I don't support the judgment based on color but somewhat similar thing has happened with me. Actually, I was a really dark skin toned girl in my school times,but I never cared about it because I was so much in studies, everyone appreciated me for my talents and studies but many made fun of my color. When I was in class 10th, I got a crush on a guy in my neighborhood,when he knew about it,he laughed it off by saying that " wo kaali billi muje pasand karti h." After that i realised how a teenage me fell for a chapri who wasn't even worth it. 3 years passed,in these years as I grew up in my twenties,my skin tone got lighter and lighter and mysteriously I got so fair now. Last year, attended a wedding,that boy was there too. As I entered,he got so shocked and was keeping an eye on me Everytime.I didn't even give him a look and ignored him completely. I enjoyed that very much lol. Many girls in India are treated like this in India, unfortunately. So I know this feeling very well. But I never felt bad for my skin color I was always proud for the person I always was.
