. So what I do is: I make an update to my Gacha and then I go to the transfer data button, I press it and if it’s successful, my progress is saved.

An easy way to save progress I’ve learned is after your done with the game change the hair or icon of a default boy (changing the pose also works) and your progress should be saved

I've been dealing with this for awhile my method to saving the characters is to click on another character every so often 😊
I've actually been dealing with those problems for a really long time already and they have just recently increased with the new update so it's not helping with the fact that they made the game even more harder to play I have to keep clicking in and out of home and to studio just so my things will save and I have to do it multiple times otherwise it wouldn't save I have been doing this for a few months so I am quite used to it but sometime that glitch does help me when I accidentally changed something about a certain character which I didn't mean to but the most part is I hope they fix this glitch soon.
I thought I wasn’t the only one. I’ve been experiencing this ever since I re-downloaded the app, and I didn’t even know there was an update. I literally grinded so hard for gems and coins and whenever I go back to the home page AN AD POPS UP.
My progress also keeps resetting and it puts me back to DJ Lv. 1. Even my coins went to 0 and all the units that I pulled for like Shizu, Orion and Cor. Cry is gone :(

For me, I didn’t have to update it, the app just became a high school bully on its own. Some people have different problems with the app. For one, it may be the ads, for another, it might be the code, or more. For me rn, it’s the codes and the loading screen, but for others it may be different.

I think it was from one of Flotandys (idk how it’s spelt tbh) vids about the situation (or some other creators vid bout the situation) mentioned that he is aware of it, but Luni has moved and isn’t in close contact with ‘Charlotte’, who I assume is a close coworker of his for the game, and that he needs a month to go there and figure the stuff out.
