Deadpool saved Ryan Reynolds' carreer.
Agreed Deadpool has revived Ryan Reynolds career. Now if only Jeff Bridges career could be revived
True Hell or High Water I heard was good I need to watch it
Career
Jackson Mares career
@@captainjakemerica4579 actually deadpoo made me realize one thing Ryan Reynolds *always acts as deadpool* he got lucky that he finally landed a role that exactly matched his personality. Because deadpool is the only thing he can do
laughing my ass of with the Jeff Bridges impression!!!!
cool concept that would probably work better as a game or comic
+Grievousish Strange thing though, I heard it was an written comic that got changed into a movie.
*****
Hmm. I'll have to look that up.
Alternatively, it would've worked if the movie were funnier and more exciting.
Icebomb5 I agree with you . It was not the best but I think the concept was there. The trailer hyped it up too much thought. That was my major problem with that. The trailer gave the idea that the movie was going to be funnier and exciting. "A time of your life" Or "run for your money" I just hope this does not happen to the Deadpool movie. One of the main cast of this movie is heading the movie Deadpool. So fingers cross it does not go this way of "comedy".
+Grievousish R.I.P.D. was based on a comic so.... yea.... :/
Men in Black Meets Ghostbusters sounds like an awesome movie but then you find out it's actually R.I.P.D.
That would be awesome for a comic book crossover like what they did for Batman and TMNT
I never met a critic who had the guts to write his review before he saw the consensus of other reviews first. I have a feeling his original review was much more charitable before he revised it downward to fit with the consensus.
You are right in everyway jeremy but there is something about this movie i love. Its like a guilty pleasure.
Home sick today and watched RIPD. I agree with you, guilty pleasure .
“I was made for this sh!t”
The Jeff Bridges impersonation is priceless. I cried because I was laughing so hard.
I seen it, and even though it wasn't all that good. I honestly liked it.
I honestly dont like it at all
Not even the slightest.
+DeAth GaMing to each their own.
I feel the same kinda bad movie but i like it....
It was so bad but still pleased my monkey brain 😂
You know, I've been watching your reviews for, what feels like a long time, and I just now realized that what keeps me coming back is your tone of voice, impressions, and your amazing analogies! Keep it up man.
This movie is Yu Yu Hakusho done horribly
Lol
The premise of this movie was like a cross between Men in Black and Yu Yu Hakusho, except that both were better, especially the latter.
Ahhhhhhhh my thoughts exactly!
I love Yu Yu, they need to redub the 2nd movie!!!
I'm glad I am not the only the only one who saw the resemblance to Yu Yu Hakusho, god I love that show
wait wut, i only know MIB lmao. is this an anime or something?
Amber Richardson Yep, it's an anime; a fairly old one too.
Okay, who else wants to see Brad dourif play Santa Claus?
Charles Lee Ray dressed up as Santa Claus
I think that would make an interesting sight for our eyes. I enjoy all of Brad Dourif's work. He's played roles in so many different shows and movies it's not funny.
1:53 Nice Bill Cosby impression.
I don't care if it's a rip off, I enjoyed the movie
It had one redeeming feature. A chance to see Jeff Bridges reprise his role from True Grit. I enjoyed seeing a repeat of that performance certainly.
My god the shitty dialogue and grunting from the monsters literally pissed me off
Dude, my eyes are bleeding with laughter from your Bridges impersonation. Pure Gold.
Damn, Jeremy really tore into this flick. R.I.P R.I.P.D
Honestly, I kinda enjoyed it.
I didn't see it as a Men in Black ripoff at first, I saw it as it's own movie, yes, it was weird that they didn't anything about the civilians who saw the supernatural shit, but above all, I liked it, screw those people who tell me I'm wrong for liking it.
I'm with you loved that movie
I liked the movie too, but tbf I love men in black so I just accepted it as some unofficial spin off lol
Finally saw this movie. I really did like it. It was a lot of fun.
Exactly, it's an absolute gem
i thought it was gonna be ok from the trailer, then i watched it and agree with him. any men in black is better then this movie.
Jeremy sounds really frustrated in this review haha
Your Jeff Bridges impersonation makes me laugh so hard every time! Dead on!
Totally agree on the dogshit rating, I saw it on a movie channel and if I ever saw it again it would be in a punitive manner.
Even though it was very similar to MIB the alternative concept of an afterlife police force is still very interesting
Your Jeff Bridges sounds like Bill Cosby.
Loll 🤣 seriously
Oh my god, why does everyone hate this movie so much? I loved it, I thought it was hilarious, awesome special effects, good actors, etc. Can someone please explain this to me?
It was alright, I left liking it but the more I though about it the less I liked it. As I stated in my own post I liked all the actors performances but like he said they just did not work well together. The 'Girl' cop in the movie made me want to rip my armpit hair out she was so dry.
I did like the Chinese guy cloak, and naturally the thing I liked best with the comedy is replaced at the end LOL. Zalright movie just glad I saw it in the $1.50 theater ;)
Uh...because it was the textbook definition of a mediocre movie? Maybe that's why?
This man said awesome special effects. Was this your first movie my guy?
Awesome impression, funniest thing ive seen in a while!
The Jeff Bridges impression was gold
I kind of like this movie...
i really liked this movie
The writing was bullcrap but at least it was enjoyable to watch.
snapeythegreat it was
I was laughing the whole time.
It was good, I liked it, I'd watched on a discount movie day.. 7 out of 10
For the record,I though it was Yu Yu Hakusho meets men in black
This was one of those movies that I had to pep talk myself into finishing. "I can do this. I'm not giving up."
I found it easy to watch but when it ended I was really let down
XD the advert before this was for R.I.P.D
Damn Jeremy U destroyed me with that Jeff Bridges impersonation
Your bad Jeff Bridges impression sounds like a good Bill Cosby impression.
I took my friends to see this movie. We aren't friends any more.
Loved your Star Wars analogy Jeremy haha
I lost it when you were doing your impression of Jeff Bridges lmao
I really liked this movie.
+142doddy Me2
I liked Jeff Bridges.
+Xqwzts everyone does
142doddy
Major guilty pleasure like Battleship GI JOE 1&2 and the Transformers films.
142doddy i did too
The movie wasn't that bad. Like Men in Black, RIPD was based on a comic.
Yeah but the leads have no chemistry and the CGI sticks out like a sore thumb
i was laughing so hard when he did the Jeff Bridges cowboy impersonation. LOL
Since you mentioned Brad Dourif, I'll be expecting a Curse of Chucky review when that comes out. :D
A "Good if you're drunk" rating would be better for this movie.
lol nah
MMMStudios1000 why not?
RagingGumballMachine Well, in my opinion, the movie was too tiresome and dull to have any moments be funny, even if you're drunk.
lol I get that. The movie is fucking hilarious if you're main goal is to rip into it! Like what me and my friends did.... then again, we couldn't even finish the movie just because of how predictable it was, and not being able to understand Jeff Bridges really started to get annoying.... nah it's dog shit.
I know people that enjoyed this movie. I thought it was stupid, dull, and ridiculous. AND The CGI WAS terrible.
All true but I still loved it :P
That was a great Jeff Bridges impersonation Jeremy lol
"He's not playing Santa Clauss anytime soon." lol
I liked the graphic novel and the movie (as a guilty pleasure), but it is definitely not dogshit.
I saw RIPD at home a couple of months ago, it's not garbage, it's okay but it is a very silly movie.
Honestly, I find the movie as a guilty pleasure. I like it, though I know it's complete garbage. :P
Same :) I liked the CGI, actually.
jeremy i would watch a whole vid of your jeff bridges impersonation
Jeremy's jeff bridges impression is making me laugh so hard that i can't breath!
Dogshit? That was mean :'(
+DogOfHades it bad
I didn't think it was a bad movie, just not a particularly good one. And as to it being a rip-off....well unless you're going to start deducting points from EVERYTHING you shouldn't really hold that against it. I mean that is just the current state of Hollywood right now; rip-off factory. Everything is either a remake, reboot, rip-off, or based-on; there are no original movies.
But not THAT blatant.
Plus plenty of directors have a style of their to make the stories they tell original like Edgar Wright with a lot of his movies outside of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World there are others I just can't think of them at the moment. Looper was another great original Sci-Fi movie
I nearly had a heart attack when you made that star wars comparison o.0
I like to think that those giant swirling black vortexes that appeared everywhere in the scene where they were driving around trying to get to the golden tower were visual representations of all the plot holes in the movie.
Sorry Man i liked this movie its in my category of so bad its good
he doesn't have that category
+Giuseppe Brancato in my own category
Kenneth The Wizard good for you
I think this is the first "dogsh*t" rated film I've watched, and boy did it live up to the rating. 90 minutes I'll never get back.
1:22 hopefully a new and improved style special edition of star wars does that
You can tell how the review is going to go by Jeremy's face in the thumbnail lol
This movie is so bad... so dumb...
The review was too long. :) Still, entertaining.
Hey Jeremy, are you by any chance growing a Big Boss Beard for Phantom Pain?
I also noticed that Jeff Bridges is using the exact same marble mouth voice here as he uses in the Seventh Son trailer....
He was good in X-men origins. He really seemed like wade Wilson, talking nonstop and I found several of his lines to be hilarious. Sure that wasn't his movie but he portrayed Deadpool perfectly
That Jeff Bridges impression, LOL.
I remember that Zach Galifinakis was actually originally cast in the Jeff Bridges role. I'm genuinely curious how the movie might have been different that it had stayed like that haha
I forgot about Reaper. You're right it does remind me of that show.
Beat part (if there are any) are the gags about the alternate identities. And the banana gun. That is it.
Jeremy because you love us review the game of this
That fucking Jeff Bridges impression. I'm dying.
4:17 I fucking love that sound.
I agree, its like MIB and Dead Like Me's red headed step child.
I fucking died at the Jeff Bridges impression
I actually enjoyed this movie. Had plenty of funny bits, Ryan's character and Jeff's were constantly at each other throats but it made sense with Ryan just dying and trying to reach to his love. Had only one problem and that was it Ryan's death. Bacon's character didn't have to kill Ryan to get the gold back, Ryan had wanted nothing to do with the gold because if his girl found out, she would've been unhappy.
Agreed Sir.
Well, that's great. I knew this movie was like MiB with supernatural stuff, but every time I saw the trailer I was actually really interested in seeing the movie. So even though I knew of the similarity to MiB, I was still willing to see it because even if it is a rip off, it can still be great. I still want to see it though. Maybe when it's on Netflix. I don't know. Thanks for the review Jeremy.
I Love Ryan Reynolds he’s 1 of my Favorite Actors My Favorites Of his are Harold & Kumar, Blade Trinity, Smokin Aces, Green Lantern, Safe House, R. I. P. D., Criminal, Deadpool 1 & 2, Life 2017, Hitman’s Bodyguard Films, Hobbs & Shaw, & 6 Underground
Make a vid wher you talk about your top 3 movis and tv show
I love the Jeff Brides voice XD
Lol I died when he started to imitate Jeff Bridges xD
bro .. I just watched this movie in 2022 and it was awesome.
I looked you up for the review because I thought you'd have a good opinion on the breakdown of the movie.. I was wrong.
That part in Empire Strikes back.. Hilarious!
The first thing I thought when I saw the trailer was M.I.B. meets Jonah Hex!
Your Jeff Bridges impersonation sounds like a country Bill Cosby
True, mostly I was attempting to bring attention to the simple fact that the concept is not at all new and is emulated in many forms.
OMFG RIGHT WHEN U SAID DOGSHIT MY DOG SHIT ON MY FLOOR LMAO
Man I thought it would be like Dead like me. I love that show
Ah, I had such good hopes that even though it looked like a MIB rip-off meets Constantine, it would be fun, cause of Bridges and Reynolds. Both are brilliant, funny actors who know how to make a movie fun and I really hoped that this movie would've been the start of this awesome duo, but unfortunately then...I still might rent it to give it a look, but thanks for the advice JJ ;)
Your Jeff Bridges impression is fucking hilarious!
put closed caption on during jeff bridges impersonation
Brad Dourif doesn't always play the bad guy, What about in Senseless, and Urban Legends?
thank God I saw this before going to the movie theater
i liked ' buried ' at least the first time you see it its cool , very emotional .
Yes.. Well said, sir.
I pretty much agree with what he said in his intro...When I saw the trailer I thought it was MIB with dead people instead of aliens
Kevin Bacon not only played a villain here (we knew that before he ever pulled the trigger) but a very hokey one as well.
I didn't think of Men In Black when I first saw the trailer, but now I do. It seems like they just took elements from Men In Black, Dead Like Me, and Reaper and threw them together.
one of my favorites
You'll need to review the conjuring!! I need to know what I'm in for before I'm dragged with my family to go see it!!!
listening to you talk is so exhausting but insightful
I'd pay to see Brad Dourif playing an evil Santa
Are you reviewing the conjuring?
Please just do a video of imitations. Jeff Bridges, Shaggy, Bane... you kill me
