Colleen, i usually don’t leave comments but when you said you had mom guilt, i thought I’d say why i like watching you. I never had parents who celebrated me let alone my half birthday. You are teaching me how to be an amazing mom when i eventually have kids because i never knew the love that you give your kids every day. I don’t think you realize how much of an impact you have on your kids. They are very lucky to have you. Don’t worry about missing out on some days with them, you are doing everything right and i aspire to be a mom like you.
Day 10 of identifying bird calls in Colleen’s yard: 9:38 possibly California Towhee (the high pitched chirp that sounds like when your smoke detector is out of batteries) 11:18 possibly Oak Titmouse
I LOVE how Flynn thinks about the twins and their respective personalities when giving gifts or even something like the cakes! He’s so thoughtful, and he will definitely grow up to be a wonderful human being.
I strongly suggest the books “The Monster At The End Of This Book” and “ Another Monster At The End Of The Book” They are amazing and funny books with Elmo and Grover making sure your kids have a good laugh. Since the twins love the characters so much it’s a great addition to add to your shelves.
I am so FKN PROUD OF YOU, Colleen. Being able to finally say that you know showing your kids that you can chase your dreams if you work hard is an admirable goal. You'll always struggle with mom guilt, even when they're grown and out of the house (we all do 💜), but it's so healthy that you can remind yourself in the moment that you're doing the right thing. Hell yeah!!
I wish I could see how the babies and Flynn are doing and see how much they have grown! Hearing the intro song made me so sad. Colleen's vlogs have been a part of my everyday life for 2 years. I looked forward to it every day. Its a weird dynamic fans have with their favorite youtuber. You feel like you know them and they are one of your family members you just see them on a screen in stead of real life. They mean so much to you but your fav youtuber does not know anything about you really. So its really a one-sided relationship. I am just sad and I wish Colleen and her family the best and I always will no matter what comes out in the future. ❤
Book recommendations: we LOVE the “The Pigeon” series. They are so funny and also semi interactive. The pigeon needs a bath is a really fun one. Thanks for all of the book ideas 💕
Hey Colleen! Just wanted to say I started watching your vlogs regularly when I started my undergraduate degree and now 4 years later I just got accepted to medical school! Thank you so much for helping me destress every day with your daily life! Off to the next chapter ❤️
TTQ: could you show us what kind of vocal warm-ups and techniques you learned with your new vocal coach? I know you said that you learned new things you hadn't learned in all of your musical training. I think it'd be super cool to see!
I love the difference between Maisy and Wesley’s facial expressions. I feel like Wesley has a resting curious face, and Maisy has resting “I’m judging you” face. Also the way her little scowl turns into a huge smile is so cute.
Can I just say, I think it is so beautiful that you have this huge room full of books, it’s so important that we keep books and the imagination from books for children, especially books like this it’s so important to teach young children that it is ok to be yourself. So proud of you Colleen 🤍
THANK YOU for recommending books! I love hearing you read them too! Also THE VOICEOVERS ARE SO GOOD. Its so cool to see the twins growing up before us! I would love to hear you talk about the changes in the babies personalities or likes or interests in the past 6 months!
Gardening and books (and musical theater) are my favorite topics! My kids and I love the book "Duck! Rabbit!" "Z is for Moose" is a silly one my kids really like.
I love this book banned series. But if you don’t already have it I highly recommend Harold and the purple crayon! It was my brother’s favorite book growing up and I’ve read it in the past to kids and they looooove it. ❤
Hey Colleen!! My name is Isabel and I am 17. This is not a interesting cuestion, but I wanted to know if you opened you PObox latley, I sent something I made for maisy a long time ago, and idk if ir arrived well (im from Europe so it went a long way) and I am afraid she is going to grow out of it, but maybe it just got lost in the way and Im just worried about something that is never going to happen🥲 But anyways, I looove your vlogs and videos, they make my day everyday!! And you are the most incredible and wonderful woman!! 💕💖
Some of my FAVOURITE books as a teacher are the Elephant and Piggie stories by Mo Willems! Theres sooo many to choose from, but my favourite is “We Are in a Book” the characters become self aware that they’re in a book and it’s so dramatic😂 I loved to change my voice and make everything so dramatic and my students were OBSESSED! They asked to read it every Friday for months😂 more good ones are “There is a Bird on Your Head” “Let’s go for a Drive” “I Really Like Slop”
“The Colour Monster” by Anna Llenas is also amazing! I was able to foster such great conversations about emotions and feelings! My students loved this one too!
Kory’s editing and voiceovers for this video are fire!!!! Yay for Kory! You are so lucky to have a bestie like that. And he’s an amazing editor? The jackpot. Wish we would see more of him❤
Hey Colleen! I love to see the variety of books you have for all the kids to learn! I never had a lot of books at home, but today I'm definitely a bookworm and love a really good book. For the kids: There's a book I saw the other day called "There's a Ghost in this House" By Oliver Jeffers, it's very creative and it's an excellent read to demystify childhood fears!!
I love that you are talking about banned childrens books! I work at a public library, and a lot of the books in general you mentioned are ones that are always checked out. It's always so sad to learn about the books that have been banned in places, the todd parr family book and all his other books are really good books, he has ones about brothers and sisters as well.
When I was younger I loved the book “the monster at the end of this book” it’s a Sesame Street book and from what I remember it’s interactive and I think Flynn would love it!
The Book without Pictures has a more interactive version… like a madlibs (where the kids fill in the words). My niece loves them both. Also, books by Mo Williems are amazing. All the pigeon and the piggy books. Funny and fun for the kids and adults reading them. My favorite book of all time is “The Next Place” it is a sweet way to deal with grief.
Something important to remember is that your kids do have valuable experiences while you’re away as well. Those are also important to their growth, and mental well being. I know this doesn’t help or fix how much you miss them while you’re gone, but something to keep in mind!
Educator here! I bet Flynn would love The Bad Seed, The Good Egg, The Cool Bean, The Big Cheese, The Smart Cookie….there are some others. They teach feelings and other peoples feeling. My K-5 kids love them!
Hey just wanted to share- the fire stick cactus @ 11:53 is super toxic to pets and kids- can irritate skin and eyes for people, cause vomiting if pets eat. Just something to be cautious of, I live in AZ and they’re all over!
Love your book suggestions. Fellow twin mom here... One other interactive book my kids loved is The Monster at the End of this Book (and the sequel) and if you haven't read Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site I think your kids would all love that too. 🥰
Tortilla talk question: Is Flynn going to school next year? What are you thinking about school for him? ❤😊 TTQ: Do Flynn, Maisy, and Wes play with different things or act differently when they are around different people? (You, Erik, Kory, your Mom, your dad) Also, it is so cool how big the chicken are! So cute (and the twins)❤
Colleen is such an amazing mom. So many parents would even think about having a half birthday for their kids, and Colleen getting them presents and spending time to make a cake just proves how great she is. Also the fact that she always gives the same amount of attention to all her kids is so cute. Like how she let Flynn help blow out the candles, and made him so happy. She is so slay
Twin mama here, with a love for books!Colleen, my kiddos loved Andy Lee's "Do not open this book". He is an australian comedian and has writen 7 books in the series. Very similar to the one you've shown "Dont push the button".
The monster at the end of this book!!! It is such a fun Sesame Street book that your kids will love and it’s very much like the don’t push the button book
Early childhood educator here from Australia. Some of my favorite books are... Where is the green sheep? Ten little fingers ten little toes (this is about cultures.) The giving tree Dear zoo Wombat stew Just some of my favorites 😄
Poor Colleen is feeling mom guilt but watching the kids on their HALF BIRTHDAY, just proves how great of a mom she is. They’ve come so far from how scary their beginnings were. They couldn’t have gotten through that without the endless love of their parents. These are the things Maisy and Wesley will think of when they get older. Not that mom wasn’t there 1 day. The forever love of a Mommy, a Daddy and a Flynn. Their family. It just makes me smile. 🥰🥰🥰 The love of my parents is what I know and I will always remember. Not that my dad wasn’t there for a school function I don’t even remember. Fill your kids with love and they’ll pass that along to their kids. Sorry for the text wall. I’m just passionate about it! Love to you and your family Colleen! ♥️
“The name jar” and “how alma got her name” are awesome books, probably for a littttle older than Flynn that are great for convos about identity, acceptance, and celebrating where we come from
I absolutely love the book "How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?" (there's more in that series too) but it can be slightly interactive, is relatively short and my Kindergarten students LOVE it. Also for the twins (and you've probably got it somewhere) is "Boom Chicka Boom!"- I've literally got that book memorized at this point- it's super fun for learning the alphabet!
Love Kory’s voice overs, him doing the voice for Maisy makes me laugh so much. 14:55 talking about banned books do you know Colleen that good night moon is a banned book because it shows a picture of a cigarette bud container. I’m amazed at how so many books from my childhood are banned.
Artichoke plants grow various sizes. First pick the largest which is on top. Then pick the medium ones slightly down from top. Then last pick the littler ones usually toward the bottom. When the leaves start to separate at the base of the choke and they are tender when slightly squeezed time to harvest. Enjoy! Hope you feel better soon. 💕❤️💕
TTQ: have you ever considered writing a children’s book? i feel like stories about young Miranda would be so fun or even just a book about your love for theater and music. I don’t have kids but I’d be first in line to support you and get one! ❤
I'm a primary school teacher in training from Germany and I enjoy the books from Julia Donaldson, like The Gruffelo or Room on the broom. The children also love Froggy gets dressed by Jonathan London :) Definitely hoping for more book recommendations :)
Artichokes: Ritz crackers in a food processor, butter, garlic, salt and pepper to taste, add extra garlic for good measure, separate the leaves and stick the mix between the leaves (pain in the ass step), steam it for about 45 mins. Eat it like you normally eat your artichoke. Then you will hear the angels sing. You can dip the stuffed leaves in melted butter if you want Jesus himself to visit.
Flynn sounds like Ben from daddy day care! (2:39 here is where he really sounds like him) Flynn is so cute! Also Happy belated half birthday to the twins! Love you guys 🥰
Book recommendations from a teacher: Creepy Carrot, Pete the Cat books, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus (or any Mo Willems books)! Any books that have won the John Newbery award, the Caldecott award or the Coretta Scott King awards are quality books for story or illustration! So happy you’re sharing the passion for reading with your small kids, it will stick with them forever!
Oh my! My favorite book I used to read to my niece and nephew was, “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!”. It’s very interactive and very funny for the adults as well. I highly recommend! And I believe they have a whole series of books if I’m not mistaken. But the bus was definitely their favorite.
Hi Colleen. I hope you're doing okay. We miss you and the family. I'm not looking forward to fall or the holidays without seeing your videos. The kids birthdays, family Halloween costumes, your cancer fundraiser, and VLOGMAS!?! Just know you still have fans and people that care about you. 😁
Mom guilt is such a struggle. But you are so present when you are home and that is what they will remember the most. I hope you are able to overcome some of the mom guilt and not be so hard on yourself. You are an amazing mother!
My 15 month is obsessed with a book called ‘Nibbles the monster’ which is kind of interactive in the way you described and just pretty beautiful and great all around. I also really recommend ‘Bodies are Cool’ by Tyler Feder. Beautiful illustrations, loved by my baby, extremely important message of body positivity for a mom who struggles with that myself.
my pre-k kids LOVED the book with no pictures, they used to ask for it everyday. also when i was with infants and toddlers the indestructible books were a MUST.
Chica Chica Boom Boom is an awesome and funny alphabet book. Both my kids loved this book. It's colorful and silly and just a lot of fun as it tells a silly story while using the alphabet as the characters. Highly recommend!😁💕
Like I've said before. I love Good Night Moon. It brings back so many memories. You have so many wonderful books. It's sad when children's books are dangerous to read to our babies.
Book recommendations. When my kids were really little they loved any of the books by Sandra Boynton. She even came out with some that were set to music. They also really liked “The monster at the end of this book”
absolutely love cory’s voiceovers if maisy and her amazingly funny expressions!!!
Same the highlight of the vlogs for me
Also her face while they were signing and then Cory’s narration 😂 dead
*Kory
Her expressions are the best! 😂

I love how expressive maisy is with her facial expressions ❤
I agree
And the side eye. 😂😂😂 She’s so sassy 😊
She has such a "resting b**ch face" it's honestly hilarious ahaha
I’m cry-laughing at Maisy’s face during the birthday song/cake. She is such a character!
She had that face the whole time lol
@@Sav2coolll5 she did! Haha I love it.

They are amazing and funny books with Elmo and Grover making sure your kids have a good laugh. Since the twins love the characters so much it’s a great addition to add to your shelves.
I vividly remember my mom reading this to my siblings and I. We would laugh and laugh at that book. Such a great recommendation!!
I litterally came to the comments to suggest these my kids loved them especially when you try to throw a Grover voice in the mix 😂
Oh. I just commented this too, haha. Glad others love this book as well!
Lol me too!! Best memories of this book.
The Monster at the End of This Book was one of my favorites when I was younger!

I love Kory's voice overs! I also miss when Colleen and Kory try different drinks!
Everything tastes like a shoe or a tire to colleen. 😂
I am wheezing at Cory’s Maisy voiceover 😂😂😂😂😂
I'm living for Maisy's look when you all start singing...her side eye gets me every time! Wonder if she silently judges everyone...hahaha

Flynn picks out “everything” 🫠

The day the crayons quit ... funniest book ever!!! And love the 2nd one too. Belly laugh funny 🤣🤣
Hi Colleen. I hope you're doing okay. We miss you and the family. I'm not looking forward to fall or the holidays without seeing your videos. The kids birthdays, family Halloween costumes, your cancer fundraiser, and VLOGMAS!?! Just know you still have fans and people that care about you. 😁
Do you even know what she did? 😂 You definitely shouldn't miss her 🙃
You're a sheep. @@EEEEEEEE1572
Omg yes it's not gonna be the same 😞
Mom guilt is such a struggle. But you are so present when you are home and that is what they will remember the most. I hope you are able to overcome some of the mom guilt and not be so hard on yourself. You are an amazing mother!
Stir Crack Whisk Bake is a great interactive book!!! It goes through the steps of baking cupcakes.
OMG when they are a little older (or heck, even now) please please please get The Jolly Pocket Postman (and others in the series). SO GOOD.
Awww I love Wesley's reaction to the package of balls. He is so precious, they ALL ARE of course ❤🥰🥰🥰
I love watching Maisy’s judgy looks go into different expressions. Makes my day
I’m referring. To most videos not just this one.
Oh my god, I remember watching Colleen make that cake for Flynn like it was yesterday. It's unbelievable so much time has passed already.
Chica Chica Boom Boom is an awesome and funny alphabet book. Both my kids loved this book. It's colorful and silly and just a lot of fun as it tells a silly story while using the alphabet as the characters. Highly recommend!😁💕
I loveee watching you guys pick the fresh veggies and fruit!
A good interactive one is The Monster At the End of This Book! It’s a seasame street book and it’s similar to the don’t push this button one!
Like I've said before. I love Good Night Moon. It brings back so many memories. You have so many wonderful books. It's sad when children's books are dangerous to read to our babies.
That was my oldest son's very favorite! He had to hear it every night.💜
Interactive book suggestion: Dandelion Magic! Sooo cute!
My little ones love the pigeon books! "Don't let the pigeon drive the bus" and "Don't let the pigeon stay up late" are so cute!
I need a garden tour!!!! You live on the most beautiful land and I’m so curious about the flowers and food you grow ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Book recommendations. When my kids were really little they loved any of the books by Sandra Boynton. She even came out with some that were set to music. They also really liked “The monster at the end of this book”
