Just on my husband's side of my family, there are 8 kids and 8 adults to gift. Then my 4 family members and plethora of friends...I struggle financially and time wise every single year. But I lost my job, so I'm going to have more time to crochet, and I learned to crochet and bought like $1,000 in yarn, so I should be able to make EVERYONE's gifts this year.
I'm not crocheting presents for my family, maybe I will make one or two but I'm making tons of home decorations like full christmas tree decorations and my Pinterest is full of christmas ideas. I just ordered ton od yarn and i will start next few days.❤❤❤
The thing that always gets me is being really ambitious when picking gift-projects. Especially for holidays, I gravitate toward detail-heavy or intricate patterns... and Especially if I encounter a new stitch/technique, I never give myself enough time for the extra details!
I'm making 2 granny square blankets, 2 hats, a bag, a scarf, a stuffed animal, a doggy sweater, 3 keychains, and a table centerpiece. I have immediate family, grandparents, cousins, and friends. I've got my hands full.
Honestly, yeah; the sooner the better. Last year I made various ornaments for my friends. I started around June/July and it took me the entire time because I was coming up with ideas on the ornaments and they were actually potpourri with different scents in them. Also, the sizing, colours, and patterns were factored in.
My favourite book-gift to make is paper-clip bookmarks. You start with a paper clip (a jumbo one, or a wide X-shaped one, or a fancy-shaped one) and start crocheting by crocheting around one end of the paper clip, then keep on crocheting until you get to bookmark-length. The reason why these are such awesome bookmarks is that while you're reading, you can slip the paper clip on the back end of the book, so you don't put the bookmark down and lose it, then you can quickly flip the crochet part over to save your place if you have to put the book down quickly, but if you have more time, you can mark your place with the paper-clip part, and it isn't going to accidentally fall out of the book. It's like the best of both worlds.
Scrubby yarn is sooo good to make a body wash scrub/loofah! It's basically a magic circle (or chain and slip stitch), a chain for the strap, and then you crochet into the round and increase in each stitch to make it ruffle! So good to pair with a bath and body works soap for multiple people (get those sales)

not every year but last year I had the bright idea in November to knit socks for a few different people.... Hopefully I will do them this year. or at lest finish the two pairs I have already started.

Absolutely about the injury thing. I have done that to myself TWICE, working too hard to get stuff made in time for Christmas. Even though I do tend to start early anyway, I get too ambitious and underestimate the time needed. So, NO MORE. This year, I have decided that, any of the biggish projects which aren't finished or nearly finished right now, are going to be deferred to next year, and all of the gifts that remain to be made are going to be small, like bookmarks or potholders.

Skane 😊
Girl, I just love the wall paper behind you. Where did you find it? Yes, I did enjoy your video. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Holly, I just came upon your wonderful videos a couple days ago. You have such a bubbly personality. Miss Tilly is so adorable! I have a cat named Annie. She's a Tortie. Sometimes, she had tortitude.
Ok so I’m a little late to the party. I’ve made one boomerang style scarf so far and one to go. Mushroom lip balm holder definitely on the list. Couple of other undecided items as well, probably. 🤷🏻♀️🦋
22:20 or a blank book for journaling
I’ve been crocheting Christmas presents more often but I would start in December. I’ve not had some Christmas presents ready on Christmas and I’ll give the Christmas presents in like February 😂. So I like this idea better. 6:11 also skeen
And I’m crochet my mom a blanket
How's it going?
I'm planning to do a Pisces doll for a colleague, a horse plushie for her daughter, a Merida from Brave doll for a friend and the lip balm holder is a great idea for another colleague 😁. And I really think I can do it all 💪🏻
How is it going?
Eeek!! Skeen hurts my brain. I say “skane.” 😂😂😂😂
I had to chuckle at the bonus points if its in a christmas mug because this morning the mug i grabbee is my Lilo and Stitch Christmas mug 😂 im off to a good start!
Omg lilo and stitch Christmas mug I’m so jealous!!!
I mentioned a sweater for Tilly in the live stream😊

I would like to knit socks for my roommates ( I have 3) and maybe for my mom but I have so many projects on my needles right now!!!
I've always said skeen, I feel like skane might the the technically "correct" way but I think it's fine either way
I need to start crocheting things for my Christmas market
Yaaaaaas! Ahhh I want to do a Christmas market someday. I love going to Christmas markets
Im crocheting a Granny Square cardigan for my sister

This year I am crocheting all my relatives blankets so I have been working on them since January because I had to make 13 of them. I am down to only needing to do one more

I want to finish a DND dice bag for my GF
I would love to make a blanket for my nephew! I’m plan is to do some sort of colored blanket and attempt a boarder of chickens 🐓! My nephew love them so I really wanted to do something with them! I just need a color idea for the base of the blanket! I attempted to make a blanket last for him for Christmas but failed and still haven’t finished it so I want to actually make one this year and do better with it as well!
Awe I love this!
