I headcannon that sun isn't entirely corrupted by vannys hack and acts as a soft block for it. She hacked moon and so sun overrode him as a safety procedure. Wich is why he's awake at night and why he seems so adiment for you to keep the lights on. It should be in his programming to turn off on his own , if anything he should encourage the Gregory to turn off the lights. He knows it's late and Gregory should be asleep.
Not to mention the fact that there are *light generators* in the Daycare. That in itself -- especially given the long ass wires -- is a MASSIVE hazard for the little kids, let alone a lawsuit waiting to happen. I'm thinking Moon was corrupted early on (a patient zero, maybe?), and the Daycare had to get shut down because of him. Would also explain why Freddy was so freaked out about the lights being off, and why Sun was so freaked out about the lights being off. Gregory might've been the first person Sun's interacted with in a long while.
