The impact of this has had far-reaching consequences for airlines, aircraft manufacturers and Pratt & Whitney themselves.

Pratt & Whitney has a proud tradition of engine defects going back 50 years. Early release 747 engines had a combustion instability that knocked blades off their rear turbines.

Wow, Airbus planes are grounded because of the Pratt&Whitney engines which have serious issues. Beside Boeing Airbus too has big problems with their aircraft being grounded due to the issues with the American engines. It was a good decision for China to build its own engines such as the Yangtze River engines that will be used for China’s civil aircraft.
