The United States really dropped the ball when LGM-118 Peacekeeper program was not fully implemented and then the 50 missiles that were deployed were taken out of service to comply with a treaty that Russia had decided not to honor.

I was an engineer on the MX Peacekeeper LCSC launch control support console at Norden Systems from 83 to 94. That and J-STARS. Everything I worked on was either retired or about to be. I'm as retired and irrelevant as rhe systems I worked on. :-( Even Norden Systems is gone. Someone told me all the buildings on Norden Place are gone.

F35 is now capable of carrying B61-12 nukes. F22, F15 and F16 also carry the B61-12. We have 400 of the B61-12 and now that Russia left the treaties we will keep those as we make the B61-13. Originally we were going to replace them 1 for 1.
