I ♥️ this fork of the Walker River. The surroundings and the river are absolutely beautiful, crystal clear water, which was a challenge in and of itself, and lots of trout. I also enjoyed learning how and where to target these trout.
A walking staff prevents most slips ,trips, and spills, ,take from an older fisherman , young man. Another great adventure and film , thank you so much.
Some of the best fishing moments of my life were spent there. Fishing with my 10 year old son (30 now and a pro golfer and caddy) and my best friend Dave McKnight from Paradise (passed 10 years ago). This brought back joy and tears. Thank you Eric!
Thanks Cole, I feel like I'm really getting into a rhythm with the edits and grades on these things. It's fun. You'll have to tell me about your success with your Western Vid. I haven't actually finished it yet...
@@driftstone hahah I don’t know why it took off the way it did honestly haha, it is probably one of my least favorite films that I have done ahah but the UA-cam algorithm does it’s thing haha and I am not complaining. You get lucky when you keep grinding like you are!
Love that river. I think if they were to make the section above the town of walker catch n release/special regs, it would be an amazing river. It seems to have a great golden stonefly population and there are wild browns.
For some reason, I thought it was catch and release. I can see what you mean though about that section becoming a trophy stream if they did change to those regs. It's so accessible, so I'm sure also gets fished hard as well.
i was just on the Walker around Chris Flats...half the campground is washed out...but the north side has a tributary feeding into the walker running under the trees...the hole at that junction is sweet as honey. I don't catch and release....I catch and eat...and I stopped fishing, because I wasn't hungry anymore. Going back before the snow falls...
I've had several people reach out to me about how meaningful this video was because of how it reminding them of trips from the past. It's cool to be able to make my own memories and tap other people in with it.
Thanks Bob, The last two are my favorites! I still think about that Bow. I know I said it in the video, but it still surprises me that a fish like that can make a living in such a small stream.
It was thinking back to fishing with that rod and it's hard to explain. Glass is basically inferior to Carbon in every way, but it's just so much dang fun to use!

If you were carrying a big camera and tripod along on the river, you might also decide to leave your stick in the car for small streams like this :D
I miss the Walker. I will fish it again someday.
It's a beautiful piece of water. I'd love to fish it again as well!

Wow Dave, that's a lot of life's memories wrapped up around something as simple as fishing in a place that's quickly doing the same for me!
That slow-mo release of your buddy's fish at 5:50! Just awesomeness! Fantastic trout.
Right? I just posted a screen grab from there and posted it on IG. It really shows how long and wide that fish was.
Thanks for the love :D
Another great video you are killing it my man!

What was the rod you were using? I didn't catch the brand.
I believe I was fishing with a Moonshine Epiphany at the time.
Is the rod you are using at 3:10 bamboo?
Nope, it's a glass rod. It's got that bamboo floppiness :D

So jelly of this beautiful trip and fishing Eric!! Really happy you were able to go and share it with your brother as well!!

I need to hire your thumbnail guy - always top notch. Looks like an awesome day Eric - FISH-ON!!
He's pretty expensive these days, I hear he isn't taking new clients :P
Thanks Dan, the Sierras are pretty special!
@@driftstone I bet! :)) Be well and FISH-ON Eric!
Loving the Eastern Sierra Tour! That was a nice Bow!

Cool videos man I love fishing my glass 3wt there so fun!

I know that pain all to well, losing the fish and the fly. And that PB was definitely a great fish to catch!
It's actually the first time I've broken off in ages. That's probably I practically cried like a baby :D
I love the 2 part series
There's 3 more coming
@@driftstone far out!
Mile marker on 395 Hwy. for locator for those hot spots , and pull offs. Ha ha
Pretty much, it all looked like fantastic water.
hi. where exactly was this spot? would like to fish it in a few months. thank you.
I honestly don't think I can remember the exact spot. The river follows the hwy for a long time, just pull off at a spot that looks nice.
