Its 2024 and I am still hoping for another drama of JKS under KBS. He is an awesome actor compared to most Korean actors his age and even among the younger ones.
It is just so sad that he is so underrated in his own country. Korea should be very proud of him instead. Thank you for this documentary. Makes us love him even more. So much talent at a very young age and all alone.

This young man is the only Korean actor that earned my respect. Never been a fan of Kpop and Kdramas, the Korean entertainment business is a cut-throat industry. With new and rising starlets kept popping out like factory produced goods, there is just no longevity for the older artists unless they keep themselves competitive otherwise will be easily replaced. For JKS who has survived so long in the business and yet following his own values without being anyone's puppet, he is really being ahead of all his peers in his generation.

I could not agree more, this is the only Korean artist that I painstakingly binge-watched since May of this year. It was a bittersweet moment when I learned about him a bit late, but I am making up for it big time. Now watching the Royal Gambler, leaving Hwang Jini for last.

i have actually just started watching kdrama this year. Stumbled upon Love Rain & fell in love with Jang Keun Suk. Loved his acting & that ohh melt your heart voice. I am now binge watching all his kramas & searching spotify for his songs. Watching this video has made me appreciate him more. Starting in the business so young, you get to understand his point of view based from his experiences, makes me in awe of his determination & hard work for his passion & happy to see him succeed. I wish him more success & hope that he will continue to soar & always stay grounded =)

His voice is so soothing and addicting, already produce 4 solo album and 4 Team H album that always placed in the top Oricon Chart.

Michelle I lol!! Seriously you want to compare JKS to LMH?? That's just absurbly hilarious! You can't compare both of hem as they are in the league of their own. Don't get me start the comparison game. It's not fair to compare LMH to JKS as LMH is JKS hoobae in the industry after all. Don't compare rookie LMH who has 5/6 years experience to JKS who has 21 years experience in the industry under his belt. That makes him a sunbae to his '87 line and even to stars who is older than him but debut slightly later than him. There's a pretty good reason why KBS do this documentary on him but not on any other KStars. There must be a reason why they mention him as the centre of hallyu wave in the first place. He has achieved greatness through hardship but being JKS he rode his difficulties with a smile and never complaint about it to others. He endures it and fighting by finding his own way to success even without the back up of any entertainment company. I'm proud that he danced to his own beats and never compromised his belief and principles just to please the big player in the industry. In fact, he don't really need an agent manager to promotes him as he himself is a brand. He is all rounded star who do modelling, acting, singing, songwriting, DJ-ing, MC-ing, event planner and not to mention being a director to his own company & etc. He owns a 6 storey building in Gangnam which his own entertainment company Tree J Company located, he has his own shops in Japan Collecté de Zikzin & AP Shibuya Shop selling purely his own merchandised under his Zikzin label which is often sold out, his own cafe Zikzin Cafe, his own radio Zikzin Radio, his own festival Zikzin Festival, his is the only star who own paid and free mobile application app on market as his platform to communicate with his eels on regular basis apart from his social network channel..so tell me which part of that could be matched to LMH in bringing the Hallyu Wave to be known worldwide?
But I don't blame you for leaving that kind of remarks on him here as people who don't really know him and his personality will always has that stigma and that misunderstanding on him. I suggest you to at least watch this documentary till the end before you rant any hateful comment on people who you barely know in the first place...;) I am an eel and I am proud to be one of his eels.

Jang Keun Suk has high expectation & professional in the things he does each time be it acting or singing. I remember the TeamH concert at Bangkok in 2013 when he changed the stage design last minute to become center stage instead of front stage like most concerts.. reason is he wanted surrounding & close interactions with his fans...just like Tokyo Dome concert, he would cycle around the big dome to greet his eels and have the hot-air balloon round the dome (even he complaint of the height! ^_^) to greet all his 45,000 eels... really appreciate his thoughtfulness for his fans..
that statement that it took him 20 years to get to the drama that made him popular, and he had no chance to make friends or memories was just plain sad, that and as a five year old having to learn to hide feelings , bloody hell...
I feel happy at the same time, because of the hardship that JKS had to gone through in order to fulfill his dreams likewise I admire his being honest for showing to all his fans what kind of person he is, very different from a typical korean performer, maybe because he can do so many things, can sing,act,dance,dj,mc and the most unique of his personalitu is he communicate with his fans directly and with sincerity,, I pray and wish with all my heart that after his return from AMS he will able to continue what is being left and I hope eels will be there for him to support and always love him. 12.02 2021…I have all JANG KEUN SUK’s work in a collection, also the documentaries about his Japan tours, including the behind the scenes parts. I love his personality, and his stage presence, where he becomes extremely charismatic. One of his best roles as a very young boy was in the heartbreaking drama series HWANGJINI (2007 production), acting in the first episodes as the young lover of Ha Ji-Won, who was at that time already an accomplished famous actress. He performed heart breaking in this short but meaningful role, as he died, because of his love for her. From then on l followed his career, and enjoyed all his dramas, and movies, especially the hilarious YOU ARE MY PET movie.
As JANG KEUN SUK had a sad, demanding, cruel childhood, not having any control over his live, he became finally a well deserved, hard worked for famous artist, singer, and actor. His tours in Japan were incredibly successful, and it was hard to imagine that he himself pulled it all of, being involved in all aspects of the stage preparations, costumes, stories etc...and during the performances he looked any inch effortlessly. In all of his many Korean drama series he acted genuine, convincing, and with this JkS trademark. He is a perfectionist.
His intelligence, smartness, combined with willpower, and endurance has inspired, and motivated me in my own ventures.
I hope for now, he will allow himself some time out, and rest, enjoy the little things he loves.

I am an Indian who git connected with kdramas because of my friends.... while lee min ho is a popular name here,jang keun suk is a rarely heard name but for me I got truly connected to k drama only after I watched you are beautiful. my reason for starting to watch it is park shin hye but the only reason I watched it completely is jang keun suk. TBH I only learned about JKS after cruising the net for Lee Min Ho. And have not stopped since following this highly talented person. I love all his movies even if they rent good because I know he gives his best . People hating his character only brought out the fact that was how the the character should be seen. His singing baritone is to die for. But this documentary made me a bit sad also because he looked alone despite the crowd surrounding him.
He is the one and only K-actor / idol I love, ever and forever. He so is natural not fake or artificial like other k-actors / idols

Thanks that i came across this documentary while browsing JKS fan made videos. I really adore and love this kid despite all the not so good comments about him. I started loving him after watching Love Rain and Daebak (only recently that i was hooked with kdrama.) I thought i'd be loyal to Jong Ki but i was wrong coz am more into JKS. His amazing talents made me love him more. I just hope that he'd never change the way he is coz being what he is without pretensions is more than enough for fans to love him more.

I recently stumbled into the world of KDramas so I'm new. I found out about Jang Keun Suk through a blog post of 10 bad boys of kpop. He was on the top of the list. I was intrigued, and had many questions: Why is he labeled a bad boy with such a charming smile? Why do they keep calling him arrogant? What did he do to gain this title? I hadn't watched any of his dramas or heard him sing yet but I was intrigued by him. So I found a list of his dramas and picked one to watch. The one I chose was Love Rain. I chose it in part because I had heard (what some deemed controversial ) things jang geun suk said about being involved in that drama. I chose it because he said it burned him and because it did poorly in korea. (after watching this documentary I understand why he said those things). Anyways back to Love Rain: I watched it and bam the magic that is Jang Keun Suk has casted its spell. Watching him in Love Rain I can truly say he is a most talented actor. I can see little choices he made in regards to character for in ha and joon. I saw how he chose to seperate the two and bring them together. That is genius work with tremendous talent. I began wanting to know more about him and his work and just why people either love him or love to hate him. I admire him watching him in Love Rain made me realize somethings about myself. I could see those choices he made and it made see my true passion in life is to act. Jang Keun Suk helped me realize I can't hide from my passion , I can't let doubt or fear rule over me. He would never do that and It's one of the things I admire about him. He cuts the crap and will unapologetically be himself. Watching this documentary when he says "don't pity me I'm not ill" I understand it. I had a theater teacher tell me once "you are never sick before a show. It's mind over matter .Simply say I'm not sick" . So watching him live out whatnmy teacher told me was like wow. Jang Keun Suk is not just talented but he works hard for what he wants because he knows it takes more than talent alone. Living in the states and being exposed to stars like Justin Bieber and the likes who are obnoxious and some talentless Jang Keun Suk is refreshing. I love that he has no filter because it makes him genuine. So what if he says things that might not come across well at first , if you take time to think about what he was really trying to say, then you can appreciate his realness and honesty. After watching this documentary I know now why he said Love Rain burned him. He didn't get to place more of his creative energy into a show he has been dreaming of since he was a kid because he committed himself to a drama. The drama was poorly received even though he worked so hard and sacrificed time and effort that could have been spent preparing for his dream show. Frankly from that perspective Love Rain's poor reception does kind of feel like a burn. Oh well rant over long story short I truly respect , admire, and look up to Jang Keun Suk. Fighting sunbae!
Hi! Just a newbie fan here as well :) as per the documents I've read, JKS started to be a popular star in Japan after airing the Kdrama Series, You're Beautiful. This Drama did not sell well in Korea but it gives him many fans overseas due to this drama (You better watch this and promise, you cannot get over him) as for my experience, after watching this, I've became an instant eel :) I can say that he is one of the best and unique actors in Korea, not just because of his looks, but he is a person with sense of humor and charming personality :) he can carry himself anywhere. I cannot find the right words to say, but he is really one of a kind.
Regarding the arrogant issue, i think people just misunderstood him. he is just a direct to the point person, wherein what he thinks is what he says. Which i believe, makes him unique in the world of show business

He also has fans from europe and russia. Also, try to watch the video where russian eels sponsored a coffee truck for JKS and staff during his shooting days... There may be some negative articles about him but most of the articles depict love for JKS. Especially how his fans love him.. In addition to that, try watching some of his concerts in you tube, fans also conceptualized cute yet amazing surprises just for JKS :)

I think Asian standards require you to be what sounds overly modest to Western ears whereas the Prince is pretty realistic and vocal about his fantastic abilities. His roles include bad boys, too, so the audience tends to identify him as badass, too. I explain it this way :D

Checking his photos and watching his videos gives me energy to overcome the hardships esp at work.. Gosh, I wish I could hug him to console the sadness he felt but this was years ago so I believe He does feel Happy and loved by all after all these years! ❤

Seeing this after a new year countdown for 2012 must have been so blissful for eels. Why have I only known you in 2013? Thanks to LMH coz I stumbled upon you! I liked him once but when I saw you, I totally forgot about him and I’m totally glued to you, I can’t let go! Never had I been so addicted to other Korean actors but You! Only you, AP! Gosh I must be crazy but I’m happy. 😂 I’m a loyal eel for 7 yrs and counting.. Can’t say much about how you are different among the others. A true eel knows. Let me tell u a funny story. We actually had plans getting him in PH in 2013 but...the organizer and ABS CBN could not afford him. They couldn’t take the risk. Lol! He was already an A-lister then and talent fees are getting much higher, and getting much harder for PH to get him here. So ill just silently watch him from a far. We are on the same sky anyway. 😄

impossible not to admire this artist so much for your perseverance and determination that led him to achieve what is unimaginable and probably ridiculous to many but however the achievement is an example to many of those that follow we have gone through moments where we thought we could not follow or achieve our projects perhaps because not all said no but in my case seeing as still fighting for their dreams motivated me to get ahead always straight as he says he is someone who is always close with his fans do not forget us and we always present and shows us his love by being in constant contact with us someone like this who has managed to overcome the difficulties of life and to become a great artist who is now day is a person worth admiring jang keun suk that's for me.

Lol i was going to watch the first 10 mins but I ended watching the whole thing. He's a hard worker and clearly deserve his fame even though I'm not really into his songs.
I have been a fan since Hong Gil Dong, then You're Beautiful. But Love Rain and Bel Ami have fallen into such a slump. Yet I still believe this guy can come back up after another drama.
