  • The sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica) is great fun to grow!
This amazing plant has leaves that fold together as soon as they are touched. If their foliage is touched a second time, the plant's branches quickly droop downwards as a mechanism to deter herbivores! They also produce stunning, pink, pom-pom flowers!
Sensitive plants are fast growing and easy cultivate, and make a perfect addition to windowsills at home or in schools!
This video provides easy to follow instructions on how to grow your very own sensitive plant!

we call this plant in the Philippines "Makahiya" a Tagalog/Filipino term for "Shy" which attributes to its leaves closing when touched and we consider these plants as weeds
