Just a tease, the next planned guides are; Ancient Pseudoscience Station Ancient Guardian Shadow Pieces And then the "final" caves guide, The Ancient Fuel Weaver Should be a good end to the month! :D
The Beard 777 I always like your optimism! You’re not only one of the best don’t starve experts I’ve ever seen, but one of the best UA-camrs! I think you’re VERY underrated to be honest
I'm trying to get better at this game, and can now consistently survive until the beginning of winter. These videos have really helped. Keep up the good work :D
Just want to know but how long are you surviving for now since I’m willing to help as much as I can even though my average days survived is only 130 I can we can exchange tips or I can just give you some tips. If you are better than me now though than good for you and good luck getting even better!
In DST u can basically survive forever... no matter what u do? Killing all the bosses solo is a different thing - the dragonfly and the bee queen are easy but the fuel weaver will give u trouble.. trust me.
I once brought 7 bunny men into the ruins and 27 carrots they fall asleep in the day but forgot I had meaty stew in my inventory so the bunny men where OK with me till one lost loyalty and convinced the party to attack me... Panic sets in! We rush through the ruins to escape the buck toothed terror everything is chasing us! Until a dead end was met. 2 rooks a knight and a bishop after us... Everything died except a single rook and the player prepared for the suicide mission had an amulet from someone's grave ready to haunt to take him Back from his undoing RIP hutch and those 7 crazy Bunny's but all's well for maxwell :)
I had the worlds most lucky spawn once I entered the cave entrance for the first time, walked forward for like a minute, exploring and entered the wilds biome, then the ruins were tight there was the ruins literally right next to the enterance I found them on day 4 DAY 4!?
So I set out on an expedition to find the ruins this evening, expected it to take a long time to find. Intended to head south from cave base, but got sidetracked by the existence of slurtles to the west. Realized I hadn't gone that far west before for whatever reason and decided to wander a bit. Found slurpers and lichen; got really excited about the lichen since I knew it meant the ruins were near. Bolted ahead and was immediately greeted by a shadow splumonkey. Thankfully, the only thing that died in the frantic retreat was my pride. (and eventually me, caught off-guard by like the 4th nightmare cycle because I didn't realize they were THAT frequent)
Ah yesssss one of the videos I have patiently been waiting for 😍😍😍 you make THE BEST guides/tutorials. Please dont ever stop, your work is helping a lot of people whether they say it or not.
I've really been enjoying all your guides! They're clear, concise and straight to the point without rambling on about anything unrelated or unnecessary. Breaking them up is a fantastic idea too! It puts everything, from every bit of the game, in a small easy to follow places for quick access! I shall return to your videos when I'm feeling brave enough to enter the ruins for my first time! Thanks so much! ^o^/ Keep at it~
when you make the fuelweaver guide, you should make a note that wearing the bone helmet will make both shadow and nightmare creatures friendly. allowing you to safely use the fully repaired science station without any danger after the bishops have been killed
Lmao I remember my first time in caves as my main wigfrid and no the Bunny's weren't the problem the problem was my horrid addiction to finding the ruins and I'd normally run out of light :'D
What is the mod that shows food details (not how much sanity health or hunger, I already have that one. The one that shows for example how many units of veggie a carrot is)?
I tried but jesus this project has put me in a terrible situation. I took forever to locate ruins and blue mushroom biome. 2 seasons has passed. Im chased by nightmares, low on health, hungry, my cave base got taken over by 3 glow worms. Outside I burn cuz it's summer, nearest rock biome has no more boulders and main base has no flingo. I have about 2 minutes to find a solution to 12 problems lmao!
Amazing video!!!!!! Ty for the knowledge mr.beard :D I love the idea of raising a friendly clockwork army! Can they be brought above? Does their chance to spawn from broken clock work make gears “renewable”? Thx again :D
The ruins: moderate risk (only due to the Splumonkeys though) with very mediocre rewards. Most things you can make with the thulecite aren't nearly as useful as you'd think they'd be. Only things I honestly make are the magilluminance, armor and crown and the walls for decoration while saving some in case I ever want to get more with the green gem items. The only other thing that's really worth it is the nightmare fuel farming (which is honestly easier to just go insane on the surface to do that) and the extra gears, as tumbleweed farming can eat at your soul. They need to update the Ruins by not only adding new things you can make from the thulecite (or even just adding a new material that has its own useful...well, uses) but also adding new threats to balance out the goodness. TL;DR: The Ruins are a mild disappointment and are in need of an update to increase the usefulness and danger EDIT: sorry for the wall of text ;;
@@anglecringe6917 Yeah, I typically agree that early game ruins rushing is very inefficient, even more so if you plan on basing with several people. I usually wait until day 30-35 before going into the ruins, as by then the base will be established enough and any materials you gather for ruins exploration can be easily gained back.
@@shanejett3550 Oh yeah, I completely understand the people who are playing the game for the early game difficulty, I'm only confused by the fact that they bring up a proposal to base with someone only to take half of their resources to ruins rush and not even return. WX is definitely the best character to ruins rush with. Even if they don't plan on going right away, a WX player should prepare for the ruins and wait until the base becomes well established. For me it's usually Summer but I have found myself trying to go into the ruins during late Winter recently. Oddly enough bunnymen are my biggest threat when I’m in the caves being how I always undermine them and decide to bring like 501 meaty stews and then I will regret everything after I die deep in the caves and I end up losing a 150 day long world
