It's quite surprising, cos I'm always thinking about how little sleep my wild garden birds get, starting their day practically pre dawn, espec the songbirds (I'm in UK but it'll be much the same there). Maybe it's a Cockatoo thing?? Rainforests (where they maybe go to sleep?) being darker, with longer 'nights'???

Birds need 12 hours of sleep per night. It needs to be dark and quiet for them. If they don't get the right amount of sleep they'll start misbehaving
