I love that Kurogiri's job description basically seems to just be "Try to keep Shigaraki from losing his shit for as long as possible" but he ultimately still ends up going "Fine, you can burn down the city if you want to" in the end. Poor guy's stuck babysitting a psychopath lol.

I actually gained a lot of respect for Bakugo in this arc where he showed TRULY that he wants to win right. He wants to be the actual best. He wanted Todoroki, the best, to fight him fair so he could say he'd truly won. There was integrity there that i appreciated.
100% agreed. Sure, he's super abrasive with how he goes about it, but I think anyone would be insulted if their opponent in any match (let alone the finals) basically gives up in the middle of the fight/doesn't even give it their all. Plus, how they treated him afterward was completely unacceptable. I fully believe that he should have been allowed to decline the medal because he felt it wasn't completely earned instead of getting chained up and put on display like a feral animal.

Still fully 100% disrespect him for just bullying everyone and abusing others because he had a quirk. He was abusive since he got it, and was still abusive once Deku got his and they enrolled in UA. Dude has some growth throughout the show sure, but doesn't excuse his shitty actions of just bullying the weak.
@@Vi_Vi_1 right? world full of superheroes or not, that is just asking for a lawsuit against the school, especially considering it was on live tv and not a single teacher seemed to protest against literally chaining up and muzzling a child.
@@AnimeFream not a fan of bullies either. I actually hated him a lot in the beginning. This was just the first time I gave him some grudging respect--like "okay, you're still a horrible person, but at least you have some standards for your own pride"
That said, I have really appreciated the journey he's gone on. I think his growth is much more compelling than say, ***SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO ISN'T CAUGHT UP ON THE MANGA*** Endeavor, who is a damn adult and has been for a long time, and abused his family horribly. I can forgive a bully teen way easier than I can forgive a husband and father who harms his family.
Sadly you dont get to hear it in Sub, but when Katsuki get told he cant use that name and he walks back to his seat and argues, in Dub you can barely manage to hear him say "Lets go outside and Ill show you why murder should be in my name" and I think thats one of the coldest lines😂

The Todoroki family plotline is definitely one of the peaks of MHA for me

This is definitely one of the best arcs in My Hero Academia. Stain is peak antagonist design.
Bakugo had a mini character development arc there in picking his name. He became humbler, going from king to lord.
Is that what you took from that? He just misunderstood why his first pick be vetoed. Consider the name he winds up cementing later on.

Also I haven't seen all episodes of this show. Only watched up until season 5 or something.
Bakugo have one of the more subtile character devellpment during the show, kid he was the best, he didn't work for it, he didn't have to to try, it just was how things were, but in UA, he lost to Deku and couldn't see how to beat Todoroki, something change in him, something subtil, but something that allowed him to get back on top. in this tournement, his hardest match was Uraraka and he would have lost it before his change. Subtil change like this happen to him a few times and it kept him on top until OFA became busted.
The chained first place Bakugo is the funniest shit ever man 😂🤣
I am sure that Nick has Eye of Foresight or Nick is most intelligent being in the universe like Nick just by seeing 2 mins of an episode and he knows what's mangaka was thinking while writing this scene and what's going to happen in next 10 episodes.😂😂

I'm not sure if it's canon or not, but there's a popular (or at least semi-popular) theory regarding Bakugo's personality that it's indirectly caused by his quirk. There are quirks that overtly alter the holder's physiology. There are even some emitter quirks that go so far as to have pseudo-heteromorphic qualities. However, there are also quirks that more subtly alter the holder. Did you know that nitroglycerin is used in very low doses as a medicine for people with heart conditions? It relaxes blood vessels, which in healthy individuals would drastically lower blood pressure. The popular theory about Bakugo's personality is that because his body naturally produces nitroglycerin to secrete as a component of his sweat, he's constantly doped up on stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline because that's the only method the human body has to increase its own blood pressure.
Gran Torino was inpsired by Yoda, which is why he's goofy when we first meet him but is actually a great teacher when you get passed the act

Most likely, if an anime story takes place in Japan. The least safe place is Shibuya. Shibuya is a chaos ground in multiple anime, like MHA, JJK and Tokyo Revengers, there's probably more, but those are the ones I can think of rn
I love how something so simple as Hero Names, become a massively impressive tool for characterization throughout the series. Bakugo's final name being one of the most satisfying.
Can you spoil me on that? I've seen tons of fan suggestions and headcanon regarding it and I long since dropped the series, but that's something I'm curious about.
Man I never get tired of My Hero. Season 2 was my favorite season for a long time until the most recent Season. Please stick in there Nick because a lot of people complain that My Hero gets slow in Season 4 and 5 but I just think of it as story building. It's worth the build up in my opinion
those people are revisionist asshats, season 4 and especially 5 are some of my favorite my hero seasons and very, very good arcs

Horikoshi made the relationship between the winged nomu and the winged kid known in an extra, but didn't fully specify what it meant. At the time, most fans took it to mean the nomu was the kid, but knowing more on the doctor's research from later in the series, it's just as likely he used a copy of the quirk without the kid necessarily even knowing.

I feel like when discussing great scenes in MHA, Bakugou vs. Todoroki gets overlooked too much. That scene right after Shoto loses and Bakugou is screaming/nearly crying is so underrated to me. It’s just one of those scatterings of depth for Bakugou that make me enjoy his character so much.
horikoshi said that if shoto used his fire, he would've beat katsuki but i really don't see how. katsuki used howitzer impact to act as a vacuum for shoto's flames, absorbing them and rendering them useless against him. not only that, even if he did succeed in using them, he'd only make katsuki sweat more and therefore increase his ability to produce explosions. not to mention that katsuki can simply propel himself upwards to avoid flame attacks. he'd have little hope against another flashfreeze heatwave, but shoto really wasn't in the headspace to produce another. i love both characters, and i cant wait for you to see how they progress :-)
Shoto could probably output enough flames to penetrate the howitzer impact. That is to say, if Hirokoshi wanted to make shoto win using his flames, thsts most likely what happens

2x12 was my favorite depiction of of Katsuki so far in the show. He wants an all out winner takes all match and I heavily respect that. Each time I see Shoto turn off his flames I just get livid. Not because it doesn’t make since but for what he’s taking away from Katsuki.
