    315/30/18 Square Hoosier A7, Hawk 60 F/R brake pads, SRF Brake Fluid, DSSV Suspension, -3.1 - 1/32 F, -2.4 R + 1/32 R, SPL Semi Trailing Arms, SPL Upper arm Rear, BMR toe rod, 75lb ballast (3901 min weight), no engine modifications, stock exhaust, and stock power.
    Fun little track, my lap was ok, big mistake in turn 1 cost me a couple tenths. These are my Sunday laps. I was on a 3rd fast lap but a safety vehicle came on track at the end and we had to abort. Tires are starting to show their age a bit. With fresh tires 17's would have been achievable.
    Congrats to Roberto for 1st place Saturday and Jack for 1st place Sunday.
    2nd Place Saturday
    3rd Place Sunday

    Shows up to track for first time and is immediately on pace first session of the weekend.

      Learned from you, I'm a lot more aggressive at trying to find pace now. Doesn't help when you only get 1 warmup session before TT.

    Great lap! The speed you cary through the chute is impressive without aero. I've been using third gear only from turn 5 through turn 9. Looks like second gear out of turn 5 and 6 and a shift before turn 7 is the way to go to keep HP up. Thanks for posting.

      Yeah there are a few turns like that. I actually think turn 1 is faster if I stay in 3rd and get on throttle more aggressive. Turn 5 through 9 in 3rd is not bad either but I do think 2nd is slightly faster out of 5. Then turn 3 you can do in both 3rd gear or 4th.
      Lot's of options, gearing is a bit longer with stock 20" wheels so in that case I think 2nd for turn 1, 3rd, for turn 3, 2nd for 5, and maybe even 3rd for turn 10 might be best.

    Always like watching these. You are driving on the limit (sometimes over) which is incredible. 1:28 nice. I have a '15 RS that i've been spending time with to upgrade handling/braking but always missing the 2 extra cylinders LOL. Do you daily (or street drive) this car? I used to want to upgrade to an SS 1LE but I think I will need something with 4 doors in a few months. Any suggestions on a 4 door sedan that you've seen do decent at the track?

      @SpyderRacing  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you, I originally bought the car as dual street/track purpose but there are no good roads near me so I never drive this on the street. Almost all the miles on it besides break in are track miles(12k now).
      I think as far as a 4 door sedan that is good on track you would be looking at one of the new M3's but they are so expensive compared to this car and not much faster in stock form.

      @@SpyderRacingI don’t understand the pricing of the M3. It’s way too inflated for what it is.

      @stuartnoel5149 it absolutely is, not worth it.

    How do you like the hawk pads? I've heard they are not kind to wheel paint finishes or rotors

    • @SpyderRacing
      @SpyderRacing  26 днів тому

      I love the hawk 60's. They last decently long vs other options I've used but they may be bad for the paint finish on your wheels. I haven't personally had my paint ruined but keep in mind that track wheels will get destroyed by rocks etc as well. My track wheels are in rough shape after 3 years of tracking, there is no way to save them.
      As far as the rotors go I don't think they are any harder on rotors. I used carbotech xp12's for 1 year and they were just as bad on the rotors as the hawk 60's. Only difference is the carbotech's don't last as long and they have a weaker initial bite vs the 60's.
      My front pads will generally last 2-3 (3 day events) before I have to change them. The rears last x2 longer. With carbotech I was changing the pads every event.

      @@SpyderRacing nice. Thanks for the feedback. Do you think the 70s are too aggressive for you? Or haven’t tried them yet? I’m currently on Pagid RST3 front and R12 Gloc rear which I like but the cost is up there. Was going to try Cobalt XR1 which isn’t less expensive but curious about the hawk pads.

    • @SpyderRacing
      @SpyderRacing  26 днів тому

      @@warrendennis84 I never tried 70 up front and 60 in the rear. 60's all around have always felt good to me, never saw a reason to change.
