    It should be a building requirement for every builder when they build or renovate a property, to install at least one pull-up bar somewhere in the property.

    Thank you so much for this review. As a new calisthenics content creator, this review is exactly what I was waiting for. I needed a pull bar where I could install rings and do muscle ups and it seems like this is the way to go. Just subscribed and like!

    Only problem is you can only put olympic plates on one side. The other side is a bar holder. This is quite inconvenient. I'm trying to order another one of the plate holders, but CAP so far doesn't respond.

    Great review! Is the rack still holding up? I read some reviews that said it started wobbling during pull-ups after a few months of use - not fixed by tightening the hardware. What's been your experience? Thank you for your time.

      They say you need to place all nuts and bolts and then tighten them all at the same time once they’re all in place. Most people probably miss that, leading to squeaking and wobbling.

  • @pbh07
    @pbh07 5 років тому +1

    Exactly how tall is this bar? Does it come with J hooks? And have you weighted it down and tried muscle ups? The reason I'm asking is because I wasnt to get into doing crossfit type movements, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on a rack. I guess I want to know if this is a sturdy overall rack.

      instagram.com/p/B3Vk6VcAV-1/?igshid=8foxd4jiqskz this is a ring muscle up from seated without the weights. If you are doing a lot of swinging you would probably want to add the weight. But I don’t kid or swing so that’s not an issue. But if you do kip or swing then you would eat to weigh the rack down

    Are the BANDS good enough? Do we REALLY need the bar?

    • @JerryTeixeira
      @JerryTeixeira  4 роки тому +1

      The bands are ok, they are not as good as a solid weight of progressive bodyweight. The intensity is variable over the range of motion, you aren’t going to build strength as well nor hypertrophy as well with bands. Also it’s I credibly difficult to imitate a pull up with bands.
      Bands have a place, they are fine to use, but they do not replace progressive body weight training nor standard weighted resistance trining where you have a non variable load over the full range of motion

      It’s out of stock from the manufacturer on amazon. Nearly Everything from every manufacturer is, so what you are seeing is private sellers flipping their units, not the actual manufacturer gouging. Of course since the government has everyone locked down the manufacture can’t make of ship any new units to amazon. Fitness equipment manufacturers aren’t “essential businesses”

      @JerryTeixeira  5 років тому

      6 months late with my reply, very sorry about that. youtube hid your question and I just saw it under "potential spam" sorry about that. I do think you could make this work in hollow body, which would be pullups with a slight posterior pelvic tilt and your feet forward about a foot. I do think you are likelu to hit the ground with your feet if you were stretched straight out in dead hang. The bar is 85 inches. so you could take 85 inches from the floor and see where that places your hands?

    • @JerryTeixeira
      @JerryTeixeira  5 років тому

      actually 6'7! read that wrong at first. you can do them even at your height, but you are going to beed to be in more of an L-sit position with legs at about 45 degree angle relative to the torso. If you are decent already at pullups you could swing it that way. It is going to cause a deeper engagement of the anterior core muscles and really build your abdominals and hip flexors and not just your back

      The price has been 120 for a while through the manufacturers amazon shop, the reason the price is much higher due to COVID is because these are private sellers scalping

    It is $120 and not very stable. I would suggest something you can bolt into the stud like:
    www.amazon.com/dp/B019H3C8L4

    • @JerryTeixeira
      @JerryTeixeira  5 років тому +2

      It was on sale when I bought it, and I have no issues with it being unstable. A bolt to the wall option is fine for those who want to bolt something to the wall, of course, but that isn’t what i wanted. I want to train outside in the sunlight so I wanted a free standing rack. You can secure this to the Ground. Or just put 45lb plates on the plate holders at the base and it is very stable. I don’t swing around in an uncontrolled manner so I have not had to worry about anchoring it, but you can definitely do that if needed.

      Right but it’s not the manufacturer. It’s small sellers who bought and are flipping them, the manufacturer sold out and they are out of stock on amazon. If you look at who is selling them it’s individuals flipping them. Cap has been pot of stock for weeks, 119.99 was the normal price. I paid 85 when I bought mine when they had a sale on them, they have been 109 to 119 since November or so
