Alvin Lee - Slow Blues in ‘C’
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 вер 2024
- Alvin Lee- gtr, voc; Richard Newman- drums; Pete Pritchard- bass
from the album The Last Show (2013)
The 2012 concert which turned out to become Alvin’s last ever show happened after a nine month break since the band had played together and had to be done without even a sound check. It was recorded on a handheld ‘bootleggers’ device (albeit by the sound engineer). However, when Alvin heard the footage he wanted to make it available for the fans. Buy it here: rainmanrecords....
My God, Alvin Lee died less than a year after this performance in Holland. R.I.P. Alvin Lee. May that Gibson Guitar , that very Few could come close to playing like you did with lightning quickness, be saved and adored for the ages.
After All of My 71 years I finally found My Favorite Blues Guitarist Alvin Lee tonight and I'm enjoying just like when I first heard Alvin play late night on OKC'S FM radio station in 1969 and I've been hooked ever since. Mmm Mmmm! What a way to refresh MYSELF!
One of the best and the most underrated of all time. He is just now getting accolades he should have had years ago.
Agreed. But the irony is that NOT getting accolades seems to, appropriately, fit that which is the blues. He was a phenom that seemingly existed in the background, maybe where he kinda belonged? And those of us who truly appreciate the blues, legit blues, knew where to find him...
Lee the most underrated guitar slinger, no fancy tecko pure genius it was in his fingers in the raw one of thee gods, of the blues a world apart stood alone 2021 still brilliant🎸🎸🎸🎸
Yes Sir, I'm 66 and his music is gonna Rock my old ass right into my dirt bed. 🎸🍺
What makes you believe he's underrated?
Love Alvin Lee (and Ten Years After) - ALWAYS! His legacy will live on FOREVER! R.I.P. ✌
👍 . ✌↩
He went home 🎸
One of the best blues guitarists ever and some say the fastest hands in rock. Alvin gave me much pleasure
Miss you enjoy your music since I first heard Ten Years After and solo albums I'm 64 now still enjoy your music RIP Alvin Lee
Makes me sad, he is gone. Love ALL of his music. Rest In Peace Alvin Lee...
All the great ones are gone.
People keep asking why the thumbs down, well thats like asking why are some people mute to great performances, no one will ever know why they have no feelings for good jams. Its sad but the lovers of the blues keeps growing brother. Hang in there because we win. RIP Alvin.
Are you trying to say there's other kinds of music besides the blues?🤔
Got the blues bad when I heard Alvin passed.I miss ya brother
One of the Greats RIP Alvin.
Alvin Lee and his musical style will live forever
Greatest blues. At 74 and being nocturnal listening Alvin in the wee small hours while reading the news, cool.
Yeah.....at night doing my hobbies....me and Alvin....his music...
Alvin Lee the greatest guitar 🎸 player ever with a gifted blues voice nobody can touch to date still rocking with Alvin Lee in 2024 !
Nobody in the Stones or those little bugs could come close to his talent level
it’s true
ALVIN. LEE IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST GUITAR PLAYERS. DID HE GET EVER PUT IN THE ROCK HALL OF FAME ? TEN YEARS AFTER WAS A FUCKING GREAT BAND. WOW. I LOVE LUSTENING TO HIM PLAY RIP
Andy, NO TYA is NOT in the RHOF - That's Incredible, yet they vote in ridiculous other bands or performers. Are YOU KIDDING Me!! Just based on their performance at Woodstock 1969 - the real Woodstock- they should be inducted bc , It was awe Inspiring, culture enhancing performance of one of the Greatest Rock/ Blues Guitarists that ever Lived.TYA Fans Should UNITE and Protest to the RHOF NOW !!
Up there with the best blues men. So much feeling in every note.
The greatest guitarist of the classic rock era that no one ever talks about. Alvin Lee was pure fireball in his fingertips, and was very much suited by the three different nicknames he sported for nearly his entire career, I.E., Captain Speedfingers, Fastest Guitar In The West, and The Man Who Played Faster Than His Shadow. This cat could flat shred a fret board, and his style was very unique because he did it without the use of wah/wah bars, foot pedals, fuzz boxes, or any of the other gimmicks of the day. Just pure lightning speed and God-given ability. Sure miss you Alvin!
You nailed it. Sooooo underrated. In my opinion thee best bluest blues player, guitarist and singer in all of r&b history. Thank you Mr. Lee
Been a fan since 1973. He is one of the best, right up there with jimmy page jimmy H. ERIC C. Dewayne A. Dickey Betts, BB K. TOP 10 4 SURE. HE WENT HOME, R.I.P. MR. GUITARIST.
ALVIN LEE IS ONE OF THE BEST GUITAR PLAYERS TO EVER PICK UP A GUITAR AND KNOW HOW TO PLAY IT,HE,s ONE OF THE VERY BEST,RIP ALVIN,TYA WAS GREAT ALSO.😎🎸🔊🎶☮️ BOB
The most underrated guitarist of all time
Danny Gatton (The Humbler) probably holds that distinction. Roy Buchanan, Terry Kath, and Alvin honorable mention. The idea of being “underrated” probably applies best to the naive kids and ignorant older farts making up lists for Rolling Stone magazine, and those inane rankings seen here on UA-cam.
That said, Alvin could share a stage respectably, with any blues/rock players.
What makes you believe he's underrated? Did you travel the globe taking a survey from every citizen of the world? Please explain.
Thanks Alvin Lee you may be gone but your music lives on and on. Still gig en it.
This is real brilliant the way he played this we keep his music alive he was so good.
PURE TALENT,ALVIN WILL LIVE ON AS ONE TRULY GREAT GUITAR PLAYERS EVER🎸,.RIP ALVIN.😎🔊🎶☮️🎼🎸 BOB.

Great add. Always been one of my favorites.
No doubt he’s one the greatest of time❤️
alvin did change the world just listen to the man
He was one of the best ever way under rated
Truly one of th best blues guitarist for sure!
Still awesome, right up to the very end. We lost him way too soon. Will always be awed by Alvin Lee. Few, if any, match his virtuosity, intensity, passion, on guitar. In my view, Alvin Lee was the best pure guitarist of his era, better, far more consistent, than Hendrix, Page, or any of the classic rock greats from the 1960s. RIP, Alvin.
Lpmgato1. Is ALVIN LEE IN THE THE ROCK HALL OF FAME.? TEN YEARS AFTER ?
Lpmgato1. I so agree! Yes there alot of good guitarist. But he is top. Ten years after I had several albums.
NAME DROPPER, It's not a contest!
I buy music, don't really CARE what their names are.
GROW UP!
It’s not a contest I agree but there’s good music and bad music. Good Blues and not so good blues. No harm appreciation the best.
your so right bro.
Fortunate to see Alvin Lee and Ten Years After in Atlanta in the late 60's or early 70's.
one of the best
Always his own distinctive and free-wheeling style of great playing! Not afraid to step outside the "norms" of electric guitar playing and go all in. A great virtuoso guitarist.
alvin lee and mick taylor are the two most underrrated guitarists that i know of....by far. john staub, midland, tx
WHAT ABOUT MICK RONSON
Best slow blues to me, amazing
En estos tiempos de tanta maldad que vivimos, Alvin Lee, calma mi malestar, lo sigo hace 52 años (desde mis 15). Grande Alvin, espero conocerte en la vida después de esta, que hoy no es vida.🙏
ALVIN , RORY AND JOHNNY BEST BLUESROCK GUITARIST. R.I.P.

@@jimsmith1930 YES,VERY GOOD R.I.P. SRV
Love this guy... makes my day! Every time I listen to Alvin! I wish I had played guitar instead of Bass!
From Leon Wilkerson's favorite bass player... still wish I had learned Alvin's guitar licks! Cause Leon kind of blew me away as a Bass player. I remember thinking I need to practice
One of my favorite song from Mr. Lee

I am loving this
My wee sister has Alvin's last guitar pick from this concert.
Nice!
Blessed
Luis B. Caracas, 24.02.2021.
13 years old 1979 watching Woodstock on public access channel and ten years after came on and did I'm comin home just WOW blew my little mind

Lieber Alvin Lee! Unvergessen. Danke.
The Last guitarslinger !
Amen screw the r and r hof
ohh ya! dem da blues!
Great!!!! Super Legend!!!! Love!!!!
In my opinion it just doesn't get better than this some may argue
the best guitar player ever ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HES FUKKKING LOVE GOOD
There are many greats, but each great had his own grandiose style > In AL's day kids would practice 8 hours a day, and many never were"fronted" - heck ;look at Nils Lofgrin being hid back in the corner while lesser talents- you get my point? If everyone sounded like AL, we would soon start to sigh- but when it is heard that AL is the main course tonight= "that is exactly what my palate wanted. I HATE BUFFETS! One player per night, I know I get more pleasure out of my ONE muscle car than Jay Leno's 100:Learned that truth late in life. Get the best that you can afford and KEEP IT!! Sorry how i drift!!
ONE WORD LEGEND!!!
Brilliance!!
Rip l'artiste.
Tu m'accompagnes depuis mon adolescence.
Mes enfants adorent ta musique...
Blues for ever.
Jeunesse bénie des Dieux !
So damn good, true blues, rip 🎶🎶🎶
what a musician!
Yessssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fairwell o the fastest guitar in the west everytime I hear ten years after I turn it up as loud as it will go dedicated to Memphis Mike Draxten RIP my brothers
Love you
In 2004 I saw Alvin lay in Aberdeen ( that's in Scotland, folks) along with two other acts, Tony TS McPhee of the Groundhogs, and the Edgar Winter Group... all other guitarists did the twisted face thing, but not Alvin, while melting the faces off the the crowd with blistering guitar licks, he was scoping the the first three row out for chicks..
... and he got them!
K:)
As my tat was being drilled into my arm Alvin Lee played his guitar in the background, all torture and blood spurts were covered by the living playing blues man, incense and San Diego 1970 marching to war, play on my man, LIKE GROOVY! VEEMAN ABQ NM
lostpoke1 🤣
ooooooh yeahhh!
Saw him in Worcester Mass. So long ago i cant remember the year. 81 or 82 maybe ? But I do remember his great guitar playing.
That gorgeous Gibson sings in Alvin's hands; more clearly than many of the best blues singers.
Grande Alvin...
absolutli de hit...
zom mitspile...
God damn, if you like 'mournful' blues, then this guy is your man. I just cant see how he's above Jimi, Moore, SRV, etc, who had a dynamic style that he breaks out now and then but goes into heartbreak hollow straight away. The blues is about overcoming obstacles not being defined by them.
I like all the ones you cited way more then Alvin, but he is also great, gotta listen to The Bluest Blues per exemple, that song has legit one of the best solos of all time
Thank you Lord, this is one of my greatest blessing
Great player so underated give a lot more famous players a running for their money should have been a lot more famous rip alvin keep rocking up there 👍
Greatest Blues guy ever! Stole his bass player's lickes ....every time I jammed on some Blues TURNAROUNDS!
