Love your pickpocketing content. One thing that can be a game changer is splitting the merchant's gold into stacks. First buy all the stuff you'd like to steal. Then put all their gold for barter and split that into tiny stacks. I prefer this method because it is the most reliable (only fail on crit) and doesn't need much support. The cons are that you already need to have the money and it takes more time to split and steal 100s of stacks. it'll have you wondering whether you're really winning lol. I use a macro recorder to automate the splitting and stealing so I can do something else in the meantime but that doesn't help too much with the existential crisis.
