I love how the common genres are just sport and romance 😂 I love the spread idea! All the volumes flow so nicely and the way you organised them by publisher is also pretty cool, because you can see the slight differences in the prints across the years😲 Your collection is so cool! Are there any series you wish you had in a printed format (or English print)? ~ Anyway, hope you’re doing well
My birthday is Wednesday and I’m gonna spoil myself with getting more for my collection (only did 2 hauls in 2024, my worst year).
Watching you and others back in 2020 got me into collecting.

I have about 260 Volumes, because i only keep my favorites and sell the others i only find ok or didn't like.
There is not a single manga series in my collection i have not read at least three times ^^

The Moon on a Rainy Night - imo it has similar themes to the green manga with the music/intense first relationships/social anxieties with one of the MCs being hard of hearing. There's a lot of volumes out in English and it's ongoing in Japan. It's getting an anime soon.
Monthly in the Garden with My Landlord - A women coming off of a series of bad breakups decides to start fresh by living alone for a while. She finally finds the perfect place only to discover that after signing the paperwork it has a live in landlord. A mysterious woman who lives up in the attic and has her own reasons for trying to start over. It's not really dark at all, but it has some themes that overlap with the the Idol world that I find satisfying. It's finished in Japan, and has a few volumes out here with a few left to go.
This Monster Wants to Eat Me - Exactly how the name goes. Only it's very thoughtful about death, grief and memory and even fleshing (ahem) out the monsters. It's getting an anime which is why I tried it out recently to see what the hype was. Living up to it so far. Three volumes are out in English and I think it's ongoing with quite a few more out in Japan.
Pink Candy Kiss - It's not out in English until April, but the art is beautiful and one of those stories about a childhood snapshot kind of love meeting again 20 years later after the wear and tear of society has been on them and perhaps having a second chance at finding agency in life and what that might mean for their relationship. Viz picked it up and it's ongoing in Japan.
ahhhh the kimi to boku love warms my heart ❤ i also couldn't resist buying it in japanese, it's such a special series (and the covers are so nice!)
that rainbow days comment took me out tho bc nothing against the series but in my notes after watching its anime i wrote "it's like kimi to boku if the romance sucked" 😭😭😭
another person who even knows about kimi to boku omg HIII but ya rainbow days is … fun but in terms of “group of hs boys and the horrors of adolescence” nothing beats kimi to boku
New York New York is so GOOD!! I read it as a teenager and it hit me so hard. I was so touched with the story and the characters and I was so surprised to hear that years later it's translated into English. Definitely I'm getting both of the volumes, even tho it's been over a decade since I last read it but gosh it's so good. Not for everyone but I can totally recommend it!
im reading through MHA right now and i just saw you completely zoom past which volume i was on on goodreads LMAO (i have read thru vol 26, havent picked up 27 yet)
not that it matters but i was like FUCK tsukki notes has demolished me (literally is not a competition, can i chill tf out??)
its harder for me to speed thru manga and i read more novels than manga, and ive been focusing on my novels and Dragon Age books/comics over continuing MHA
but i am LOVING MHA, im up to date on owning the volumes and plan to keep reading this year :-)
Yu yu hakusho is my all time favorite anime/manga! If you struggle to get into the manga I’d heavily recommend watching the anime! It moves a bit faster in the beginning & it’s just so good!
