Attempting Strata Florida

- The last river crossing of the day was the most dangerous - it is where the incident happened with that poor girl and the 4x4. I did not have the go pro on for some reason but when we tried to push my bike across the current swept all 3 of us and my xr400 away down river. My bike disappeared for an hour and sunk to the bottom. We had to try find it, the only part I recognised when searching for it was a bit of the seat which was just about visible in the water. We took the gamble and it was the bike, trying to get it up a 10ft swamp filled muddy bank was very difficult. Incredible how strong a current can be.
we towed it 4 miles on the trail til we reached a road then went to the nearest house to call for help. We then had to call a garage from the house to come pick my bike up which cost £120. The bike was at the bottom of the river for a good 45minutes so I did not want to attempt to start it incase of damaging it.
Once it was at the garage we drained the oil and put flush through it 3 times - warming it up every time. It ran the next day but now has ticking noises.
what a laugh
Amazing video!!! XRs vs force of nature
cheers mate, i was so gutted when i found out it wasn't filming, cause it didn't just take my bike away it took all of us to ! We ended up about a 1/3 of a mile down river. Was mental haahaa.
Thanks for the message, It is due for a top end so maybe I will wait it out and do the same as your mate did. cheers mate.
have seen the vid of your mate getting sucked away i love it, glad you all saved the bike
yeah, i've ordered some cheap oil to put through it again, then put in some high quality, check the valves then hope for the best

no... No!!! NOOOO !! Stop the story man oh my god !!! thats crazy. I feel sorry for your bike and what ever might have happened to this girl lol but where are you riding, down rivers?? haha, it looks cool. and OH NO that man at the start fell in the mudy crap. that sucks. but are you seriously in a river or is it just flooded ?
Remember to drain all the oil!!! and do 3-4 oil changes in 100/150km. The water entered into the engine for sure...
Did it fire up after it drowned?
