They became America's Team because they were on TV more than any other team in the NFL. That's the truth.
They took the 4 pm slot and ran with it all the way to the bank.
It’s because of the cowboys cheerleaders
Wrong
Also every year they have at least three of the top five watch regular season games in NFL
These guys don’t remember jack!! It was indeed that CBS TV deal that got them national exposure that created that narrative.
Rob G in the building been hearing his voice for so many years now its good to finally see who's behind the voice
Rob G is great
He’s been on camera a lot
A lot of New York transplants is why there’s a lot of Yankees fans in LA. LA natives aren’t Yankee fans
You’re kidding yourself bud. Born and raised in la and I’m a diehard Yankees lakers cowboys fan. Sometimes I root for the dodgers when the Yankees out be we the last of a dieing breed. We have it tough
Cowboys are a brand . And a major media market i think like a top 5 market so its not just about winning absolutely not . KC is loved by Hollywood and its fandom thats an extension from that lets face it ...
Why would a team from Missouri be loved by Hollywood? That not some major market
KC is far larger than you think. At the time Troy, Emmett Smith and the cowboys were bigger than life in the 90s. Now KC is bigger than life. So the answer is yes. Besides. Jerry Jones stole the Americas team name from the Chiefs in the 90s. There is literally proof of this.
Kansas city has been popular since pat arrived
Rob is correct ..the cowboys are americas team for that reason he explained well said!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Wrong. These guys don’t remember jack!! It was indeed that CBS TV deal in the 1970s that got them national exposure that created that narrative.
STOPPPP ITTTT (not a Cowgirls fan either)
If the Patriots couldn’t usurp the title of America’s team, hell naw KC ain’t take it
FACTS!!
Lol no way!!! The Cowboys have twice as many fans as the Chiefs and Patriots combined, the NFL should have the star in the logo
Haha the Cowboys are a joke
Short answer: no
Wasn't Billy "white shoes" Johnson, of the Oilers, the first to wear white shoes?
Yes
No he wasn't
Joe Namath
The Jets Joe Namath was the first to wear white shoes.
@@davidcovington1046No. Joe Namath.
Here we go with this stupid topic again. Look, when a team surpasses the Cowboys' estimate $9 billion appraisal, surpasses them in ratings and outsells and outearns them, then that team will be America's team. Until then, drop it, because the "new America's team" isn't sticking and is just a dumb talking point to waste airtime.
You clearly know nothing.
If the Patriots during their 19 year run as 6X SB champs, 9X AFC Champs and .763 win% weren’t given that moniker the Chiefs are SOL.
Cowboys Yankees Lakers are the 3 most beloved and hated teams in their sport and are always talked about no matter what
I hate all 3 teams
They’re definitely americas team! They’re equivalent to our sitting president
As long as the Chiefs keep guys around who built this legacy,I don't see them fading.
Pat,Trav,Clyde,Chris,Danna,Gay Jr,Snead,& Butker have all been here for the bulk of this run.
Rob hates on Mahomes all the time. He gives lesser quarterbacks props for way less than what Pat has accomplished
The Cowboys were Never Americas team. Lamar hunt started his own league. The AFL. He put a team in Dallas. The Texans. The NFL combated Lamar Hunt and put a second team in Dallas. The Cowboys. Lamar moved his team to Kansas city. And it is there the Chiefs became Americas team. There is TV footage of Lamar Hunt calling the Chiefs Americas team because it was in the heartland of America and none of the surrounding states had a football team so most of the Midwest became Chiefs fans. Then later in the 90s Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys and stole the Americas team. There is literally video documentation of this to back it up.
Naw from the market and promotion standpoint the cowboys were always Americas team
What?
The New England Patriots couldn't even do that.
Villains and America's team at the same time, must be nice.
in the NFL, Cowboys, Steelers, and 49ers definitely have the largest fan bases. Their fans are always rolling deep in away games
49er fan , throw in the Packers and Raiders with the outlaw and criminal fan base, are the 5. The Dolphins are right behind those 5.
Raiders and Giants as well b
As a outsider aussie. I thought maybe americans team coz of the name cowboys , coz u think of wild west america and giving some troubled players 2nd chances
hahhahahaha. i thought the same!
Cowboys played in five super bowls in the seventies
I think they were called America's team because of that star on the helmet, which is on the American flag. If The Patriots were not called New ENGLAND, their whole concept could have made them America's team.
I guess if you want to cook up another Super Bowl you got to give ‘em a cool name like Americas team
Tell me another team that’s been so-so for what 30 years and still is the number one after all the smokes settles
No…. They were saying the same about the Patriots
what hell is rob talking about
Why New England should be if anything 🤷🏽♂️
If the patriots couldn’t do it I doubt the chiefs can or have. Coming from a 49ers fan that’s just what it is.
I’m from Kansas City and I agree with the 3 “America’s Teams”. Definitely the Yankees, Lakers, and Cowboys. Don’t like any of them, but it’s the truth. Go Chiefs!
Rob is wrong. Washington Redskins generated more money in sales than any other team in the 80's, and up until the early 90's. From DC to Northern Florida, everyone loved Washington. Dan Snyder ruined the franchise..
The chiefs are definitely Americas team congratulations everyone gooooooooooo chiefssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
No, there not. The Chiefs didn't become relevant until they Mahomes. The Cowboys have been relevant for nearly 60 years.
Kansas City is not America’s team. They are an important foundation in the history of the NFL, especially since they were AFL champions
The cowboys were never America’s team not in my life time and neither are the chiefs !!!!!!
U must be 8
Nooooooooooo 👀
Who cares who is called Americas so called team I think it was always a toss between Dallas and Pittsburgh both have been MEDIOCRE for a long time.Chiefs probably are now with Mahomes doing a million commercials and now MR. SWIFTY who cares, they have to play the niners in a SUPERBOWL just hope the corrupt refs don’t hand the Chiefs the game is all I’m concerned about it’s what I’m kinda expecting
Imo the Brady/ Belichick Patriots were Americas team.
The Chiefs are Americas team and live in Dallas
KC is America's team contrary to your "glamour" argument. American psychology is changing. People used to be enamored with big flashy cities like New York, Chicago, Dallas, etc. But as the Internet and technology has shrunk the world these cities have lost their shine and mystique. KC sort of represents the heartland of America. The "good old boy" rural America. It's NOT the glamour anymore.
The internet always waits for the cowboys to lose to put them in crying Jordan faces or make their fans a new meme so I see your point but it’s still them by far
I am a new fan. I really don't care about Cowboys. Only Pundit repeatedly selling the narrative.
No offense to Chiefs but they are in Kansas City you can't compare it with Dallas and thats why Dallas lost the final in the world cup game because they are just Dallas they are not New York they are levels in life 🤷♂️
The Cowboys are because y’all keep talking about these bums. Particularly Skip Bayless. He covered the 90s Cowboys and wrote a book about them. So he’s biased.
He infected FirstTake with this narrative and now he’s on Undisputed doing the same thing. The team is overrated because of the coverage they receive. People are getting tired of it. They’re tired of hearing about LeBron & the Lakers too.
Basically
Skip bayless: 🤬
Nope.
